Wow.....

I was thinking about buying this DLC, but....35 pages mostly consisting of, "yeah, it's crap," have eradicated that idea.

Sorry you guys. :( Not the best way for a game to end.

I already made the A.D.A.M. The Anti-Dragon Age II Movement! Sign up! Anti-Dragon Age II is, of course, Anti-Hawke by default. I mean, he IS the reason we're all so opposed to this alleged 'sequel'.

Oooh... Maybe I'll make an A.D.A.M website! :D

I'm an adult. o.O

Granted people still like to call me a kid. I'm a legal adult, but I am a young one.

And for Gbone27, why should we have more faith? BioWare gives us no reason to have faith. They've already lied to us. Misled us. Broken promises to us. Dumbed down other games that we loved aside from Dragon Age. I show faith where faith is deserved. But I refuse to trust a company that's rapidly showing me why they DON'T deserve it.

BioWare is a GAMING company. Not a religious group, not a branch of government, not anything that's deserving of blind faith. Not that anything really is deserving of that anyway.

I've read every scrap of news I can on DA2. And all that I have read, much of it coming from BioWare themselves mind you, quotes from their own developers, only make me even more Anti-Dragon Age II. So, no, I will not 'have more faith'.

I'm not going to let them think it's okay to continue ruining good games. Trying, and failng, to blend RPG with action. With taking away the freedom DA:O offered. Forcing us to play a freaking premade HUMAN character on a FANTASY game. Just NO. That sort of attitude is exactly why gaming companies like BioWare keep pulling nonsense like this. I use to have that attitude as well.

I used to say "Well, I don't like this sequel, but I'll still buy it and give it a chance. And I'll have blind faith that the next will be better'. It never was. And I'm not doing it anymore. I will not give MY money to a game and a company I am thoroughly disgusted with.

Edit: For those who still want to try this game, but who are also disappointed with how things are turning out. Why not simply rent it? That way you can try it out without spending a fortune on a game you might just end up hating. Better than just buying it right off the bat, no? Once you buy it you're stuck with it and BioWare has your money.

I have to agree, I'm so sick of games being "mainstreamed" and dumbed down, hell, that sounded like my rant when I found out about the changes as well. It's funny, I think I said almost everything in that video when talking with people about DA2, DA2 will be like ME2 was to ME1, dumbed down and more action than rpg.It seems that true rpgs are really dead, most games now will have some rpg "elements", but are very mainstreamed and just don't have that feel to them that past rpgs have had.
Anyways back on topic, I have to say that even with a fix in the works this dlc was a disappointing way to end, I think I have more questions now than when I started it and really didn't get much closure. Add to that the buggy ending and I find myself wishing I hadn't rushed to get both new dlc they released.

You can't  honestly think DA2 will be better than Origins? Can you? Sure it might be an alright game...but still...nothing compared to the original. There is no warden, no old companions...and even if there was would you like them to be romancing Hawke? No.

Hawke is voiced and we have that stupid dialog wheel in Mass effect. Which will make Hawke say something completely different to what it says on screen. Plus it will be shorter, with shorter dialogs.  It's an RPG for christ sake. Not suppose to be another action game.

Me?

Well...I'm done with the warden.

I gave him a good ending, he has a LI, fought and defeated several enemies that could kill him over and over. He save the lands, made his cousin a bann, help dozen of people handle their personal problems, and personally just became a Grey Warden from the legend.
Now, if there is another evil lurking somewhere and My warden is not too old, he may come out for one more epic battle.

People complain about how Hawke not being their. Well, I can see where they coming from...I just don't agree with them.

Hawke will be mine.

Just like how Shepard, Darth Reaven and the Baldur gate god was.

Huh, Shepard was not mine. He had his own personality and attitude...I just either clicked on agree or disagree basically, and we went on about blah blah...something completely different to what it says on screen.

Again I say, too much was left undone for our Warden. I mean, honestly. Are you really happy with so much being left unresolved? Leliana, Sten, Zevran, Morrigan... Sten and the Qunari possibly invading. Shale trying to become flesh again. Leliana, if you chose her. Or Zevran, if you chose him. What about that invitation to join the Crows? The Architect, if you let him live? Morrigan and the child she had with the WARDEN. I can't see Morrigan teaming up with Hawke over the father of her child, or the ally she grew to trust and depend on if your Warden is a female.

I played Mass Effect, and I tried ME2... Shepard was fine, but he was a premade character from the get go. He wasn't mine and I never once felt that he was. I liked him the way I like Cloud from FF7 or Locke from FF6. I wasn't as attached to him, as involved, as I was with the Warden. We were told that Dragon Age was to be a different sort of ROLE-PLAY game. One in which we the fans were given a level of control never before offered in the console video game. That's what drew us in. Mass Effect gave us a premade character from the start so it wasn't as jarring to have Shepard back for ME2. But how would the fans have liked it had BioWare completely eliminated Shepard and brought out a whole new character for ME2? I doubt it would have been well received. And that is what they've done with Dragon Age by removing the Warden, especially when we weren't given any REAL closure.

Now that BioWare has drawn us in they're going back on everything they promised Dragon Age would be and turning the sequel into a fantasy ME2 rip-off. Not okay.

I wont add to much, as most of you have said very well how I feel.

But I'd like to add my name here in case they read these forums.

If Witch Hunt was free it would still be a wast of download time. I feel cheated and ripped off, and I will skip DA2 as well with great ease. I really liked DAO so its to bad.Surely they could have hired Morrigan's voice actress for a little longer.

I also really liked LOTSB so they will still get my money from Mass Effect games. If they give DA2 to me for free as a apology for the garbage Witch Hunt insult, I would accept that.

You made me think of something when you mentioned "If Witch Hunt was free..". IF it would have been free, would we still be all here voicing our concerns? Which brings me to my next point, getting my money back for this would not appease me at all. Not that I'm infuriated, but simply extremely disappointed and that getting my cash back wouldnt bring back my interest. I dont mind paying for quality.
I will play DA:O again, I know that, but now is not the right time.

If it was just that , then it might not be as much of an issue, but they are doing to DA what they did to Mass Effect, which is dumb it down, mainstream it, and take away from the rpg feel of it to make a few more sales. Basicly they're making an action game with some rpg elements, like ME2 was pretty much a shooter with some rpg elements.
