I'll just be glad the Witch Hunt DLC also came out today, & will occupy my time with it.
Honestly, I've been such a fan of Bioware for so long, I don't even care about the delay. They are my favorite game developer, & I'll just be patient.
But I do understand those who were REALLY excited to play it being frustrated...

I have a ritual called "volus". I crouch in the shower in the "naked volus" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Mark Vanderloo or my own Shepard. I then start to hum the Mass Effect theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my volus leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy
I can't stop laughing. XD

You made me snort part of my carrot snack.
I can't stop laughing. No, really. I can't. I've been laughing for five minutes and it's making my bladder weaken a bit.
I think this post wins the entire damn internets.

errr okay... well i seem to remember once a buisness named SOE in 2004 or 2005 i think when they did a combat upgrade on SWG messed up greatly... and when asked to revert to the previous version on the servers.... they said " unfortunately we did not keep back up of the previous version" .... if some do it for a MMORPG then i dont wanna take bets on a normal game
If this is how BioWare does business, their MMO will never become the big money making machine they hope for.
You never did play World of Warcraft, did you? Blizzard has released so much staggeringly bugged content that it would make your head spin. Heck, sometimes it was caught on the test server and Blizzard released it anyway, only to have to patch it hours later.
Yes, it is a failure. But if you want scales, imagine losing a Mars lander worth hundreds of millions because your engineers got mixed up over the measurement system. Keep perspective.
But yes, they absolutely screwed up. And every company does have back ups but they are usually stored offsite. Probably not locally either. I do hope they tell us, though. I am seriously curious.

You see the problem is they have to debug 1.51 Gigs, that takes time. A lot of time. Debugging a file that is a fraction of that size can take a few hours, be grateful that it will probably be fixed within 20 hours or so by now.
That does not take a lot of time. All they have to do is pack all the files and add the installer, and they have a software that does that for them. Besides, a responsible company always has backups.
And a file with just zeros should never have been released. This says to me, they didn't even bother to test their own file at least once. Not only did PC gamers have to wait longer once again, apparently the PC platform doesn't even deserve proper testing anymore.
A failure of this scale is just inexcusable. Of course, sooner or later the correct file will be released. But this has already turned anticipation into anger.
Yeah! Rabble-rabble!
What's the point of a release date if it doesn't even imply that the steps necessary to prepare for release are being taken (complete build, test, re-test, etc)? Was it just an estimate? Did they just pump out whatever they had so far?
"Uh, it's not exactly an installer, yet." "Whatever, upload it and hope for the best."

I usually don't post on forums because they seem to be a waste of time but this .... this is silly.
I read the update expecting something informative but its just BioWare saying:
"Hey, we notice the problem, and we got it on our schedule of to do lists, next to the coffee cup in our employee lobby, on a sticky note.. If you got a PC, please wait, if you got an Xbox 360, enjoy your content that you've paid for."
(I feel as if I read that before - Oh yeah, with the problems with Dragon Age patches / DLCs.)
.... And everyone just goes, 'Ok'. All you paying customers go, 'Ok', when they just gave you little information on what they're doing and how they plan on fixing you. Not only do you, the paying customer, say 'Ok', you guys sit around and make conspiracies about M$ and BioWare doing some super-secret deal as if this is some crooked crop HBO mini series or something. Completely childish.
Normally, its nice to be kind and considerate to those who provide for you. Afterall, you have no part in the creation. But, it isn't like this is BioWare's first DLC launch and it messed up. They've messed up several times - Awakening, Dragon Age Patches, etc - with their DLC and you, the paying customer, just says 'Ok'. And you expect BioWare to actually fix things when not one person says this is enough?
How long did it take for BioWare to fix the problem with the DA:O patch that destroyed creating a character? (meaning your character creation screen was completely blank) Is that even fixed? Dont you consumers care about having stable DLC launched or what?
I just can't believe that developers can get away with producing absolute crap towards paying customers and people let them get away with it.
BioWare, I have complete respect for you when it comes to the games you publish but for the following content, I sware every other DLC you guys release has something wrong with it. Don't you guys have beta testers? Didn't someone see the code was wrong? I wasn't in the BioWare office when all the crap hit the fan, so I can't say much but what I will say is -
That this'll be the last DLC I purchase from BioWare, and I won't be buying ToR . Why? Because I think its crap how they treat customers who've purchased their stuff to such lackluster information when stuff goes wrong, and to broken content. If they can't get a few stable DLC's / Patches launched, I hate to see ToR.
Wall of text is wall of text.
I shall not read. You have wasted your time. I shall consolodate:
"Insert complaint here."
I'm sorry that I surpassed your reading level with a few paragraphs and thirty seconds of reading. Oh, I should of made it: 'u mad, bro?'. And I totally didn't know that you were so important that you can label what I do as a waste of time.
You have wasted your time. I shall deem (consolodate isn't a word):
"A cool story".
