My list randomly switches between all but three pieces of DLC being unauthorized to just Witch Hunt being unauthorized, and then back again to almost everything being unauthorized. It's been like that since I've installed Witch Hunt an hour ago.
I have the same problem:crying:
Same.

If I then refresh a few times, it disappears from that menu and becomes authorized. When I try to start it, however, it lets me attempt to create/import a character. When I finish, it immediately takes me to the main menu saying "unable to load area."
Restarted game/steam a few times, know I have patch 1.04. Is this going to be fixed?

Please.. fix..
Or if you're not going to do that, give me my money back as not fixing it would be a violation of contract. xD

I installed Witch Hunt over 1.04 game, using Win 7 (64). I've installed all previous DRM without problem, but this time WH isn't showing up in my 'Other Campaigns' list. When I go to the 'Downloadable Content' tab initially WH shows up in the 'Available' column, and is unauthorised in the 'Installed' column. If I press the points refresh button WH disappears from 'Available' and shows as authorised, but still doesn't show up in the 'Other Campaigns' list. I've tried manually reinstalling 5 or 6 times now. Help!

For example, in Win XP, click Start then Run
type in: services.msc
Check if the "Dragon Age: Origins Updater" service is listed
Run the game and alt-tab out when at main menu
Check if the "Dragon Age: Origins Updater" service is now saying Started as its Status
If the service is listed, but not started when the game is running, try right clicking on it in the services window above, and changing the startup type to Automatic. (you may need to exit and restart DAO again to see if that worked)
If the service is not on the list at all, then you may need to manually install it. The quickest way (again Win XP) is to use windows search and find the "installutil.exe" on your machine - this should be in the windows - microsoft.net - framework - v2.(something) folder.
Copy that exe, and paste it into the bin_ship folder where your DAO game is installed. For example, program files - dragon age - bin_ship.
Next, find the DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe and drag this on top of the installutil.exe - a new window will appear and attempt to install the service.
Once it is done, if successful, you should now be able to see the service in the services window I mentioned above.
More detailed steps, including instructions around other similar cases are outlined in the following thread:
http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613
If the service is running successfully and you still have issues, please let us know.

If you're still experiencing authorization issues, I would ask if you could confirm if the Dragon Age Updater service is running/installed correctly?

I tried that and it still didn't work. "When I go to the 'Downloadable Content' tab initially WH shows up in the
'Available' column, and is unauthorised in the 'Installed' column. If I
press the points refresh button WH disappears from 'Available' and
shows as authorised, but still doesn't show up in the 'Other Campaigns'

@carokube & Cody 211282 - can you confirm you are logged in the game. And in both your cases, did you manually download/install from social, or via the in-game system?
Yes I am logged into the game, and I downloaded via the in-game system. as a backup I currently have both of them downloading manualy as well incase I need to reinstall it that way.

"The Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
I have Dragon Age running so it should be trying to use the service so this confuses me...

I was logged in. I download via in game. I just tried something and now it works--I read that the profile.dap file in my documents\\\\bioware\\\\dragon age\\\\settings can become unwritable so I renamed it to force the game to create a new one. Now ALL of my content is authorized and I'm currently able to play witch hunt! Just loaded my character and watched the opening movie.
Holy crap that worked like a charm, thank you oh so very much for sharing!

Did you move between a retail install and a digital install (e.g. steam) at some point? Or re-installed the game but in a different location? It sounds like the service was not cleaned up on previous uninstall and is still trying to run from there.
Check for solutions to this here: http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613

Excellent, this actually worked for me, thanks Fernando:)
