Yep, on PC.

As to the shredder/armour piercing thing: Both are bonus powers gotten from gaining a squaddies loyalty. You can only have one of those powers at any one time, retraining just lets you select a different one, not an additional one.

I had my Shredder Ammo from the beginning, selecting it after I was being ressurrected by Cerberus, didn't need any squaddie to have that.
Probably shouldn't have trained in Armor Piercing though... something to remember on my next playthrough.

Honestly, I would prefer some planet invasion DLC, e.g. small numbers remntants of geth heretics have taken over of 10% of the planet and LEgion informs Shep about it. So everyone goes to have some fun ;p

its just an idea, i never was a good story maker

no more geth fight. I am tired of it. there will be something new for DLC. probably collector DLC will be better.

If only you've chosen to kaboom that heretic station instead of wash 'n rinse the heretics into rejoin the main geth fold...otherwise it won't make any sense story wise.

I thought Lair of the Shadow Broker was great! I like the other missions DLC, Overlord and Kasumi, but I loved how this had a bigger impact on the world, and dealt with Liara whose fate was left open in ME2. With that, the little touches such as the Shadow Broker recognizing Archangel when Garrus was in my group, and the dossiers with past conversations that were mention throughout the games. And now I am curious to see how it plays out in ME3.

One thing I've thought about the DLC that people seem concern is how people who get ME3 won't know about the Shadow Broker. I think one thing to keep in mind, most people who have played both ME games, are probably going to get the DLC as we are big fans. People who didn't start until ME2 were probably just a more casual fan of the series, and not hardcore as us. Also, I wouldn't be surprise if their is a conversation option in ME3 that discusses what happen.

One last thing about the DLC, and I can understand if the characters have no new dialogue since they probably finish voice work months ago, but if it's possible to reuse some old dialogue, I would prefer that. I was so happy to see Thane just say "This looks like trouble" after the explosion instead of them looking out in the distance, then look at you with nothing to say. I don't expect conversations with them, but I would prefer if they say something, and it could be very basic as that will feel more lively then empty in terms of team dialogue. Hell, just have Garrus say during a dialogue conversation "can it wait a minute, I'm in the middle of some calibrations."

well, it's the same thing that I never played ME 1 or never know the whole story before getting interest. but I had no problem to play through, understand the whole story after all because mass effect wiki, other books, comics have been really helped to understand. in the same way, people,  who never were interested in mass effect or never played before, will play with no problem just like me.

Just completed it and I'd say it's a miniature of ME2. All the things I like and hate from the main game are here. Combat, allies and general gameplay (where is the "crouch" button?!) were clunky as hell but some cutscenes and dialogue made me forget all that crap.

The only things that made this better than Overlord or Kasumi were Liara and the new base. IMO 800MSpts was too much. These 3 DLCs should be about half the length of the main game but they're barely 6 hours.

And I agree with Panderson, Bioware should really update the crew dialogue.

I enjoyed this DLC and IMO it is the best one they have produced so far. I thought the  DLC was better if you were doing a fresh playthrough, but you got less out of it if you had already finished the game (the extra research, credits and elements are practically useless if you have nothing to use them on). That said, it's probably worth the 800 BP if you are doing a playthrough from the beginning (something the PS3 players will appreciate later I'm sure).

It's unrealistic to expect them to change the game mechanics in this build of the game with a simple DLC addition. Changing the gameplay mechanics is something which is more likely to be introduced in a new title (i.e. ME3) than some DLC.

If you use the PC version of the game you can enable player crouching very easily - it takes a few minutes to edit the Coalesced.ini file - granted, it should really be in the original game but you can still add it to the game yourself if it bothers you (as I did ;)).

You consider combat in ME2 clunky?! I can't even imagine what you must be saying about ME1 combat then :) - "clunky" is exactly the word I've often been throwing around when talking about ME1 combat mechanics, while I feel ME2 plays almost as well as a decent, cover based third person shooter (with the added bonus of the RPG elements of course).

But back on topic, LotSB was just flat out awesome in my opinion - best piece of DLC (full expansion packs not included) that I've ever bought for any game. Great gameplay, lots of excellent dialogue, breathtaking visuals and last but definitely not least, a chance for my FemShep to spend some quality time with Liara again.

hahaha, MAN, what a GREAT DLC! I laughed so many times at all the little hints and things. oh FAR OUT, how amazing was that ship!!!! I knew bioware though - they spent so much time creating this ship on the outside that they had to give the players enough time to appreciate it. Great job, that ship is amazing. And that engine? Gosh, I love it! It was so exciting. I stood there for like 5 minutes just watching it going up and down.

The only thing I didn't really like was the shadow broker, or his office. Yea kinda cool that we get to see a new species but they introduced him to soon. We were still in the prison block and then suddenly were in his office...I'd have thought he'd have a much more glamorous dwelling, maybe somewhere with a cool view of all the lightning or something. Something more akin to Illusive man I guess.

And the new species? ... interesting but ... yea I'm not so sure. Actually, the more I think on it, the more I'm ok with it. But I hope we see more of his kind.

Gosh, all that info on the characters was fun to read. I laughed to many times at all the recordings. Like Mordin for example. I loved how it kept going back and forth calling each other that word...that I can't recall now. And how they said Kirahe (not sure how to spell his name) reiterating the importance of 'holding the line!' Lol, I love ME1 references.

And on Garrus' files:

Zel'Aenik nar Helash (wival specialist, serial killer) - Cough

LOL! Totally! Man that was funny. Everyone else is like...all these horrible deaths. Poor old quarian for a cough.

And Thane's log How to kill a krogran 101: Bomb. lol

Oh and probably one of the best bits: 'Joker asked if I had 'embraced eternity' as of late.'

Oh man bioware I love you.

This was the best DLC yet. MUCH more than I ever expected or could have asked for. I love how it ties in to the rest of the universe. It felt almost as if without borders compared to the other DLC's. As in, Liara comes back to your ship, you are allowed to go back to her etc. It's so exciting!

Many thanks, Bioware team! I will purchase this installment to Mass Effect 2 soon. Interesting, I had not expected the Shadow Broker to be a Yahg. Right on!

I liked that too. :D (Of course being a Mordin fan, I enjoy reading anything about him, especially his STG days.)  It was nice to read dossiers on the squad mates, it made them more fleshed out and real as characters. I also like Feron, he seems like a nice fellow. :)

The only thing I thing I was disappointed in the DLC was the Shadow Broker himself. I give kudos for creativity ( I especially like the design and the voice) but there wasn’t much surprise or emotional impact in the reveal. I was seriously hoping it was someone that we knew previously, even a minor character.
I don’t know why though…but when I saw the Shadow Broker’s face, it kind of reminded me of Majora’s Mask. 0_o

I have to agree. Like, a huge creature like that, with a 3 way mouth, a million teeth, and the kind of fighting skill he has really doesn't, to me, see the type to sit behind a desk for years organising and gathering information. planning stuff etc. He seems more like a krogan (even though they did mention that)

In all honesty, before we saw him, and they said 'he's huge'  my first thought was an Elcore. To an extent I could see them pull off something like this. maybe...maybe not. But still.

This DLC was phenomenal. I've liked them all but this one tied into the main story and was funny and varied and poignant in spots. I love how it effects your relationship to both TIM and the Council. You are no longer a pawn to either agenda. I found myself in both this and the Kasumi download just staring out of windows a the scenery. Great job Bioware! \\o/

Just finished Lair of the Shadow Broker for the PC. Still have extensive cutouts on the audio during the car chase. Beyond that, it is the best piece of DLC I've ever played.

Frankly I think ME1 has better combat. Just the ability to crouch allows me to approach situations better. ME1 also has better biotic powers and the weapon skills makes things different plus original design like the overheating weapons, not to mention more open areas. ME2 feels like a inferior version of Gears Of Wars' combat being all about being in cover and taking potshots and spamming powers. ME2 has better friendly AI but IMO it's still not nearly good enough

Simply put: I loved the game and this DLC when I wasn't playing. Generally games have stories as excuses to kill stuff but this time action is the excuse to progress story.

For the other reply about playing it with new Shepard: Perhaps it's better that way, but this DLC was supposed to be a link between ME2 and 3. Still, it was worth the 800pts a lot more than majority of DLC around

Which is also preferable any way you look at it... Translations into other languages always go awry.
I have played a number of games localized for german, waaay back when my english sucked, but I can tell you in retrospect that if a game is not developed in Germany, you can forget about translations to german (just an example as I don't speak polish or any of the other languages being affected).

I can understand english very well and prefer my games in english, it just "feels" right... and sounds right as well.

My thoughts exactly!

(On the side note, I'm hungarian, so I was screwed with this localization issue aswell, but I don't care as far as I could install it on my rig at least in English, then it was all hunky-dory. A little language practice never hurts anyone in today's world. :))

If I may make a suggestion from one non-native english speaker to another: Enable subtitles under gameplay options. There are a few situations where the voice actors speak very quiet and it is very helpful to "see" what they said :)

You can still install it and play in English.

You don't even have to download and install it in English!

Open the Registry Editor and find the folowing key:

32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ SOFTWARE \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ BioWare \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Mass Effect 2
or
64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ SOFTWARE \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Wow6432Node \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ BioWare \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Mass Effect 2

Inside find the String called "Language" and change the value from "cz" to "en". After the installation of any English DLC change it back to "cz"...

I guess instead of "cz" he would have to change "pl" to "en"... Hungarian players detto...

Everything smoothly playable, just a few lines of text in that particular DLC are in English, all else in language of your preference...

I have not played the game in polish or any other language apart from english, but I imagine that it can be pretty jarring when you play the main game in your preferred language and then have the DLC Content in another language.

In my opinion that is not really benificial to the immersion that usually comes with RPGs.

It was all the things I'd expect from a ME2 DLC.

Fastpaced, slick, funny, well-acted and entertaining. But... not an RPG, whatsoever.

You control the characters during fighting, and then sit back and watch the cutscenes. It isn't you cracking jokes or exchanging banter, you just watch it. It's an interactive chase-movie. A great one, but a movie none the less.

I liked it, but just like ME2, it won't have much replay value.
