Disappointed that they decided to bulk and make a quick DLC that really answers nothing. Really the only point that can transfer over to DA:2 from Witch hunt is the NPC's talking about the Warden going into a portal with the witch of the wilds.

IMO Morrigan's story deserves a full expansion pack, not just because she had the child with your GW but its a huge foundation towards DA:2.

I think most people will agree that Morrigan's story need more than a DLC.

Even if they had to make it into a DLC, I rather have my Warden sacrifice his life to save Morrigan's and my child.
Hopefully they see all this backlash and produce something worthy to end the Grey Warden's story.

I think most people need to realize that this DLC is meant solely to span the gap between DA:O and DA:2. The whining and complaining in here is ridiculous. What most people seem to forget is that Bioware doesn't actually have their heads collectively stuck in the sand, and that they (contrary to popular belief) are not improvising this series as they go along.

People who bought Witch Hunt: what were you expecting for $7? There was absolutely no-way Bioware was going to ruin this story with a 1 hour DLC. The entire point of Witch Hunt was to tie up loose ends. And no matter -what- conclusion your Warden created for him/herself, the end result was always the same: Morrigan, one way or another, is dealt with.

I for one, am glad Bioware doesn't comply with all the pitchfork wielding posters here: if they had it their way, each DA game would be about 2-3 hours in length with little or no improvement upon the previous installment whatsoever. Instead of expanding on the universe, we would all be relegated to one person's POV... and that sucks.

It's more than obvious Morrigan's story doesn't end here. Bioware actually has the mental capacity to look further ahead down the road, instead of just at their own two feet, which is what most posters are currently doing. They know just how compelling the Dark Ritual is- which is why they've planned it so that all of it's encompassing consequences/results will span the DA series accodingly.

Guys, please don't misunderstand me- I loved my Warden. Dallan Amell is possibly the most memorable PC I've ever created within the realms of gaming. It's great to see the job Bioware did with this game (how attached everyone is to their Wardens), but life in Thedas goes on. Please, just give DA 2 a chance before you roast it. If you play it and you absolutely hate it, that's fine by me: you will have been justified in your anger. But until then, can we just assume Bioware knows what they're doing?

I guess I'm at odds with most then, but this was my favourite dlc. Sure, it didn't exactly answer many questions, but then again it felt the most "attached" to the game, with many references and even answered some stuff I totally forgot about. Reused areas didn't feel like a cheap excuse, because they made sense and who knew that just going backwards in an old linear area would make it feel new. And a nice teaser to DA2 hehe.

Witch Hunt, the last DLC add-on for Dragon Age: Origins, has been released! Experience the final chapter as the Grey Warden pursues Morrigan and the secrets she carries.

Note: Witch Hunt is now available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America. It will be released during the afternoon on September 8, 2010 on the European PlayStation Network.

The last download content?

I wish I could find the quote that someone from BioWare had said nbot to long ago that they were going to make several more downloads.

I think they've given everything they've got to DA2 now.

Although they could periodically put out DLCs to keep the interest alive. But they shouldn't have any choices transfer over to DA2 because then it could get so much complicated, if it isn't already....!!!!!

Man, you aren't at odds with most people here.  There is always a very vocal, angry minority that will spend more time here complaining than actually playing the game.  I would bet most people enjoyed it, even if it didn't "wow" them.

The whining on this forum is ridiculous.  This self imposed sense of entitlement because "I paid seven bucks for it" is hilarious.  What happens if you go and see a Matinee movie and it stinks or wasn't what YOU expected?  Would you spend hours lashing out on some movie forum about it?

How about we spend some more productive time in our lives.

got the same bug as everyone. very disappointed with the ending.
she says i havent done the ritual... argh
very frustrating.

the ending kills everything. I waited the whole day to see what my warden would say and what morrigan would say, then she says I denied the whole ritual -_-

I have a werid question did anyone play with with just their Origins NOT their awakening character?? I first played through with my contionus awakening charater, i got the bug. I'm now trying to play thru with the same character but not with the awakening save. Before i waste my time i wanted to know if anyone tried this?

Yeah I played through it with two saves from DA:O.
One was a post epilogue save, the other was during shales DLC after the post save.

The bug was the same for both of them.

I think they have a patch in the making. Last I heard it was actually working, but it was still in the beta testing phase and therefore (afaik), hasn't been released to the public yet.

The only reason I am complaining is because the teaser for the DLC stated "Morrigan's secrets revealed", that our Warden's would get some closure. But neither of those happened, she didn't answer a single question, only presented new ones, essentially advertising for DA2.

Game breaking bug aside (which I got) that was the only reason I was upset with the DLC. Up until the encounter with Morrigan I was actually really enjoying it: The new companions, the funny book titles in the library, the whole elvish theme with all the guardians. It was just the end that made (for me) the DLC go from great to rather really mediocre.

I was happy that my romance with Morrigan ended well (the bug aside, once again, I have to pretend it didn't happen), so technically my warden may learn the reasons behind her actions, but I as a player didn't, which was one of the sole purposes behind the entire DLC to begin with.

I probably enjoyed this DLC more than any that I played since my main warden was head over heals about Morrigan and seeing those two head off together meant a lot to me. It provided a great amount of closure. It was short but it was as if someone took a weight off me. It was one of the DLC that really brought me joy and it did.

Out of curiosity what questions weren't answered exactly? I thought Morrigan made it very clear what it was she was doing. In fact what she's doing is exactly what was answer, and whether she directly answered it or not doesn't mean it wasn't answered. The only thing that wasn't answered is what Flemmeth is, and where she is going. Pay attention to everything she says and then look at what she's doing and you'll get your answers.

And the questions they brought up were pretty much to build interest in the second game which I had kinda been expecting anyway. Still what wasn't answered?

I agree, people need to stop whining about witch hunt.
''Bioware said whe would get answers!!!"
Geez, what were you expecting, that Morrigan would publish a biography??

People people. Our Warden will be back. At the very least David Gaider is thinking about writing him back in. And at the most he has already decided that he will, in fact, be bringing our Warden back again. I just tried to find the link (it's on these forums somewhere) but in the Live Video Q&A he did at Pax, between 3-4 mins in he does a cheeky - complete with knowing smile - allude, along the lines of, "Maybe the Warden will be back. Who knows. Maybe."
