What an idiotic comparison since you WILL get what you paid for. Fast food joint indeed. Good grief some of these kids.

Too hard to understand? Say, you order pizza today, I bring it tomorrow. No problem - you got what you paid for.

Another idiotic comparison.

I dont, reprimand yes but not fired.
They need to learn from the mistake and make sure it doesn't happen again. I dont even want ton know their name/names. I just want them to do a better job. Actually put in a proper release system for PC dlc that has checks involved that catch easy mistakes like this.

Bioware is and will always be my favorite developer, this issue doesn't phase that at all, not a big deal... Go outside or get laid to pass the time.

Dear Lord! All of you keep saying that we should do something alse, GET A LIFE...

Can you imagine there are even oversea customers and it's 0:45 a.m. in Europe, so all I can go is go to my bed, pissed and angry ?!

I second that. It's 3 in the morning and the hour of the wolf is upon me. Nothing to be done, I guess.

Suppose I shall just wait and hope.

We have reason to be mad Edam. If you went and bought a house which turned out to be only an empty lot when you got there how would you feel?

Good grief, the illogic of some of the members here is epic. YOU WILL GET YOUR DLC!

In the name of all saints, how much brains does it require to understand us? It was promised that we'll get it today. We got our hopes up. We got screwed up. It makes us feel crappy. Can't deliver - don't promise. It makes us mad, we rage in forums. It's not logic, it's FEELINGS.

U.N.D.E.R.S.T.A.N.D? Or still too hard? Sheesh!

The day isn't over yet................

the day is over it is 0:42

For you maybe. its 23:49 for me. still 10 minutes left. plus im meaning the work day for Bioware. even if they were to shut up shop on time it would still give us over an hour. but i have every confidence they will be on overtime........

I'm surprised they weren't ready for this earlier.

Unless I'm missing something, is there a good reason for companies not to test their files at least a day or two in advance, to make sure everything will go smoothly?

It just strikes me as bad organization/planning and a lack of basic error-checking. They need to hire somebody a little more obsessive-compulsive about sh*t like this.

What makes you think they didn't check? There are many ways that a proper file can be corrupted after it is uploaded.

What a nice person; you
hope someone loses their livelihood over a mistake;  I hope
you never get into a position of authority (i.e. Boss).  You'd
be the most most horrible person to work for..

It's not about being nice if someone is incompetant at thier job they derseve to lose it to someone who can do it right.

Ok seriously now. This is the first time Bioware "f"s up majorly. Don't be too harsh stuff like that happens! And come to think if it it's not that much of a problem we just have to wait a bit longer. Remeber when Ubi randomly shut down Assassin's Creed 2 copies? Now that was a major screw up, Bioware just messed up the upload along the way. No money or data or whatever will be lost. So just have a little patience

Uh, Ubisoft was not the one that disabled the servers for AC2, that was the "pirates"  that DDOS their servers to proof how stupid the DRM was. The pirates who downloaded the game for free could play the game while those who bought it could not.

I think some of you should take a step back and not allow yourself to get too distressed over this. While I appreciate that it's hardly good business practice for put forth a product for sale without ascertaining the quality of it beforehand -- we all know that these things do take place; after all, we're but human and mistakes will occur. I'm sure we'll have a working version soon enough. It's not worth getting angry over, and they've assured us it'll come at no extra cost. That's reasonable to my mind.

Thanks for letting us know. I downloaded Lair of the Shadow Broker earlier before I went to my evening class and was disapointed to get back and find I can't play. I hope whatever is causing the problem is fixed soon.

Hopefully it will be something that can be resolved with a quick patch - hopefully.

Maybe they are doing their best. But as usual they seem wholly incapable of communicating this - instead deciding to hide behind vaguaries and guesswork, with absolutely no information about the problem and seemingly no excuse for sloppy, last minute problems. Why wasn't this file uploaded over the weekend?

M

Can't answer you why it wasn't uploaded during the weekend, but my guess would be that people wanted it as soon as possible. I'd also guess that this is some technical issue they're having, which makes it hard to give an estimated time.
I know how it is to work on game forums, because I've been there myself. If you can't give an exact time when something will be released, people -will- whine. It's safer for everyone not to say anything untill you have full, solid information. If you do not say what people want to hear, they'll begin to complain, and in the worst scenario you have to pick up the banhammer. That's not a fun thing to do, not for you or for the moderators.

People always say "Give us an estimate!", and when they get an estimate, it may be longer than they wanted it to, and you're back to square one and how people are complaining about it taking too long.
Hiding behind guessworks is safer for everyone untill you know for sure.
I'm not the best at explaining, and some of it may not be understandable (I've never explained this before), but maybe I managed to shed some light on what might be going on.

How odd, seeing as how you have nothing better to do than to tell people to get a life.

are you that ignorant ? how is bioware being a dick to fans when there basicly updating every moment they can? i swear some of you posters need to seek some psychological help because if you really believe bioware is saying screw the fans than the problem isnt bioware

LOL, okay, I'll try to explain. It is a standard procedure to have a backup copy of installer. To test or AT LEAST launch it to see if it runs. To have a backup server to upload it to. To screw up LIKE THAT, oh yeah, you sure have to be a dick. This is beyond noobish.

first off chico yesterday was a holiday and secondly stuff happens dude but to literally believe they are a jerk to you says that you need  mental help and a real life. you see chris post and you see the twitter updates so why continue believing there not doing anything?

Update : I was too getting annoyed by this problem so i took a look at Miss Christina Norman's twitter Account and she says

"Yep! We are testing a fix you read this! @truffle [not everyone has access to shadow broker, I'm sure that will be figured out by the end.] "

So they have a testing fix going on so hopefully it'll be out a little later..:)

But not for it to be 1.5gb of 0's their had to be a problem with the original file. A corrupted file has random noise/data not just a LOT of 0's

Well,  I don't think anyone would buy a house without looking at it first, If so I'll sell you my house. Ilike I think tht is a bad example to use.

Is this the place I go to to nerdrage and make outrageous and unrealistic analogies or claims?

'Its like a fast food place that gives you a empty box then sits there and makes yo uwait for food even though its ready!'

'Its like buying a house only you get a lot without a house!'

 'They stole my money!'

They had an error. You can get a refund if you contact them. They aren't just sitting there with it and not giving it to you. Something caused a problem. Their fixing it.

You will get it eventually. Its a small delay. Its not the end of the world.

Might I suggest a life? Their free. All you have to do is walk away from your computer and stop freaking out that your fantasy game life is interrupted and you can't expand it.

Don't worry. Even your kind can go out into the world and find things to do. I even heard there is no release date for going down the road.

 Oh snap.

Oh, look, a fanboy! SURPRISE!

And one making assumptions at that. Apparently, you don't understand that it's the concept that BioWare/EA can have no problems with the infrastructure they use to charge us money, but they can't provide the product we're entitled with the same kind of expediency.

As well, people complaining about not receiving a product in a timely manner =/= a lack of life. But I appreciate your awesome observational and assumptional prowess, champ. Not to mention, the irony with which you post a decently lenghty response to the people who you claim to not have a life. OH, SWEET IRONY! You're also preaching to the wrong choir; I don't think anyone here changed loyalties or stopped loving BioWare; we're all just perplexed, baffled and simply unhappy that we didn't receive something we paid for right away, when we paid for it right away. It really shouldn't be our prerrogative to go out and seek a refund, as that wasn't the point of the purchase. Otherwise, I wouldn't have hit the "Submit" button upon payment in the first place. Did you think about that?

Also, it's spelled "they're." And there's a difference between "its" and "it's." Learn some grammar?

Oh, snap.
