I just wanted to make a thread since I found a little easter egg that made me happy.

Well, first of all I made a thread about this in the DA2 forum, but there are some women in the Tower saying something like "Did you hear about the hero of Ferelden?  They say he once took on a pirate woman and three nugs... between the sheets."  Which made me think of Hawke and the girl in his flashback.

BUT, what really made me happy was that in the library, if you examine the book Spirit Healers Through the Ages, it mentions that there are some apprentice notes scrawled into it including a drawing of several Templars being eaten by a tiger called Sir-Pounce-a-lot!

Did anyone else read all the book descriptions in the mage tower? Lots of interesting little titles and descriptions there in addition to the Ser Pounce-a-lot reference. Also, my favourite quote was: "Owls? What kind of mage keeps an owl as a pet?" in the same room that featured the three children that looked like Ron, Hermione, and Harry Potter in the mage origin. Oh and also.. revisiting Shale's thaig.. that was cool. And um, Anders got a mention from Finn.. describing one of his escape attempts.

Yeah, one of my Wardens had the nug encounter in the Pearl too.

Yeah, I got that one completely wrong. I didn't spend enough time at the Pearl apparently, plus for some reason I had the idea in my mind that DA2 took place long before DAO, so that by the time of DAO Hawke could have been somewhat legendary... But I was very wrong.

I was hoping Finn would make a comment on Wynne and how the fade shines out of her bum. Though the Anders and Ser Pouncealot stuff was great.

Ariana was lovely. She is my favorite DLC companion now sorry Tug. I so wish my Dalish Elf could romance her.

Did anyone catch the mage banter about Kirkwall and how there were twice as many refugees outside the city as there were citizens in it. The Templars are apparently keeping them out.

Yes. There was something else about Kirkwall too - a reference to the mage tower.

Hawke Is from Lothering, he fled when the Blight hit the town. I believe DA2 takes place 5 years after the blight, if I remember the recently posted video interview.

DA:2 covers a 10-year period beginning during the events of DA:O. The early stages of DA:2 would be occuring concurrently with the events in Origins, Awakenings, GoA, and Witch Hunt.

Actually that one didn't make sense to me. Unless we're supposed to believe that Anders willingly went back into the Mage tower and scrawled in a book's margins after Awakening, then shouldn't it be "Mr. Wiggums" and not "Ser Pounce-a-lot?"

The only other explanation I can think of is that he thought of the name way back when and just kept it mentally filed away until he got a cat of his own.

He did come up with the name awfully quickly.

That's pretty much what I figured too.  Seems reasonable enough.

Maybe they should have spent less time on Easter eggs and more time on, you know, having the game register the correct ending choices?

In the awakening credits, it mentions Anders taking a break from the wardens to lecture at the Circle.

That's what I figured--that if he ever had a cat of his own, he'd call it Ser-Pounce-a-Lot, and had wanted a cat since he was an apprentice.

Regarding Anders and the Ser Pounce-a-lot confusion, I'm 99% sure that Ser Pounce-a-lot was a childhood fantasy friend that Anders made up when he was an apprentice at the Tower. That would be why the note was stuck in the book. Obviously, he named the kitten he received in Awakening Ser Pounce-a-lot after this fictional childhood character/friend that he made up.

Oh, and I did love that reference, plus the Harry Potter/owl joke, etc.

Except easter eggs = writing
Importing saves = design/programming

It wasn't a matter of choosing which one to spend more time on. I doubt David Gaider or any of the other writers would be able to help debug the import code, talented as they may be.

Agreed... and the nug "surprise me" option at the Pearl.

if you're playing a female mage the same two girls also make a comment about how it's a shame Cullen isn't there (and go on to explain how he's resting up at some Chantry in the country until Gregior decides he's leveled out enough to come back)
