The 1.04 update has already been released for mac!
I thought that was the case because an update installed just today when I open up DA:O but my version still states v1.03. How in the world am I to get v1.04 now?

How do I re-install? When I open DA:O it does not tell me there are any updates now. It ran an update just today but the version still shows 1.03. Does anyone have a link where I can download v1.04 for Mac? I've look all over but cannot find a Mac download for the patch - HELP, plz.

^ There are links there to download any purchased DLC, but as for the main game, I'm not really sure what to tell you if you didn't keep the original file. I know there are torrent sites you can get that from... you can probably download it again from the place you purchased it from.
It sounds like your problem is that you are no longer getting the option to update? I'm not sure if it would work, but you could try a software update, under the corner Apple icon.

Correct. The Witch Hunt DLC is installed and there is no problem there. I only have the issue with getting v1.04 now. As I stated earlier, my game installed an update earlier today but it is still showing the v1.03 and I cannot get the 1.04 anywhere.

If you logged in at gametreeonline you'll be able to re-download the original game file. Delete Everything from your mac and make a brand new installation.
Good luck
I need to delete my entire DA:O game file just to get it to update to v1.04? That is insane, I have 10 different PCs saved and tons of Mods installed. There must be a way for me to re-install the 1.04 patch for Mac. all of the Patches I have come across are for PC only in an .exe file.

I'm wondering if awakening has anything to do with this problem. Can anyone who has awakening installed with the latest patch check which version of the game you have 1.0.4 or 1.03. I'm thinking that it might be something like this:
Dragon Age Origin + Awakening + Most Recent Patch = v1.04
Dragon Age Origin + Most Recent Patch = v1.03
For some reason it won't patch the game up to v1.04 without Awakening? Thats my guess anyway.

I was starting to think that myself - I really don't want to buy Awakening and should not need to in order to have the v1.04 update. it is not that good of a game and don't want to waste $30.00 on a mediocre game. I sent an email to Bioware Tech support, let's see what type of assistance (if any) I'll receive.

ALSO.
Should you ever decide to get Awakening, you will probably need to re-install everything again as installing Awakening reverts the 1.04 patch to 1.03~ (At least it does for the PC, but I just assume we get the same problems as they do)

Did you all check your version number by right-clicking on Dragon Age Origins.app and selecting "Information"?

So Bratt1204 have you tried starting up Dragon Age again?
Edit:
3rd time was the charm for me as the 2nd time just like the first had the download fail and start the game up anyway. The 3rd time after it had download the patch it came up with a massage saying it needed to change the permissions of some of the files, and after saying yes and allowing it to do its thing I now have patched up to 1.04. So if you didn't get that massage then you might have had the same thing happen to you.

Hmmm... It appears as though the update never finished downloading and it just started the game up anyway the last time I played, as I just started the game up again and had the message there is a new patch do you wish to download.

Yes, this is exactly what happened to me about 2 days ago when it was supposed to update to v1.04 - I allow the 'change permission request' and it finished the install. I did not even realize it was NOT updated to v1.04 until I installed Witch Hunt and Modazapin gave me the error that v1.4 was need to run the DLC. I have tried starting up Dragon Age up again several times but I am not receiving any update messages any longer. I have contacted Bioware/EA tech support and they are UTTERLY useless. I really don't want to un-install and re-install my game if I can avoid it. I don't want to run the risk of loosing my saved game files. I am very unhappy right now

Lots of mods, eh? Well you can always just copy your My Documents>Bioware>Dragon Age>Characters/packages and put them somewhere safe. To my knowledge, the 1.04 patch doesn't affect anything in the packages folder, or its' sub-folders.

Is this were my saved games are located? I was unsure where the files were located an was reluctant to un-install/re-install my game for fear of loosing all of my save games files.
Edit: Are there any other files I will need to copy/save before un-installing/re-installimg? Will I loose all of my achievements if I do this? How can I preserve all my DLC?

Any mod you needed to use Modazipin to install should be uninstalled before you copy the "packages" folder. However, any mod you just needed to drop into the override folder should be fine.
Good luck!

Yup! Your saves are in their respective character folders, so as long as you put those away before you delete everything, your characters will be fine. You will have to re-download the DLC (once again, you can redownload purchased DLC here http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php ), but the bonus items you would get for completing a campaign (such as Blightblood from Darkspawn Chronicles) will still be connected to your save files. As for your achievements, as long as you were logged in, the achievements are connected to your Bratt1204 profile. (They may not show up right away though.)

You're awesome, thank you so very much. I have been emailing Bioware/EA Tech support for 2 days and they are the biggest and most useless waste of time. They don't even read my questions and give me ridiculous answers that are not even related to my issues. I cannot believe these people actually get paid to provide tech support
Thanks again

Yay! I would advise making a copy of your copied Character folder (so that you have two identical "Character" folders, one under Documents>Bioware>DragonAge and one in a safe spot) just in case the files get corrupted in the transfer, somehow. (It's unlikely though) I mean, the worst case scenario is that you would have to download the character mods again, which isn't that bad, all things considering.
Will do - thanks a bunch
