Approximately an hour and 10 minutes for me, on hard mode. My warden was level 35.

Mostly took that long because I always have to explore every nook and cranny possible.

Did anyone else think the Varterral was an epic failure? I beat it on Hard mode with no difficulty even when Finn died.

It was kind of disappointing. Too easily defeated for a creature that was supposedly created by the Elven gods. And with the dragons that would pop up and join the fight it should have been a lot more than it was.

Well, on Nightmare, with my Arcane Warrior it was a battle best described as a 'hard slog' as opposed to hard. If you understand the difference.

Fairly quickly, Finn, Kronos and Ariane were taking a nap, leaving me to take it on all by myself. As a result, although there never really was any point at which I was almost down and out, it just took quite some time for me to hack away at its health faster than it was healing itself. ( usually when it hit me with its form of Crushing Prison, or whatever that attack it has is called )

Meanwhile, why was Flemeth's hut so cosy at the beginning ? It was a year from me having last been there and yet the fire was lit, it looked fairly clean inside, as though someone was stil living there !

If so who and didn't they mind us all piling into their hut ?

Uh...it took me about 2hours on hard, I'm not replaying it again until the patch. My save was bugged.

Who loved the short Sandel cameo? lol "Hello doggie!"

She recognized the DR that she done with Al. I just wish there wasn't such an abrupt ending that left more questions than answers

Took me only about an hour playing seriously. The Vartarrel was a bit too easy, only was able to kill off the wolf I summoned...the rest were a few scratches that some health poultices easily took care of.

I went through this in thirty minutes on easy the other night, but this was for testing the patch.

I agree the vartarrel was way too easy, the Harvester was like ten times harder.

Yes. I played on Nightmare and lost no one and I didn't have to pause for tactics. It took me way longer to click all the books in the library ... and I think its safe to say that process was more difficult as well.

I didn't read the whole thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but why does Bioware reuse the same locations in Dragon Age DLC but not in Mass Effect DLC? Stop treating Dragon Age like a step child, Bioware.

A) there are different design teams (I'm fairly sure).

B) They just didn't care.

EDIT: Bah, too snarky for my own good. The Real reason is probably that they wanted to connect Morrigan and the DLC with the events of the game, by having to visit old locations in order to track her down, and having her appear in a location that is rather important in the expansion.

Umm, my impression after finishing, "Was this it?" Honestly, a bit of a hoodwink here, by bioware, eh?

This, I bet the Harvester was harder on Normal than the Vatarrel was on Nightmare.

Harvester was harder, I played this dlc on nightmare with just my AW doing everything and leaving the others sitting there to try and get some challenge, but I never even came close to dying. My AW is a beast though, but still, playing the golem dlc I got worked over by harvester more than once, about 8 times on nightmare actually. This dlc wasn't that hard at all, too short and buggy endings, disappointing way to end the dlc for this game especially after promising 2 years of dlc and ending it sooner.

The more I think about it, the more likely it seems that the Eluvians lead right into the Black City. I posted earlier about why I thought about it... anyone else want to agree/disagree with me?

Probably cost versus return issues.  Reusing areas already made means they don't have to spend time creating new areas.  That saves on the cost of developing the DLC.  While Bioware hasn't really said much about the success of Dragon Age's DLC, I'm under the impression from various sources that the problems/delays that pushed Ostagar back hurt sales of DLC for the game in general.  There has also been talk that DA wasn't really built with DLCs in mind, making the creation of them more time consuming (and thus expensive), while ME2 was built with the idea in mind from the beginnng.  Presumably ME2's DLCs are doing better and thus they can justify higher budgets for them.

The Black City is in the Fade, and can be seen there, and Morrigan says that the Eluvian takes her beyond the Fade.
