We think we found the problem for the bug.
After Origins you get an auto-save that takes place after the coronation and epilogue saves, right.
Well, if you ever load that save (i.e. it puts you on the road, when you leave the road you go directly to camp) then the game messes up your flags.

So after Origins, if you do not want to be bugged, do not, under any circumstances play that auto-save, just immedietly import into either Witch Hunt or Awakening.

I have to play through all of Origins again, because my only save is in the epilogue. But many people have come out and confirmed that, whether by reloading and playing, or by looking at the toolset.

Funny how the community found it before Q&A, technical support, and developers. lol.

Well, that could be... I did load a save from Awakening that I made during the game (not an autosave) and I didn't get the bug.

So if you had romanced her there would be no conclusion to that? I had romanced her and she said something about me betraying her which I really didn't. All in all this DLC was horrible and I want my money back! I knew you liked to screw your mass effect fans but I thought that the dragon age fans would get a better treatment. Oh well I guess I will stick with bethesda, they seem to know how to fix their issues when they know the fans don't like it. Also bioware I have supported you for nearly a decade and you have spat in my face twice. There won't be a third!

At least the Lair of the Shadowbroker was completely full of win! Best DLC I have ever played for any game.

True but I have yet to see a DLC that couldn't have been in the final release. I feel like they made the game cut a bunch of content then are making us pay for what we already bought. I mean for god sakes the game was on 2 DVD's. If they do this to DA 2 I will say this company has completely lost it's soul and leave her for good.

False my good sir. I loaded my awakening save. And I still got the bug.

**************Somewhat Spoilerific*************

I am quite disappointed, especially comparing it to Lair of the Shadow Broker (it's unavoidable, really). Both promise revisiting a romance interest and tying loose ends. In LotSB you get to add Liara to your team and closure (all kinds of awesome-type closure, really), in WH you only meet Morrigan for one last cutscene that is quite open ended (probably to conclude in the sequel(s)). In LotSB you get to new and gorgeous locations, in WH you revisit old, boring places. In LotSB you get a companion respec option, more resources for the main game and little (sometimes very fun also) tidbits added to the already rich settings and characters while in WH you play with two characters that have no time to develop properly and/or grow on you and four (quite awesome at least) pieces of equipment for the main game/Awakening.
Without skipping any cutscenes and (at least trying) to explore both DLCs in their entirety LotSB entertained me for 3 hours and WH for less than one, I sincerely never imagined that three bucks could make such a difference. I really hope that the aforementioned and highly praised (by yours truly) DLC becomes the norm and that Bioware gets into gear for the Dragon Age sequel, because, IMO it's superior to ME, although not quite as polished.

To be fair, isn't Mass Effect DLC worked on by a completely different team? Not to disparage the current staff, but I was rather under the assumption that they were mutually exclusive, making it a little less than fair to compare the two.

So, has there been ANY word from Bioware about a bug fix? Because y'know you think theyd say something to shut us up. The problem now, of course is that nay fix that comes out will have to go through Microsoft/Sony's rediculously long process (I assume).

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD (but not intended)

...This DLC, if anything, only left me with more questions for the storyline than answers. What about Flemeth? And the child? Morrigan didn't really give a straight answer as to why she wanted the child. She hinted at things. Change for the world, blah blah blah, but she didn't really conclude the story. If anything, after seeing the ending for this, I was hoping for another true expansion pack, like Awakening. And what about Zevran and Leliana? Zevran was my character's love interest yet he didn't appear in any of the DLC, and Leliana only appeared in a prequel. Pardon my language, but what the hell? You can't possibly think this sorry excuse for a conclusion is good enough to be the final ending for the Grey Warden's story. Just No. Frikkin. Way. Just NO.

I didn't have the bug, my character was imported from Amgarrak, which was imported from Awakening. I performed the ritual with Morrigan and she acknowledges that I did. And at the very end of this DLC, Morrigan left more questions for me than answers, especially since my Warden chose to follow her to see his child. They just disappeared through the mirror and that was that. You call that a satisfactory conclusion? Well, it's not.

It seems to me that you people just threw this DLC together in a rushed attempt to finish DA:O instead of completing the previously promised 2 YEAR period of DLC for the game. All so you could move on to your next money maker, DA2. A game that does NOT carry on the story of the Warden, which is all I care about, and begins completely anew with a different character bearing the ridiculous name that I simply cannot, and will not, get over: Hawke. You have GOT to be kidding. Well, I can tell you ONE person who will not, under any circumstances, be buying that game. After all the talk about making DA:O a game in which our choices would have longstanding consequences, you go and ruin it with cheap consolation DLC and a so-called sequel that isn't really a sequel. You should be ashamed. This is how you treat the fans of your games? Make promises that you have no intention of keeping to get them hooked, then slap them in the face. I have certainly learned my lesson, thank you. This is one customer you've lost.

u sure **** this one bioware, witch hunt is just a waste of money. This DLC left more questions than answers, is a shame that had to end like that, i guess u just focus on DA2 for good. I just hope that u dont make the same mistake twice in making a mediocre DLC like this.

Right I have a major bug on my save ( I play on 360 )

Morrigan says that I didnt do the dark ritual with her, when I did. How do I avoid this?

Morrigan DLC was good! Though it could of been longer.

I hope we get more Morrigan and warden time in DA3, instead of this idiot Hawke.

From what I can tell it's caused from importing from Origins, from a save that takes place after the epilogue save... you know when you run around pretending it's before the final battle. I think that's causing it. If you load your character from the epilogue save itself, you should be fine.

Not truely a fix, but nice to know the cause... Now all they have to do is write a fix for it (even if its just an option at the start of Witch Hunt that allows you to fix the savegame flag error I would be happy).

I'm sure Bioware will fix it, but for now I'd just play it without using and saves after the epilogue in origins.

Sunk my 560 points into this. Download gets to 45% approx and keeps on failing.

Can't use the updater due to it not being fully downloaded. No matter how many tries I give it, I keep getting Download Failed.

Tbh, I'm a little envious of you guys who aren't experiencing this.

It's tough. It takes me forever to download Witch Hunt and install it. The first time I tried, it was broke, didn't install. second time, it worked, but still took a long time.

Dont forget guys there's no end auto save, that meAns that any choice we make in the dlc won't be imported into da2 and it won't effect morrigan when we see her in future.

I don't even know if I'm getting DA2... we shall see... I'm wondering how/if our Warden will EVER show up again. I have a feeling he wont, I think Morrigan will but the Warden no....

Has anyone played this with a female character save from Origins? If you had Alistair or Loghain do the DR and use the Epilogue save, does Morrigan acknowledge the Ritual?

I just did it on my mage (fem warden, romanced Alistair, made him king, accepted the DR). By importing the save named "post game save-epilogue" (i may have the words screwed up but you'll recognize it I hope),  She indeed recognized the ritual.

Nice. Yeah further evidence that the post-epilogue saves are causing the bug.
