Forgive me if this is already posted somewhere, I was unable to find it.
I'm trying to install the Witch Hunt dlc, and the download goes fine, but the version number is in red (1.04). Using the launcher utility I see that my exe file is indeed labelled as version 1.04. Is there a way to force the dlc to realize that I am indeed using version 1.04?
(If it helps/makes a difference, I purchased it through Steam, so it seems I can't just download the patch and reinstall it)
Can't install content because version is incorrect

Same problem here.
Has nothing to do with Steam though. I reinstalled the patch multiple times, but the game still won't install Witch Hunt...

I am having the same problem, so right now i just went to http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php and I am downloading it straight from there to see if I can get that to work.
Here are the steps once you download the file.
1. Right click on the link below and select "Save Target As", or the equivalent in your browser. Save the .dazip file to your computer. If your browser tries to rename it to a .zip file, rename it back to .dazip after download.
2. Find the daupdater.exe application. It is usually located under \\bin_ship in your Dragon Age folder (for example C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daupdater.exe). Double click on it to open it.
3. Click on "Select DAZIPs". Navigate to where you have saved the .dazip file and open it.
4. Now the .dazip file will appear on the Install tab. Select it on the list and click "Install Selected."

Success! I was able to install it manually just fine. However when I first went into the game i couldn't see it under other campaigns so I went under installed DLC and disabled Witch Hunt and then re-enabled it and it popped up. Hope this helps

Okay, now it's saying it's unable to be installed. Is there a way to manually delete your DLC from the folders? To redownlaod it again?

Well, seems that I did not have the luck you folks did, I got a bunch of errors about the content updater not being able to update an Xml file (addins.xml). Seems it encounter a null reference exception, which in my mind puts the coding practices over at BioWare into question (I guess at least they caught the exception). Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I bought my DOA through STEAM too, and the same happened when I tried to instal Leliana´s Song. But if the download is going fine, you should wait, because my download was appearing the version in RED too, but when the download was finished, it worked just fine!

Hm. Nope. Not yet. I also tried editing the XML file with the authorization settings. No luck.

@FoxMurderer: THe download has already finished twice. The version number stays red and the installation fails.

@Cyricist: Where is the xml file located? I don't seem to have a copy in my dragon age folders.

I didn't believe BioWare can mess up two DLCs in a single day, but here we go!
It's actually funny.

Coincidentally, zero is now my most hated number.

The AddIns.xml file is located in My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings folder.Kolichikov wrote...

Well.. I got the DLC to run.. somewhat.. but then I got errors stating I was unable to load area. nd my download ingame all the while keeps sitting there at 0%. Is there some way to remove it from the ingame loadscreen? I think it may be interfering with the manually downloaded content..

Is anyone able to just open their AddIns.xml file? I'm starting to suspect that the file is now not a true xml file and has an error. When I try to open it in editors they complain that it's not a valid xml file.

Yea, sorry, I posted first and thought about it later, opening it in visual studio went fine. Seems like there is no remainder from the attempted installs.

Well, I figured out the problem. If anyone else is having troubles updating outside of the game because of the AddIns.xml file, this is what you need to do.
1. Locate the file (My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings folder as JackM pointed out)
2. Open in Notepad.
3. Click File -> Save as...
4. Make sure that you change the encoding to UTF-8 and save.
5. Try to install again.
That's what worked for me, hopefully it will work for anyone else with this issue.

Or, use a better text editor, like Notepad++
