New combat and graphics is nice, but seriously when you take away my character "the warden"
I'm like wtf is point seriously? I don't care about the hero of Kirkwall new graphics and combat. Character continuation is what's important.

As well you should. Re-used levels
without any kind of closure to what is the last time we'll ever play as
the warden. **** yeah I'm pissed, wait till DA2 comes out and we get
some kind of blurb about how the warden was killed by Flemeth or
something and this new douche has to finish the fight. "I'm commander
Hawke and this is my favorite screw-over in Ferelden."
Both quoted for emphasis. Come on BioWare, listen to your customers! Don't assume you know what we want and don't try to tell us what we want. We're telling you for ourselves. I know it's too late to change Dragon Age II, but PLEASE, don't make the same mistake with the next game.
They know that the people posting on their message boards are only a small <1% of people who bought the game. They don't give a ****, frankly.
*sigh* I know the people here are just a small percentage of the player base... But I don't think we're the only ones who feel this way. Dragon Age: Origins was so popular because of the freedom of choice it gave us, as well as the chance to build characters that were truly OURS. That was its appeal, why we all loved it. I cannot bring myself to believe that a large percentage of the players, whether they post here or not, will be very pleased with the directon DA2 has taken. DA2 is taking all of that away, it's removing some of the larger reasons DA:O was as successful as it was despite the less than phenomenal graphics and the lack of voice acting for the main character. Because that character was truly ours. Hawke is not ours...he's BioWare's. It's just not the same. And his story won't complete the missing pieces of Origins, nor should. That should go to our Wardens. DA:O was so well recieved because BioWare said that the actions we made in Origins would influence the future of the Dragon Age universe, but now they're undermining their own words.
BioWare has stated that they listen to what is said on these forums and take it into consideration. Let's see them prove it. Now is an excellent time for them to show us that they actually DO care what the fans of their games think, is it not? But if they don't... If they choose to ignore their fans and instead continue to heap on the insults, then I'll just wash my hands of them entirely. I'll still play Dragon Age: Origins because I adore the game and my Warden, but I won't play any of the others in the series. I'll make up my own ending for the Warden. I may just be one person, but why should I give my hard earned money to a company that treats its fans so poorly? So, we'll see.
I'm not giving up hope yet.
I am actually surprised by the amount of negativity generated about DA:2 in concerns to having 'Hawke' as the protagonist. Admittedly the feature of origins that was most engrossing for me was the ability to create a character that is personal and unique every time the game is started, but I am actually remaining optimistic about the new DA2.
I am not too hot on the idea of voice acting your character, I think at times it tampers with the immersion factor and separates player from character... but even so I think carrying on 'the warden' will eventually get stale, I would rather more DLC for origins (or longer and more well made ones perhaps) than making it the main prot again.
I think people aren't giving this enough of a chance, I like the idea of moving on to other parts of the dragon age story and expanding beyond the warden character. I think it will give more depth to the universe.
Well at least that is what I hope, I am going to put some faith into Bioware and let them take me on a different adventure instead of wagging my finger at them for not letting me stay with the first.... though I will say that I am disappointed that the last DLC was so flat and didn't, in my mind, tie up the loose ends of the tale at all. I don't think they should have introduced two new characters, whom we barely get to explore at all, and not bring back any of the old characters to participate in the finale (bar morrigan of course)
I miss Alistair actually, my right hand man wasn't really in any of the DLC
