I did a Kill Morrigan playthrough with the patched version. The only change I noticed was that the vortex lights no longer have motes leading to the next goal in the dwarf area. It made it harder to find the lights.

Still no way to find out what Morrigan leaves you at the end. VERY disappointing.

Folks, ensure you have the following unchecked!

Open a window and go to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTION > VIEW > "Uncheck Box Next to" - HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES.

If you do not do this, you "MAY" have trouble renaming the file to *.DAZIP. If your updater cannot find your downloaded file, proceed to check this out. You may not be changing it properly and therefore causing a problem.

Hope this Helps!

In addition to the manual install currently available, we'll be offering an alternate version with an installer program later this week - if you are still having any issues renaming the download, you will be able to use this alternate version instead.

This is being tested at the moment, and we did not want to further delay the PC update as most players are already aware/using the manual install method.

Question, Upon installing the new version, how will I be able to tell it is installed properly from "INSIDE" the game? If I go to "Installed Content", will there be some indicator on the Witch Hunt screen from within this area, which would probably be the best area to show a change, but unaware of the difficulty in doing so. So, if not here, than where will I see the version v1.1 indicator?  CURRENTLY, there is no indicator I can see that indicates the version of Witch Hunt, and there is no indicator from inside of Witch Hunt either.  So, how do I verify?

Please advise, Thanks!

The use of the "Tools" menu was critical, and something I didn't know until that bit of advice. It made all the difference.

I kept trying to "rename" a file that didn't show any extension. Needless to say, that didn't work.

That having been said, the patch worked like a charm. The ending WAS different, and though I'd found the "bugged" version to be satisfying, the unbugged version was even better.

That, then, poses a question. What happens if you replay the ending different ways? Are different autosaves created, or is the same one just overwritten? And if different autosaves are created, which one will DA2 use for the choices coming forward?

Or will we PC players get to choose which "save" game to incorporate, as we have for all the DLC and Awakenings?

I have the xbox 360, I bought Witch Hunt and did not experience any bugs. I did think it was way to short tho. I would like to see them to make it possible to have the choice of marrying Loghain instead of just Alistair. He whines to much. Lol.

Same here (not *that* much of a tech person).  Thanks.

Errr...I'm not sure if it worked. The content updater screen says "installed." I started the game, but the wiki says an early indicator that the game isn't bugged (if you did the Dark Ritual) is that there is a dialog option with Dog saying something to the effect of "Don't worry, we'll get the child back." I did the DR, but didn't see the option, so I can only assume it didn't work.

What's going on?

Dog can't talk. I have no idea what that may mean. All I know is that now Morri isn't denying that we did the DR when we did. There were some other subtle changes, too, from the "bugged" version. Some of those subtle changes were different expressions on Morri's face, too, which I thought was a pretty cool thing.

Umm, I meant the PC has the option to say that.  Can you help me with my problem?  I'm a little flustered right now.

Not sure this is the right place for tech support. Let me also say that people who are NOT computer literate should probably wait for the installer, later in the week. No sense in causing yourself and others grief.

Number one, I didn't say I'm not computer literate, just that I'm not much of a tech person.  I can muddle through, I just appreciate help.  Number two, I fail to see how I'm causing others grief by asking for help--after all, it is on topic.

I agree that, for this specific patch, tech-help is on topic.  A Bioware employee quoted the help in a post, and I take that as proof of approval.

No one else has reported a DR bug after the patch.  (The only thing I considered an unfixed bug, besides people who couldn't import certain gear, is the fact that you still can't find out what book Morrigan leaves you.)  Since the module isn't that long, I'd suggest playing farther and seeing how it goes.  If it is definitely still bugged, I would report it to Bioware.

I wasn't directing that at you (hence me not quoting you).  It was more of a general comment.  Regardless of what others are doing, I think tech support should be in the tech support forum.  Sorry.

That being said...my ON TOPIC comment is that at least it works now!  Too bad it doesn't make the DLC any better.  LOL!

You get a different Auto save for each run (up to 5 autosaves, iirc).  Unfortunately it is hard to determine which choice each corresponds to.

Riona, I didn't get the convo option to get the child back but Morrigan acknowledged that the DR was performed.

My only problem now is that in Witch Hunt my rogue cannot seem to sense traps. At all.

Oh great. :-/  I'm not playing a mage, but I'm sorry to hear that!

EDIT:  It worked!  The game acknowledged the ritual, no problem, and also that I was friends with Morrigan.  To be honest I found the exchange with her to be very touching.  This DLC was worth it.

Am I missing something? I loaded my last saved game and finished the game again and there is still no difference, other than a new save game is created.

Thanks Riona. I mean there weren't all that many traps but it's still annoying to walk up a path and *bam* tripwire! wth?!

vaalkyrie, is Morrigan still not acknowledging the DR if you performed it? That was mostly what this fixed I believe. That and the autosave at the end.

Vaalkyrie might not have done the DR.

Elessara is your rogue very high with the trap skills (the mechanical ones for traps and also high cunning)?

rfachini - yeah that's why I asked if Morrigan wasn't acknowledging the DR if they did it.

As to the traps - has 4th level of the disarm/pick locks skill, 4th level trap making and over 100 cunning (with gear). Can find every single trap in the game *except* the ones in Witch Hunt.

Wow, could be a bug. Before the patch my level 21 rogue found the traps without a problem. I think his cunning in only in the 20's.

My first WH playthrough was on a mage that romanced Morrigan but sacrificed himself during the battle. It was so long ago I can't remember if he did the DR or not. (Maybe not if he ended up dead...) Anyway the game let me go through the portal both before and after the patch. (My point is the dialogue and DR were only bugged for SOME people, so Elessara could very well have the same diaglogue before and after patch.)

It's the complete Witch Hunt DLC which is why the size is the same as the 1.0 version.
