I'm having the same issue that Hydracen is, Witch hunt is not being authorized. Is there a patch coming to resolve this issue wither its from the installer that causing it or the game dlc it self? I would like to know because if not..then i want to know who do i reach out to to get my money back.

Also we should not have to do any crazy things to get something that was suppose to work to work properly. Bioware needs to fix this issue or to tell us they are in the process of doing so. I have not seen anywhere ...where they say yes we know there is an issue. If the issue is large and wide spread then they should pull off Witch hunt from the dlc since all your doing is frustrating your base.

Just to give an update, I had 1.04 prior to Witchcraft and it's now coming up Unauthorized, even after the fix mentioned in prior posts so this issue isn't resolved for everyone.

Unable to get into the game at all, keep getting the activate your game message and then get an error: unable to contact ea to activate message. Been happening for the past three days. I've had the game installed on pc since it came out and hadn't opened it in a couple months till witch hunt came out. Anyway tried reinstalling everything and 1.04 patch. Tried resetting my pw. I even tried installing on a different pc to see if it was just something blocking on this one. Still the same. If I type my pw wrong I get an invalid pw message so I seem to be contacting some server. So yeah seems to be a problem.

I'll line out my problem in phases.

1) Everything fine.

2) Leliana's Song released. Trying to start it always results in error message "Unable to load module." and unauthorization of LS and often most other DLC as well, which is easily fixed with logging out and in again.

3) TGoA is released and either it or patch 1.04 result in TGoA, LS, RtO & DSC never getting authorized for even a moment.

4) This patch leaves me with a situation somewhere between 2) and 3). Usually starts with TGoA, LS, RtO & DSC unauthorized. A couple of reloads fix that. Trying to start LS results in the "Unable to load module." error message again and after TGoA's character selection I'm confronted with "Unable to load area.", so essentially the same bug. Both make the above four DLC (and only those) unauthorized again, which again is fixed through reloading. Rinse, repeat. Witch Hunt works, though, but I don't wanto to play it before the other stuff.

Windows Vista x32, originally installed everything in-game, then via the daoupdater on top of it.
I tried re-installing during phase 3) to no effect and refuse to go through that whole ordeal in vain again.

I was logged in. I download via in game. I just tried something and now it works--I read that the profile.dap file in my documents\\\\bioware\\\\dragon age\\\\settings can become unwritable so I renamed it to force the game to create a new one. Now ALL of my content is authorized and I'm currently able to play witch hunt! Just loaded my character and watched the opening movie.

Woohoo! Leliana's Song took forever to load, but it finally worked! Thanks so much!

Was this supposed to fix that 'unauthorized' thing of your DLC? Still got it. 1.04. Still playing the game in admin mode.

Bought the game of steam. All of my DLC is registered as umauthorized, yet on this site all my content is registered here. Admittedly I think I have more then 1 account. Couldn't remember the account user name either of the times when I was asked to register the game. Although all of my accounts are now registered with EA under the same e-mail (and same personalia). Would appreciate a solution. Also next time you decide to use multiple vendours, allow me the chance to search for my account by e-mail rather then account name? I have too many user names and account passwords to remember already. Remember, your customers are only human!

Try to start Dragon Age Content Updater service prior to launching the game. For this, open Windows main menu, select Run..., type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. In the Services window, look for Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater. Right-click on this service and select Start in the contextual menu. Once the service has started, close Services window and launch the game.

Check also that you are logged in-game using the very same account you used to purchase your DLC or redeem your promo codes.

You can also check this thread if none of the above solve your issue.

There is a way to bypass all this *umauthorized bizo*. *PC ONLY*

You go into your C:\\Users\\Admi\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings and look for a file called "Addins.xml". *NOTE THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO PLAY THE GAME, once opened with notepad, hit shortcut keys CTRL+F which will bring up a find box.

Next look for "RequiresAuthorization="1"", go through every requiresauthorization set it to 0 then save and close. This should fix any unauthorized content, HOWEVER it will not fix any problems loading with modules.

This is only a way for people to get past contecting to biowares server and waiting forever to just play the dam game, hopefully they release a patch and you wont need to do this!

However, whenever this is fixed i surgest you go back and change all the 0's to a 1 when they finally fix enjoy playing Dragon Age hassle free.

Shouldn't go through all this BS to get them working.

considering the process doesn't work for all to begin with, right now I find myself having no choice but to either play with DLC's and awakening completely disabled and removed... or playing with awakening and no dlc because the issue seems to be something to do with awakening refusing to accept the dlc's as being purchased.

I have been experiencing the problem of being unauthorised since I patched the game to 1.04. Having said that, I have to say I am quite disappointed as I have purchased each and every DLC and I even did what one of the moderators, Eurypterid suggested in another topic. At this morning it worked fine but now that I am back from work the game seems to be giving me the same message if I'd like to check my downloaded contents.

I am doing my umpteenth walkthrough in Mass Effect 2 so it is not very likely that I am going to start playing Dragon Age in the near future, yet, I hope when the time comes the game will be ready - the very game that I have already purchased with all the DLCs.

I have to admit that it gives me quite a disappointment as what Bioware / EA have recently achieved with these games is just superb. I do not think there has been any game with which I played at least 150 hours. These games are amazing and what you did to the gaming community is something all the competitors should be aware of, so I am only asking you to do the same when it comes to customer service, as well.

Can we PLEASE get an update on this? I still can't play my DLC, for which I've paid for 8 days ago and I'm getting kinda upset. I've got no problem with DLC not working, as long as it's for free, but this I've paid for and I didn't play a single second of Witch Hunt.

I have a problem with this speicaly in Lilly's Song DLC the Origins Armor in it will make the whole DLC unauthroized the only way to work around this is by me clicking it off and then clicking the update button to refresh the Bio Points then it works but if I have it clicked on ... it won't let me use the DLC ...

I finally installed the dlc(witch hunt) by manually downloading the dazip file as the ingame download kept failing. After installing with daupdater.exe, I'm seeing that dao is still trying to download witch hunt (and failing, again), when it also shows up in installed content - marked as unauthorized. I tried clearing download cache, but didn't help. During one of my tries, it got authorized and it showed up in my 'other campaigns'. Started it, but only got 'Unable to load area'. The dlc had gone back to being unauthorized and in-game downloader was still trying to download it (at 40%). Where do I go from here?

This suggestion fixed it for me, at least for now. Everything comes up authorized now.

Worked on my wife's Vista system and my brother's XP system, as well as my Win 7 system. If you're having issues try this fix.

Yep deleting the profile.dap file fixed the issues for me too. I even managed to get back all the DLC gear from Ostagar and Warden's Keep that I lost becuase of the authorization bug.
