I purchased several of the DLC's today but Leliana's Song is listing as unauthorized. Everything was purchased and installed post 1.04

edit: Fixed :P, for some reason I wasn't logged in, once I did so it cleared up

I have just installed the Awakening and it seems to be the only content available (i.e. authorised). Pity. Nevertheless, I will try the profile.dap solution and see if it works.

Same problem here: Witch Hunt unauthorized on Win 7 64bits, Awakening and 1.04 patch installed before downloading DLC.I tried to launch in admin mode, to delete the profile.dap file, nothing worked. I just bought the DLC, but i see that the problem is the same as 12 days ago... Nice to see that Bioware is not in a hurry to get a content THAT WE BOUGHT to work... I'm sure that, as usual, those who have illegaly downloaded the game can play it nicely since the release (maybe even before...)

Hello all,

Due to issues that some players are experiencing authenticating DLC on the PC, we will be rolling out a patch on Wednesday September 8, 2010 to address these issues...

A link to that patch may be usefull!

I have not played Dragon age since early last spring. I got sick of this cheesy DLC junk. I decided to boot the game back up this past weekend and try a play through. I put on the 1.04 patch before hand. Everything was swell until today when I went to resume the game. It is telling me all my add-ons are unauthorized. This kind of thing continues to erode my confidence in BioWare :/

edit:
Got back into my savegame by manually login in here to post. I had tried reloging from the game launch window prior to posting here and it did not work. So it seems I depend on BioWare/EA authorization every time I want to play using the DLC I bought and paid for.    Wonderful . . . . . .  Image IPB

This is driving me nuts. I feel that you should be paying me for beta testing. I've wasted my whole morning. Tried manually starting updater which says it works. Tried the beta diagnostic which says all is fine. Tried re-dowloading. Both Leliana's and Witchhunt come up unauthorized every time. I can get Witchhunt to load by hitting refresh multiple times and then logging out and logging back in. I will never play if I have to go through that everytime though. Leliana's always comes up unable to load module and goes back to unauthorized when I try to play it. I will not be buying Dragon Age 2--for sure!!! I play to relax not for more stress!

Update please. Some people still can't play WitchHunt. And have actually paid for it. Come on, Bioware, I've bought your games for more then 10 years, don't let me down :(

Thank you Coreano for the solution - it seems to be working as I set the updater to automatic instead of manual.

I had this problem, but I realized the Dragon Age Update service was disabled and enabling it authorized all my DLCs.

I'm also having this problem. All my DLC was working fine, then I got Witch Hunt 1.1 and the newest patch 1.04 and now none of my DLC will work. The available content tab says I still need to buy them all until I refresh it, and they appear in my list of ones I've already gotten. But when I try to play, it says I'm not authorized to use anything, even the ones that came with my CE version of the game. Any kind of response from Bioware would be great. Thanks

Still having problems using the steam version of the game. I've made sure the game is up to date, and yet the new DLC I had just purchased (Witch Hunt, Liliana's Song, Golems of whatever) are showing up as unauthorized no matter what I do: Log in, log out, refresh EA points, anything.

I sent mails to Bioware support both in english and in my language, i never got any answer, neither even a confirmation that my issue will be adressed. So i looked here and there on the net, and found an "alternative" script to unlock DLC, Works fine

There are four modules that I just purchased that #1 I can't use because they say I'm unauthorized and, even worse, #2 I can't load ANY SAVED GAMES because they were saved "under the authorization" of those four modules (Stone Prison., Warden's Keep, Return to Ost., and The Golems of ANg.)  I did use a redeem. code for the Stone Prisoner.  Everything else I bought with  two purchses of 1600 Bioware points.

Needless to say, I'm slightly infuriated that spending more money on this game locked me out of about half the content I bought and all my most recent saved games!

Here's my "Point Stament":
29 Sep 2010 19:00 GMT Witch Hunt - 560 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 19:00 GMT Leliana's Song Bundle - 560 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 18:57 GMT
Added

1600

+ 1600 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 18:53 GMT Warden's Keep - 560 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 19:00 GMT Darkspawn Chronicles - 400 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 18:55 GMT Feastday Combo Pack - 240 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 18:53 GMT Return to Ostagar - 400 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 18:47 GMT
Added

1600

+ 1600 BioWare points 29 Sep 2010 18:53 GMT Golems Of Amgarrak - 400 BioWare points
So whay aren't those four modules I mention above being recognized? I am logged on in game, and I have restarted my game and logged in and out, to no avail. I also set the "Dron Age Content" service to "automatic" using the Run->services.mcs command, since that had been suggested on another thread.  Any ideas?

UPDATE: The fix (It's the last one in Kepha's OP) quoted below from this thread (http://social.biowar...58/index/759141) is what fixed my issues.

"None of that works, my content is still unauthorized

This
can often be caused by a problem writing to the My
Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\profile.dap file.  Make sure
that the file is writable.  You can also try renaming the file to
something else, and forcing the game to regenerate it, which it will do
the next time you log in.  Achievements are also stored in this file, so
you want to make sure you don't delete the old version until you're
sure everything is working.  If your achievements have been uploaded to
the social site they will be redownloaded to your computer when you log
in."

I was logged in. I download via in game. I just tried something and now it works--I read that the profile.dap file in my documents\\\\bioware\\\\dragon age\\\\settings can become unwritable so I renamed it to force the game to create a new one. Now ALL of my content is authorized and I'm currently able to play witch hunt! Just loaded my character and watched the opening movie.

For 2 days I've been trying to fix this. Finally got it to work. Thank you Carokube~!!!!

Just purchased Witch Hunt today and naturally had no idea of this problem beforehand and so obviously I'm not authorized.  Never bothered to log in during DAO but now when I try to log in with the game menu screen I get:

The EA servers are no longer available.  What's up with that?

i wanted to say that this worked for me as well.  the only hiccup was that i could not find: C:\\\\\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\\\\\All Users\\\\\\\\Application
Data\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

this was because windows hides the documents and settings folder.  so you may have to go into your c drive, then click the' Organize' button on the top left side of the window, then click 'folder and search' option, then click 'view'.  after which, select 'show hidden files and folders' as well as unclick 'hide protected operating files'.  you will then be able to navigate the above mentioned path.  just make sure that afterwards you go back and click 'hide protected operation files' so they are not accidentally deleted in the future.

after i did all of this i logged into dragon age and had to download all of the previously installed content (including dlc).  everything downloaded and installed perfectly.  now i can play witch hunt, the golems of amarakk and leliana's song.

i did have to go back and reinstall all mods that i had originally installed with daupdater.  but that didn't take long as i was given a list of the missing mods the first time i tried to load a game.  i just jotted down the list and reinstalled them using daupdater.

hope this helps.  thank you gothlad for posting this.  :)

This is crap!

I have bought Bioware games since they started out, but if it's going to be this much hastle, i'm done! Taking customers money but not delivering a product that does what it's supposed to is bad business!

How hard can it be to publish content that doesn't reqire authorization every time its started?

Reinstalling, redownloading tweaking and patching... and the results from each is quite unpredictable. Get us ONE fool-prof way to sort this mess out, that does not require reinstalling and deleting of folders and files.

Tried to run as admin and the .dap rename, but to no awail.

Installed witch hunt and thus patch 1.1.

More and more of my purchased content are now turning up as unauthorized.

Come ON BIOWARE!!
