In case you have not seen it, I just want to point you to a message from Mark Darrah, Dragon Age Executive Producer on the status of a fix for the Witch Hunt continuity issue (i.e. whether it reacts to Dark Ritual and Morrigan plot points from DA:O):

Look, I think the warden and Morrigan should be the ones to kill Flemeth, not Hawke. So I sure as hell hope that he doesnt kill Flemeth in DA2.

Unleash Flemeth/Morrigan/warden/godbaby in DA3.

i was very impressed with this DLC, best content out of them all by far. The programming is much smoother, I'm getting a much higher FPS in Witch Hunt than any section of DA:O or Awakening. Thanks for all the hard work guys and gals!

For me I thought this DLC ended well........for people who romanced Morrigan, not so much for everybody else. But the one major gripe I have that bothers me is Dog, It would have been so much better if he was to walk in the Mirror with Morrigan and the Warden. :crying:

Yes, I agree.  I can understand why they didn't bother; an Orlesian Warden may or may not have bonded with the Mabari, and while not every Origin has been with that dog since he was a puppy (specifically, Cousland), the point was that I really loved the dog, and wanted him to come with me.

Ah well.

But it wouldn't be a surprise if they told you what happened with the child or morrigan. Now would it?? All I did was tell her I wanted to come with her to met my son and her and I both went through the mirror together. I can wait for surprises myself.

Oh, I'm more than happy to 'wait for surprises'. ^.^ I never said that I wasn't. I'm just bummed out because BioWare has said that this is the last release for DLC, and it was a huge cliffhanger, and DA2 doesn't continue the story and is therefore unlikely to answer any of the questions that Witch Hunt left us with.

I do hope that they don't just throw in the fate of Morrigan and the child in some sort of epilogue, or prologue. I would love to have it be another game. If we can't have the Grey Warden back for DA3 (which I'm still praying for) then I hope we can at least have his child be the next protagonist in the series after *cringes at this name* Hawke, with references as to what the Warden's fate was. There was just so much left unsaid. Zevran and Leliana. At the end of Origins it said that Zevran stayed with my Warden, but he wasn't in any of the DLC or Awakening. So that's up in the air, too. There was just so much more then could have done with this.

I am also hoping that the entire Dragon Age series doesn't take place only in Ferelden. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm very eager to see some of the other countries that were only spoken of in Origins. Like Antiva and the Qunari lands. I would absolutely LOVE to see those two places. And the other Dwarven city as well, or other Dalish clans that wander countries and lands other than Ferelden. It would be fascinating. If I can't explore these places with the Warden I hope I can at least see them with his son,

I do hope they change this "can only play a human" thing that they've implemented with DA2 for DA3, if there is a DA3. It's a fantasy world! I play a human in real life 24/7, I don't want to play one in a video game, too. :D

I can agree with a lot of what you said. I am looking more forward to DA 3 than 2 since they basically made a cartoony mass effect in a different setting. I wish everything didn't have to be mainstreamed for the people who don't like old school design or games that offer a challenge. DA 2 will probably top Gears 2 as worst sequel I have ever played but that doesn't mean it won't be a good game just not legendary like DA:O. This might be one of the few game series that only gets worse as it goes along like Gears or Splinter Cell. Losing all the core mechanics it was once built on.

Well, no.  Bioware still made it very clear that Witch Hunt was the final DLC for DA:O.  The story of the Hero of Ferelden is still over.

Yes, but I have a feeling the warden will be mentioned based on decisions you made at end of Witch Hunt... like if you go with Morrigan... obviuosly they will have to explain that a bit... the god baby will have to be explained a bit... stuff like that. I doubt the Warden will ever be actually seen again... just because of the variety of customization we have, and no voice, but who knows what Bioware has planned...

I agree. It could be an awful game, but it could equally be as good as, if not better than DA:O. We will just have to wait and see Posted Image

i never really post anything but i feel that i must do it NOW.

but this what really bucked me.I play my warden and get to know these 2 decent charachters for 2 hours. that's a good thing BW. then the gameplay is ok I ches, I played DA:O alot so its get reapyt able. but then you go through the story and get WOW quest like 6 fade portals killed and 4 lichts catch kind of qeust. its just not fun its really stupid. and you just go in a fight like aah kill him wait for that do that its just not fun. and then there is the END. it isn't a end if it doesn't end BW its called a CLIFF HANGER and please do make another DLC or I will go insane. because i see morrigan and I,m like YEAH THERE SEE IS. and I talk tho here not even talken about the book or what the F mirrior in front of us really doese(I know it gets you tho youre child probely but where is that another world or dimension?) and see make's me whant to know more but you don't get to Know just letting you hang there and when you go throug the mirrior whit here WHAR THE HELL IS GOING to happen to your compainens? and what doese happen whit you, morrigan or the baby(myne is a god baby you that's really cool) you don't get to know.

so im really dissapointed in the DLC and please BW if you really whant to do something for youre fans JUST PLZ tell us atleast what happens whit morrigan and/or the warden (the baby is something for the future I get the hint) that al you need to do to get people to be happy and for the people who don't care about morrigan you should because see can have a GOD BABY how doese that not sound cool.

Stupid question but what is the bug that's affecting people? What are you supposed to get and aren't getting? My ending seemed fine to me but I don't know.

*****SPOILERS*****

In my Origins play through I had Alistair do the dark ritual with Morrigan since my Warden was with Leliana. Morrigan did have a 100% disposition towards my warden at the end of the game and gave me the whole friend speech before the archdemon battle. My ending for Witch Hunt, had Morrigan go through the portal by herself and revealed that the child wouldn't come back to take the Ferelden throne (guessing because Alistair is king and is his father?). She calls me friend in a sad voice and leaves.

****END SPOILERS****

I do agree with many though, this DLC didn't clear up anything, just left me with more questions. However I do not know if my ending is bugged or not.

I don't know if it helps, but I imported a save from Golems into Witch Hunt. The character imported to Golems was from Awakening that was imported from Origins. I don't know if our choices were carried this far. I dind't play it (Witch Hunt) again.

I really enjoyed this DLC. The story was awesome (the elves who hide themselves from Tevinter in Cadash Thaig was my favorite part) and the references were hilarious: the two mages talking about pets, the notes on the books, etc. And I really enjoyed when Finn mentioned Anders. It was a shame that we couldn't inform him about Anders.

I really hope this patch comes sooner than later 'cause the bug (the Dark Ritual not being recognized) was the only problem in this DLC. I hope that after the fix Morrigan give us more answers.

I already expected that we wouldn't get a lot of answers, just different questions. After all, they intend to make of Dragon Age a huge series.

I read about the bug before I imported my character, so here is what I did: I loaded a save from Origins before the Archdemon rooftop fight. Quickly killed the Archdemon, shook everyone's hand and then save the game "Post-Coronation" before going out of the throne room to be loved by the crowd. I loaded that save into Witch Hunt, and I did not have the bug. The Dark Ritual was specifically referenced (though not called the dark ritual) by Morrigan.

OK, since the Bioware folks must be feeling really discouraged reading all the complaints and since most people who were happy with it aren't going to post anything, I thought I'd share my perspective. *SPOILERS*

- I really enjoyed the companion characters, especially the voice acting (and of course Claudia Black was great as usual as Morrigan), and I loved that Ariane could understand Dog! And Finn was like "The Librarian", Ferelden-style.

- It was clear to me from the beginning that this was meant to be a fairly linear run through to a final confrontation/conversation with Morrigan. Even little clues like all of the companions' equipment being marked only for that companion reinforced that we weren't meant to do much "fiddling"/optimization and that this wasn't going to be a very long adventure.

- Great touches of humor, including multiple references to Anders' past misadventures. The templars probably kept his phylactery in a special "quick access" spot. :-) Also, other little details like the templar looming suspiciously whenever you talked to Sandal added to the sense of realism.

- I had been looking for the boss monster ever since it was mentioned early in the module, so it didn't surprise me at all that Morrigan had apparently done the research to turn it to her purposes and have it attack us, even with a Dalish elf in the party. No, it wasn't a Harvester-tough battle, but I didn't mind - I wanted to get on with seeing Morrigan.

I'm not surprised that people who ran through the whole thing in an hour or less didn't get much enjoyment out of it (and I'm sure if I'd gotten the "no DR" bug I would have been very frustrated). My runthrough was just under 5 hours according to the savegame info, including reading every book and codex entry, stopping to listen to the party banter before it got cut off by rushing into combat, etc., and I thoroughly enjoyed all the great writing and other aspects of it. For less than the cost of a 2-hour movie, this was a great little download!

As for the ending, I went in with +100 friendly, had a romance at one point but chose Leliana instead, did the Dark Ritual myself (deciding that a magical ritual requiring sex didn't really count as "cheating" on her), and got the "your son is fine but he doesn't know yet that he's an old god" and "sorry, you can't come with me, my friend" ending, which made for a perfectly bittersweet, hopeful yet slightly tragic, conclusion-for-now that felt completely "real" for my character. My regret that I hadn't ended my "main" warden's Origins story with the Morrigan romance active was perfectly echoed by his offer to go with her (leaving Leliana behind) and her refusal.

I figured the overall result would be a cliffhanger since Origins is just the first of a trilogy, as I understand it. The only "no, wait, it can't be over right here!" moment was that I didn't get to see whatever surprise she left me along with the Dalish book - I'm not clear when we'll get to find out what it is, if this is supposed to be the end for our warden....

Were there a few imperfections? Sure, but the only ones that bothered me were related to my own roleplaying of my characters motivations. I thought it a little strange that the Hero of Ferelden, former mage of the circle, would stop by the tower without paying his respects to the First Enchanter (even a brief comment from the new templar that maybe the First Enchanter was away for a meeting of the College of Magi or something would have covered this). More importantly to me, I wish I'd had the option in conversation with Morrigan, both here and in the original Dark Ritual, to tell her that I completely supported her plan to reclaim the soul of Urthemiel and that I wanted to help her with that in whatever way possible. Her line in Origins that "Some things are worth preserving" was exactly what my character had been wishing for since reading about the darkspawn corrupting the old gods when they found them slumbering. My first thought as a player when I read the codex entries on the old gods was "oh, no - there are only two more left", followed by "and the god of beauty has already been corrupted", so the possibility Morrigan raised of reclaiming his soul was huge. The writers did a great job allowing the warden to express a wide variety of religious belief, but I was disappointed they didn't provide options for feeling the same way as Morrigan.

Anyway, now to go finish that Origins run-through with a warden who will get Morrigan's ring at the end. :-)
