So this is an odd problem I've never seen before:
Recently switched to the new X-Box 360 "slim."
Transferred everything to the new HD no problem, all my licenses were ported over too.
However, when I try to put ME2 (Collector's Edition) Disc one into the reader, it won't identify it. I get a generic "X-Box 360" screen and the regular "play DVD" controls. Disc two works fine and I have been able to install it and continue games off of it as normal, but Disc 1 simply won't seem to work, either for installing or even just being basically identified.
There are no visible scratches on the disc, and it's been stored in its' case for several months until today.
Any help? Anyone having the same problem?
New X-Box 360, Disc 1 won't read?

I have an xbox 360 s and it works perfectly, but have you tried it multiple times, because i notice that sometimes all 360 can mistake the game disc for a dvd. It happens every once in a while with all 360's.

Tried it four times now. Still reading as a DVD for some reason.

Probably an issue with the drive. Does it happen on any other games you own? This tends to occur on older drives, but cheaper, poorer quality ones can get it too, the original XBox had a similar fault if you had one of the three models of DVD drive they used. I ripped mine out and stuck in a drive I'd bought myself and it was fine and dandy. Not so easy with the 360 though, but a bad drive on a new box should be covered by your warranty.

Same thing happens with my 2nd disc on the xbox collectors edition i downloaded the 1st game to the hard drive plays fine 2nd game no way of working at all.

Tried 15 other game discs and two DVDs (just to be sure), and they all read properly. Looks like it's a disk issue and not a reader issue.

What do we have to do now do we have to buy a new disc or make copy seen as we already bought it.
