The most anticipated add on in the history of computer games, one of the best games ever made by one of the bigest publishers out there...and they made a big booboo.

But for anyone that reads this, because there will probably be several trillion more commens by the time I hit submit, I understand that things go wrong.

I work in the ICT Industry and I have had things go wrong even though nobody really did anything wrong, its just the way it goes sometimes.

I just hope that Bioware can get it working before I have to go to bed.

On a serious note: how about a little bonus content like an exclusive piece of equipment as a little sorry candy for the poor PC-Players. ;)

now thats a killer idea but would only make it take longer, you do realize that right.

Probably end up being a SMG the fires blanks (zeros)

I guess you celibrated too early, and too many beers while you uploaded 1.5 gig of zeros.

Comon. this sounds something of a mistake you do when your drunk.

Oh well, thanks for the update.

While it's nice to finally have an update, it'd have been nice to just check the main website and see it, rather than visiting a forum I've never bothered to go to so I can see if I'm the only experiencing problems or if there was an issue with the download itself.

I understand that problems happen, but from what I gather PC gamers have issues involving ME2 DLC all the time, and I have to wonder why Bioware/EA hasn't even bothered to try to fix the issue at hand. It's common sense when releasing an executable file for download to test it to make sure it works, or if it's the correct file first.

Rather it would appear you just keep the packet on hand without bothering to test it out, then wait several hours before giving us an update that basically amounts to a half hearted shrug. I find this particularly worrying after learning of a history of this, and saddening coming from Bioware.

I'll wait for the fixed link, but I hope that this is an issue that shall eventually stop happening in the future.

This is not good Bioware, I am dissapoint.

Ya know if this doesn't get fixed soon you'd better add some more swag for the PC Users, this is quite dissapointing,  Not at all professional.

I thought they just had an error with compiling the installer, if it's full of zeroes. It's not like the whole DLC broke and wrote 0s on itself and now they have to remake it. I thought all they had to do was just re-compile the installer? I'm surprised it's taking so long. But alright Bioware, do your thing :)

Sorry, I don't really understand what the delay is, personally. I've built content installers before, and fixing a problem like this at least temporarily shouldn't take this long.

If they have a working installer on site, they should be able to upload directly to the server, usually via ftp and replace the bad file.

If they don't have a working installer, they should be able to use the template from Kasumi and other DLC to rebuild this DLC--the placement can't be THAT different.

An hour, two max should have resolved the problem for at least this download. I know that pinpointing what went wrong would take longer, but that can be done post-mortem instead of during.

He's posted a few times on other thread(s), and I doubt the problem is down to him.

Why is it the people who make announcements are fodder?

You've never heard the phrase "Shooting the messenger"? It's only been a widely known vice of mankind since the dawn of civilisation.

Bioware, major props for "eschatological." Never thought I'd see that in a game! Soundtrack kicks butt too!

People using Xbox Live for the Xbox 360 can download and play Lair of the Shadowbroker. If you are an Xbox 360 user, please go ahead and enjoy the new DLC.

PC users currently are experiencing a technical issue with the downloaded file that prevents ALL PC users from playing the DLC. We are aware of this issue and have taken the following steps:

  • We have removed the incorrect file from the download section so no further incorrect downloads will occur
  • We are working on a fix for the issue and will get a working file up for PC users ASAP
More detail
If you downloaded the incomplete file (it is essentially 1.5 Gig of zeroes) this will not harm your system
You will NOT be charged again once the correct file is ready for download
We do not have a more accurate eta for the correct PC DLC, but when we do I will let you know.

As soon as we have more information I will post it here. We are sorry that this occured and we appreciate your patience as we work to get the fix to you.

Wondering if i could ever read one of your posts and believe it was sincire....you need to remove the massive post on the main webpage that says the DLC is available people are looking at this and then downloading, its what i did..i only looked to the forums after wasting 30 minutes downloading it and it didnt work. This needs more than a sorry from you this time, every time DLC is released theres an issue....

[*]
[*]All other dlc has been fine and your not the only one who has to wait.

[*]no i disagree about being fine [*]OVERLORD crashed on my pc 3 TIMES [yes i run windows 7 32 bit and meet recommended specs][*]and kasumi crashed twice so not only LOTSB has it's glitches you see.....[*]edit: whats wrong with those bullet points in the posts i CAN'T TURN THEM OFF

[*]Yeah they downloaded fine though so the in-game issue is your pc i never had any problems
[*]Also why bullet points i cant either (my patience is wearing thin)

But he's damned if he does, damned if he don't. It was explained in another thread why it may take ages just to find where the problem started, and I don't like the idea of searching an paraphrasing, so..

In the end, if he says anything, there will be people to find fault with it. If he says nothing, there will be even more people throwing their toys of of their prams.

There is a reason "They say patience is a virtue".

is anyone else getting this error "This Version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86( 32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."?

Please, read the opening post. It's not working for anyone, installer was badly compiled, I guess. Well, doesn't matter, we just have to wait.

Anyways, thanks for the update Chris, and a small suggestion from my side: you should create announcement thread, close it right away and just modify/add to the first post and/or title when you need to. If this forums allow such thing, of course.
