I just did it again with a Queen Cousland and got to plunge my knife into her gut before she fell backwards into the mirror; but we were friends, had Alistair do the DR, etc, so this ending was bugged, too. I had previously done it with HNM in a romance with her, which was also bugged.

Did you do Awakenings with those characters? I did not and my HNF was ok. Maybe Awakenings is the problem?

Awakening with the first character, only Origins with the second, and still bugged.  Both were HNO.

There goes that idea.

I also took my Queen Cousland straight from Origins into WH and got the bug.

Is there an awful ending bug? That sucks! Morrigan seemed to acknowledge the ritual just fine for me... but then.. just before I imported a character, I noticed that during the post coronation scene, that Loghain wasn't acknowledging that the ritual happened either... so I modded it real fast, in case that flag was important... I wonder if that made a difference at all... ?

I'm glad you noticed the problem and fixed it for yourself.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help anyone on the xbox or the PS3.

What flag was it that you fixed, though, exactly?  It may help me figure out what the hell it's reading wrong for me, even though I can't mod it.

I don't know if it's meaningful or not, but if it's a coincidence, it's an odd one.

In preparation to import a character, I loaded my post coronation Origins save--A female character who had spared Loghain, exiled Alistair, had Loghain do the DR, and obviously was not in a romance with Morrigan. I was getting a conversation bug when talking to Loghain so I unstalled all my mods and replayed the game from landsmeet to epilogue, and I was still getting the bug. I don't know if my mods did it or not.
Whenever I spoke to Loghain after the coronation, he was acting like he didn't know anything about the ritual or why we survived (as if my PC did it, instead).
It looks like the plot flag that must be set to get the correct branch of his dialog there is MORRIGAN_RITUAL_CONVINCED_LOGHAIN, however I cannot find where in Morrigan's or Loghain's dialog where this flag is supposedly set. (thoughI didn't look for very long because I only discovered that something was wrong earlier today).
So I modded the tree to set that flag, so that, in the off chance that it was needed, it would be set.

There is a Loghain Dark Ritual Fix in the Morrigan Restoration Patch. He'll aknowledge the ritual, if you use that fix. It's on DA Nexus.

I don't think the child will play any major role in Dragon age 2 .. I mean at the end of DA2 he would be like hmmm , 9 years old?Considering this DLC happens like 1 years after the dark ritual . So the god baby around like 3 month old ?

The other question's ... So the baby's already inside the 4th dimension before Morrigan and my Warden enter it?

I liked this ending  for my Warden. What's left for him? He's basicly Hulk on steroid.I hate politic anyway .

Given the fact that we are given three items to download when we purchase Witch Hunt (the addon itself and one item called Witchcraft for both Origins and Awakening), does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I just finished Witch Hunt, and I have to say that I thought Bioware would want the Origins series to go out in style. I found the DLC to be pretty shoddy, the battles quite meh besides the new monster at dragonland, and all for a conversation with Morrigan which ended up bugged (Did the DR, she said I didn't).

So boo to you Bioware, for this badly done dlc.

And why did you use a new V.A for Sandal????? Why Maker why!!

Seriously, they couldn't even pay the same guy to say TWO LOUSY LINES????????  Actually, just the same line twice (Oh, and "hi doggy")

Crap, start to finish

Pretty much this. And that last one deserves special attention: Why bother including that character if he's going to be voiced differently? No offense to Sandal fans, but all he does is says "Enchantment!". And hello doggy, but whatever. He wasn't going to contribute much to the story.

EDIT:  Evidently we thought the same way, TJPags.

Played it on Xbox and enjoyed it fine. I didn't like GOLEMS OF AMGARRAK because straight-up dungeon-crawlers with no interesting story or character progression bore me to death. WITCH HUNT might be shorter but it deals with the characters, so I liked that.

Didn't get any bugs. Played a Lady Cousland who ended friends with Morrigan. She doesn't get to leave with Morrigan, which didn't surprise me. Looks like this DLC is heavily biased towards male PCs that romanced her. I didn't mind that.

Maybe this has been addressed already, but what's in the book? My Warden picked it up and BOOM credits roll.

The only thing I liked about Witch Hunt was Ariane - I'm surprised she didn't die in a cave in or something.

You know what I just realized--what was up with the foreshadowing Tevinter statue and "this will be the last time we speak again" to Finn? That was plain odd. Maybe he appears in DA2 or something and dies.

Morrigan recognized all my choices correctly and even acknowledged that I still had the ring.

Can you develop? How emotional was the whole thing, and what is the final boss like?

It leaves you hungry for more..that's the best way to describe it.

So it's not a closure in any kind of way that settles things with the warden... at all...?

For me it was. I went with her and whatever the two of us are up to will be revealed in DA3 possibly.

To me it was great. My Warden (the mage at least) became an active participant of the plotting. When I play Hawke I'll be comforted by the fact that somewhere, in some dimension, my Warden is exactly where he wants to be and might even be considered a villain. I went with her partly for the romance but also to advance whatever goals she has for my character's son.

The only let down for me was at the end, I wanted some kind of potential conflict not with Morrigan but with my companions. I wanted Ariane to try to get her book forcibly or something and I wanted the option of killing her and Finn to make my departure more dramatic and sinister. The whole time I played it, and not knowing the ending, I was completely ready to turn on those two in an instant.

I feel sorry for those who romanced Morrigan only to get this bugged DLC. I hope the bug gets resolved though I have a funny suspicion BW will do nothing for the bugged ending.

Oh, they'll do something.

They'll tell us how great DA2 will be.

I'm curious if the bug is related to married wardens -- it seems to be appearing if the warden is married (male and female). Or maybe I'm just selectively reading here.

Whatever, I found the DLC extremely disappointing.

@Saibh @TJPags With the horrible impersonation of Sandal + the pretty crappy quest-line I wouldn't have been surprised if this was just a mod instead of Biowares official product.

Bioware dropped the ball big time for this DLC, especially with all the expectations that came with it. "Your Wardens Last Adventure!!". I understand why gamespot gave it a bad review.

Another lazy lazy thing: Your origin doesn't really matter, you're just Warden Commander to everyone. Remember this thing called Dragon Age ORIGINS Bioware???? Ugh.

I liked the DLC a lot up until the bugged ending. My Warden (Dalish female) sent Alistair to do the ritual but she acted as if I had refused her. I imported from Awakening.

Other than this, I thought it was well done and interesting. Loved the lore stuff, humor and easter eggs. Also enjoyed the companions including Dog. No complaints until Morrigan started talking about me refusing her in Redcliffe.

With all the bugs being experienced by several people even if I have been lucky and got no issue, I am still worried about importing our save for DA2... It looks like the various DLC/expansion are already messing up stuffs so it's not really looking good.

Regarding Witch Hunt itself, I was kinda disappointed at first but now that I really think about it, I guess it is actually to be taken as an introduction to DA2 and not really as a conclusion to DA:O as promised. I mean even the final boss, the strider, is actually one of the new creatures created for the next game but introduced here. Sometimes things have to be taken into perspective to be appreciated.

I was one of the lucky ones; my warden (the ID pic) did not do the ritual, broke off with Morrigan, and sacrificed someone else and married Anora. The ending actually made sense and was resolved with my character giving Morrigan a "gift" for wasting my time for running around Ferelden for a mirror.

I was planning on doing a romance with Morrigan with DR on a future playthrough, but if this bug is never fixed, I might reconsider. Shame on you Bioware thinking this would be a satisfying conclusion for our Warden's story.

Agreed,  Lazy start to finish.

Hell, they couldn;t even remember my dog's name!!!!!!!

They hyped this as the conclusion to what was, really, a damn good game.  And this is how they finish it?

What a serious lack of effort.

On laziness: Seriously, Bioware, you couldn't even give us a few paragraphs of text to tie up the many many loose ends/cliffhangers you left us with? The Wardens adventure ends with Morrigan having an amnesiac fit. Thats how this epic tale ended for me. :?

I think our problem is we thought they would bring their A-game and our expectations went too high.

I might have settled for their B-game . . .or maybe even the C-game.

This was just a bad imitation of a game.

No, I got no mention of a child at all because apparently there wasn't one.
