There you all go. Now you can use the time to flame me rather than **** and moan unnecessarily and have a little patience over a damn GAME!
Patience has a limit.

Yes, something like this can happen in the IT business... In such a case, the people responsible for making this work should put in overtime add long as possible until its fixed... So as not to alienate customers and as a matter of common courtesy. I'm just hoping bioware are actually doing this, and not punching out at 5...
Well, hope for the best, be prepared for the worst.
We already got royally screwed, AGAIN !

It has become a thing of importance rather than a diversion. It's a drug if you will.

Dear Bioware:
Next time you are releasing a DLC, please test the file at least twice on all applicable OS's (a 32 bit and 64 bit of each), and upload the file to your servers at least 3 days before it launches. That is a VERY easy way to avoid such a error in the future.
It's actually just a dead file. Corrupted by the compiler into a bunch of zeroes.
The weird thing is that the file has no icon either, you think the error would've been caught by that alone.
exactly... a SINGLE check would have been sufficient.
It most likely got corrupted on the server side, and if you were around when everyone was rushing to find download links, people were downloading it before it was even fully uploaded, which means how the heck could bioware download and test the file then release it if half the people already downloaded it before bioware could. By the time they were downloading and testing the file, people were already complaining about it not working. The only thing Bioware could have done differently was better hide the file from people so they could test it before everyone got their paws on it.
I wish people took some basic IT classes before spouting garbage.

Bioware listened to what we wanted, and came through with more Liara, right now. No need to wait for ME3 to resume the romance with our favorite blue skinned twi- er, Asari.
So, if it takes a few more days, or weeks, to get what we asked for, I still say 'well done Bioware', for the content alone.
( Always assuming, of course, that the content *is* good, when we get our hands on it. Early reviews indicate that it's pretty good. )

lol, comments like that cheer things up. I guess the Shadow Broker hacked the file because he didn't want to be found. Hang in there, hold the line.R3vANGEL wrote...

Yeah that's right, sell people a DLC full of 0s and then ban them for having the nerve to not be happy about it.
Yes it will be fixed but I can't blame people for getting annoyed.

I just hope that Bioware can get it working before I have to go to bed.
Oh hell yea. The most epic failures happen when "nobody did anything wrong" and something just "fell through the cracks". I.e. everyone was just doing their jobs and everyone assumed it's someone else's job to do something in particular, and when the ****up is revealed everyone is busy shifting the blame instead of getting it fixed. Not uncommon for big companies too... like EA...
Unfortunately, I do happen to know exactly how programs are made, and what faulty code, data corruption and code debugging is. I can imagine how a glitch can create a file whose size is 0 bytes, but I don't know how you can accidentally create a 1.5Gb file full of 00s, and upload it to production CDN without everyone knowing right away. But somehow it's not so hard for me to imagine someone deliberately creating one, so that EA/Bioware could claim they released it on time but need more time to investigate "compatibility issues"...

I agree completely, when things go wrong then I stay until they are fixed, you stop eating, nothing matters more than fixing the problem. Infact I should think that Chris is ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL over it.
In fact I am sure that their debugs will tear the file appart.

I was afraid a server error was the most likely possibility... hence why I suggest uploading the file 3 days ahead of time. That way you can ALSO test the download, AND release it on time.

For all we know it could take them DAYS... so stop this talk about "a few hours".felicat wrote...
*shrugs* okay.. i paid for the DLC.. i downloaded it... noticed it won't work, checked the forums, found the reason.
where's the problem? hey... waiting a few hours longer doesn't mean the world stops turning... take some time and think about all the MMORPG's out there and how many problems they have with new content... patches over patches.. all in all over days.
waiting a few hours or maybe a day is no problem at all.
Even the biggest companys make mistakes... it's only human
That's not the point.
The problem lies in that BioWare/EA happily took my money WITHOUT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES for a product that was deemed READILY AVAILABLE and I did not receive said product.
Don't get me wrong, I love and support BioWare 100%; but this is just so utterly sloppy and such a bonehead mistake that it makes you wonder what in the frack they were doing when they uploaded this file.
Next time you go to your favorite fast-food joint, fork over your cash and then receive an empty box with no food in it and they tell you to stand there and wait until, OH, they feel like giving you your food that you paid for while they already have your money...tell us how that goes for you. Last time I checked, I plunked money down for a DLC, not to give BioWare/EA a $10 loan (multiplied by THOUSANDS of buyers, no doubt).

If they don't find a solution and can't fix it soon, and were not prepared to the worst case, then they go back to work on an new file and test it extensively, it's mean creating new file for pc, then play it to be sure it's fine, then upload it, then test the link to ensure everything is working as intented.
It's mean a lot of hour.
