I want to download this dlc, but unless it's working on xbox should I even bother? Did they fix it yet?

Man, this Witch Hunt DLC was terrible, just like everybody said. Why didn't I listen? I guess I was jonesing for some Dragon Age action before DA2 hits and wanted the DLC endgame save file so it will incorporate my warden's actions into the DA2 storyline (somehow). The fights were pathetically easy even on Nightmare (except for the new boss monster). I did get the coveted "Love" ending on my first try, at least (not that it was hard), but they could have had a better, longer, more emotional make-out scene after all the trouble I went through to track Morrigan down. LOL. Oh, well...

i dunno what the big deal is. some stories are best to be shrowded with mysteries. i enjoyed it and i dont think all will go unanswered, we will probably just have to wait even after dragon age 2 maybe.

I bought the Ultimate Edition so WH was "free." I played it once, no desire to play it again.

Can anybody tell me..... Is there a reason my Lev 25 Rogue can't detect traps in Witch Hunt?

OK I know this is a stupid question, so feel free to flame me if you want (as I couldn't find the answer right away using Search):

On the User Entitlements page, do I download Witchcraft (For Origins, I don't have Awakening), or do I download Witch Hunt (standalone PC)? I don't want to use the in-game downloader as I don't get to see stuff like time remaining, bytes transferred, etc.

Dragon Age + Expansion + DLC still has some bugs. Trap detection I hear has been a bug that they have been working on through Expansion + DLC sense the beginning. So, Witch Hunt may not actually have that working correctly.

Thanks, Night205. I'll leave what hair I have left in, then. Have to switch to ME2 for a while and see what develops.

Vliktor, I downloaded Witch Hunt from the loading screen (where you get the latest info, y'now). It installed automatically through the in-game screen (where the headings are: DOWNLOADING, INSTALLED, etc.).
However, and I could be wrong, it seems that this installs Witch Hunt, not Witch Hunt 1.1. The best way, I think, is to go to the loading screen, click on the WITCH HUNT 1.1 NOW AVAILABLE banner and follow the instructions from there. I don't know if 1.1 rectifies the problem of TRAP DETECTION that seems to exist in version 1, but I am downloading it as I type and hope it does! Don't know if this is of any help. If it isn't, don't bother to read it. Oh, you just read this part..... well, sorry then. Good luckImage IPB

Sorry Vlik, forgot to say: I think it is best to clik on MORE INFO and go from there. Stand alone seems to DL ver 1.

The "Stand-alone" installer is a self-extracting executable of the WH ver 1.1 DLC that (in addition to the DLC) will try to install game patch 1.04 on your system. Several of us have had an issue where it fails when it finds that patch 1.04. is ALREADY  installed.

There is an override switch ("/skippatch") if you know how to use the command line to launch the ".exe".

The "in-game" installer pulls down and handles WH itself (also ver 1.1, packaged as a ".dazip" like the other DLC.)

Does that tell you what you need to know?

So, maybe it's still a stupid question, but...

I tried installing Witch Hunt, ended up doing it manually. Finally got it to show up in the "Others Campaigns". And then when I import my character/create a new one and click the pretty "GO" button...

UNABLE TO LOAD AREA!

I tried basicly everything, including changing the authorization numbers, but it still wont load. Exiting to desktop 100 times didnt help either...

Anybody got a solution?

I really loved Witch Hunt. It was way better than the forums had led me to believe. Right from the beginning, revisiting Flemeth's hut with my dog brought back all kinds of memories, and I thought the writing and quest pacing were really well done. The companions were the most charming since the original game, and ending my Warden's story with a personal quest, trying to see Morrigan one more time rather than saving Fereldan, felt like a really fitting ending to the story. Big fan!

Witch Hunt puts most of it's reliance on the future Dragon Age games... if the future sucks, then the mystery around Witch Hunt sucks, therefore the DLC sucks, if it doesn't, then Witch Hunt will be more enjoyable for people. Even thought I thought it was pretty short, and none of the Dragon Age Origins use anything but recycled areas, I still enjoyed Witch Hunt, and will continue to treat it as the end of my characters story for now.

Got it. I just used the in-game downloader/installer, and everything's working.

I just finished DA2 last night. I STILL want to know what the books from Witch Hunt were, and to know what happens to Morrigan.

My guess is that Morrigan left an explanation there, leading to the 'disappearence' of our Warden. There are a lot of factors that contradict this, but i've got nothing else :P

I was rather disappointed with DA2 so I've actually gone back and reinstalled DAO plus picked up this DLC. So I'm curious enough to give it a try.

I guess we'll have to wait for DA3... (or DA:O2)
