If delivering what they promised is spoiling DA2 then I am pretty sure I am making a great decsion in not purchasing DA:2. If DA:2 is soley about providing closure for DA:1 then it will be a sad game. I was under the impression DA:2 was about an epic 10 year adventure... of course U was lead to believe Witch Hunt would give me answers as well.
I guess this is the "glass half empty" opinion!
I don't know, I enjoyed it...jesus, it was only a few bucks, folks.
Right, only a few bucks. That I spent. That I could still have had I known that the description of the DLC was the exact opposite of what happened.
I don't want to cry bait and switch or false advertizement, but this DLC simply DID NOT delivier on what they said it would. It didn't give any answers, not a single one, when they said it would. It didn't end the Wardens story, at all, when it said it would. It's a lot like a webisode released to promote the next installment. It adds ccontent, informatino, but nothing needed to progress or to finish the story.
WHy did you buy it right away without reading reviews? If you find yourself getting that disappointed over it, you are a candidate to NOT buy anything the day it is released.
Right, I was the only person to buy it on release day without wanting to spoiler it. God Forbid that I expect to purchase what's advertized. I gues lesson learned and all that. I can sincerely say that I won't be buying anything else BioWare puts out until I can be assured that it's legitimate.

You most certainly were not the only such person. In spite of finding previous DA:O DLC a mixed bag, I had a lot of faith that Bioware would make Witch Hunt - in particular, the reunion with Morrigan - awesome. I bought the Bioware points as soon as I found out how much WH would cost. While I enjoyed Ariane and Finn, Morrigan was the reason I felt so interested - and, on that front, I was disappointed. Now I shall be waiting when it comes to DA2 DLC, as the DA:O DLC has shown that Bioware is quite capable of putting out mediocre DLC for an amazing game. Thus, even if DA2 knocks my socks off, it'll be worth waiting to see what its DLC is like.tbsking wrote...

Live and learn, yes? While it's a little sad that I can no longer keep to my "it's Bioware, therefore it shall be awesome" rule, no one's perfect, including my favourite developer. It's worth realising that.

While I agree in part with what you said, I believe BioWare is capable of putting together a DLC that will rock your socks with each DLC they release. Now I don't know what is causing this, but my main thought is the complexity of the game, in that it is so diverse allowing for total character development, which is amplifying it exponentially, causing unforeseen issues. With that being said, one must ask themselves, why can they create such Great DLC’s as in the ones created for ME 2? All you need to do is play the ME 2 DLC’s, which I do, but take a look at their threads and you will see the DLC compliments scattered throughout.
So, whatever the reason, I am sure they will prevail and produce a product to which we can be proud of and totally enjoy all that it in compasses. My (As well as all of the others who buy and play) big question for the future is, “Will I continue to support BioWare through Game Launch purchases’, Expansions and DLC’s. I surly will be making those purchases and will continue to support BioWare for the foreseeable future! I mean I have been playing their games since Never Winter Nights Series, which became and still is a owner driven force like no other I have seen on the web! Check out their forums and you’ll see what I mean, driven is an understatement, but it’s all I can think of for now…
So now I wait for the 1.04A patch that is due out for the PC today, providing they were able to resolve the bug they found over the weekend. I do believe they have handled this bug issue better than they have for any other DLC for DAO. If they can keep that form factor hence forth, they will eliminate a lot of user despair and frustration for the future. Of course that’s just my 2 cents….

Basically, Morrigan claims the Warden didn't do the Dark Ritual even if he did. This caused much dismay, because: 1) It was arguably the biggest choice in DAO and 2) it could have relevant consequences in DA2.
This happens if you import a character from the post-epilogue of DAO (=when you keep playing after defeating the Archdemon and go back to your camp and visit DLC locations,etc.). A previous save (ex. from the coronation room) works fine.
Also, there was supposed to be a final auto save, possibly to allow to import the final choice of the DLC to DA2, but it's missing.
They're working on a patch which was supposed to be released today.

I certainly believe Bioware is capable of doing so - but, in my opinion, when it comes to DA:O, they have not done so. I was willing to be a bit more patient and forgiving up to now, because I thought they were just going through a bit of a slump, but, given that they decided Witch Hunt would be the last DA:O DLC, I would have thought more substance would be put into this last product.Gunny5821 wrote...

I firmly hope they prevail and produce wonderful DLC for DA2, but I am not sure of it. Time will tell.Gunny5821 wrote...

(Furthermore, I believe that it helps Bioware if, when we dislike a product of theirs, we explain why. Politely and respectfully, of course. But if those who weren't satisfied with Witch Hunt don't say anything, then we have only ourselves to blame if we get more of the same with DA2 DLC.)
I've been playing Bioware games since Baldur's Gate. And I've been building with and modding Neverwinter Nights since its release. (You can see some of my work in the "my Vault entries" link in my sig.) You won't get any argument from me that Bioware don't produce good games. I have simply been disappointed by DA:O DLC, and thus will be more cautious when it comes to DLC from the Dragon Age franchise. Not more cautious regarding DA2... Not more cautious regarding further DLC from the Mass Effect series... Just cautious regarding that which I feel I have cause to be more cautious about, based on my experience to this point. :-)Gunny5821 wrote...

I'm a beta tester for it. Testing is going fine. One more issue came up, but it's not one I can help with, as it applies just to Wardens who fathered Morrigan's child. I'm hopeful for a patch release not too long from now. In general, Bioware has been very quick to respond to and deal with the bugs in this DLC.Gunny5821 wrote...

She does? She didn't to me.
She agrees to let me go with her then when we step into the gate the game goes to credits. Is that suposed to happen?

The bug only happens to those that continued to play Origins after the post-epilogue save(Game ends, credits roll and then you reload the game and play post epilogue to finish DLCs, sidequests, etc...), luckily I didn't do that so no bug for me either.
As for going through the mirror with her, yes that is supposed to happen, it's one of the three choices you have:
1-Go with Her(As my Warden did ;P img411.imageshack.us/img411/6590/screenshot2010091009453.jpg)
2-Let her go
3-Attack her

Here's what Fernando posted about it yesterday (I bolded the pertinent part):

Just a quick notice that we're
going to delay the patch - over the weekend we found one other bug which
was fixed and we're currently testing.
We'll be contacting the
beta group again to try this out and hope to deliver the full PC patch
to everyone tomorrow instead. We'll do same for console patches.
Thanks again for your patience folks.
There was no promise it would be out today.

Off topic, but the Sentinel Armour looks really good on your cap for some reason. I don't know why, I'm playing on a 1080 P HD TV and the graphics still look wonky.

IMO Morrigan's story deserves a full expansion pack, not just because she had the child with your GW but its a huge foundation towards DA:2.
