For the record, I don't really wear high heels all that often and I can easily run in 2-3 inch heels. And Miranda's heels didn't look much higher than 3 inches, plus they were chunky heels so it's pretty easy to keep your balance in 'em. Furthermore, since lots of chicks are used to wearing heels anyway, your foot gets adjusted to the incline and it becomes uncomfortable to wear flats.

But yeah, for DA I can see where ya'll are coming from, but wearing a 1-2 inch heel really isn't going to make any difference as far as how well she'll be able to balance or whatever. Stilettos are another story, but I don't remember seeing anyone in either game wearing "armor" like that.

As far as the cleavagey thing goes, someone pointed out that the armor should be able to look like it can take "arrows, an axe/sword blade, and some fireballs". No real life armor could do all that (especially since magic doesn't exist), because the best armor does is slow down a threat from a fatal one to a critical one. So you kinda have to suspend your belief in the first place to believe that this armor CAN protect the wearer from all this stuff without EVER needing to be repaired after taking all this abuse, then logically you'd have to think that there's some sort of enchantments or whatever on their armor to provide additional bonuses (a la ME shielding). So really, if you're already suspending your belief enough to allow for magic, undamageable armor, leather that can take multiple heavy blows from an axe/sword/arrow/fire, is it really that much further to allow for a hint of cleavage?

Personally, I don't really care what the hell they wear as long as it's modeled well and interesting looking. They can be as practical as they wanna be, but if it's boring looking I'm not going to want to watch it in action for 6 hour sittings =\\

As long as we get some Cleav it'll be fine.

The chainmail bikini thing is too much though, at the most maybe an exposed mid-section area (like the fem dalish armor) but nothing too overboard.

I want my femHawke to be able to wink at her enemies momentarily stunning them with her beauty, then swiftly turns they're heads into a soft pudding like substance >:o

Female sexuality does not detract from immersion and realism in video games.

Your opinion on female sexuality, may or may not cause you to question a female characters validity in a video game, breaking immersion/realism.

It isn't the sexuality, it's practicality.  Take the leather armor on females in Origins,  there was a huge gap that wasn't protected, leaving the wearer exposed.  Who want's to look sexy at the cost of their life?

Female armors in Origins look no different than the armors you'd see Romans wearing. You cover the vital areas without restricting movement. So chest, lower arm area, lower leg area.

I'm a woman, and I can't run in heels, it looks... hard.

But for me, I just don't want my stomach showing when I'm a rogue, more-or-less. I can understand the need to make them look girlie and sexy, but.. please don't leave my vital organs out there for an arrow to stick into.

Robes? Sure. Show some leg! I got magical barriers and... stuff.

My problem with having women wear stripperific clothes is not so much that it's impractical, it's that it happens all the time. It seems like almost every game with female characters has them wearing enough material to properly clothe a person 1/8 their size. I'm OK with skimpy clothing if it fits the character (like I think it did with Jack and, to some extent, with Miranda) but a stern, serious warrior should be wearing more than a g-string.

Rogues in Origins arent supposed to be frontline warriors, they fire from the distance or perform backstabs. That type of armour is supposed to be light and offer freedom.

Leather armour was not protecting it's wearer from axes and heavy strikes-it saved from relative low-power cuts, which could induce deadly gangrene(remember medicine level in those days).
Cleavage would RUIN the intention of wearing armour. So i'd wanted to see more 'enclosed' armour.

Please explain me how does a woman cover vital organs when she leaves the center of the upper chest (read: the cleavage area) and the whole lower chest (belly). That's the heart and an awful lot of the digestive tract (not to mention kidneys, etc...) completely exposed.

Female Dalish armor were basically leather bras and miniskirts.

Great for showing off assets, useless in an actual fight.

At least my casteless dwarf rogue was sensible enough to wear unflattering but very fuctional medium armor instead of the bikini Leliana was flaunting around camp. Good thing she never left it.

In general i just want the armors to be more distinct from eachother, i kept running into retextures of the same model over and over.

As for the female armor on rogues, it makes sense in a way, cause your trying to be flexible. Eitherway, they have heard our complains and will hopefully fix it.

I just want to take a minute to address the issue that people keep saying about how sex appeal or high heels don't add to the game.

I disagree. To me, the fact that Miranda wore high heels told me a bit about her character. It was funny to my Shep, that even though she talks about hating her genetics and her manufactured good looks, she still wore a skin tight jumpsuit (white, to show everything no less) and high heels meant that even though she had issues with her creation, she still used her looks to give her an edge. And if that edge meant sexulization so that people wouldn't take her that seriously, then so be it.

Same with Jack. The belt bra did nothing, except to give her the look of someone who really didn't give a crap about social norms and conventions.

Now back to Dragon age. I don't mind having some skimpier options as long as there's a good mix of both. When I was playing my Cousland Rogue I had her running around in the Dalish armour for a good chunk of her game, because it suited her character. She used her looks to get her way, and I felt that having a revealing light armour option reflected that nicely.

In short, I'd be happy with a more variety with the light/med armours, some that were a little sexy, and some that offered full coverage. Variety is the spice of life.

If you want it this way, then 'sexier' outfits have to offer significantly worse bonuses to protection, and (okay, cleavage distraction!) some conversation bonuses.

I don't mind the cleavage on the woman as much as I am still weirded out that the qunari warrior in the trailer doesn't wear armour at all.

I think the armour in DA:O was fine in the covering department.

The bare upper chest in the female rogue armor makes me put them in medium armor every single time, and hand the loss of stamina. It's like a big sign saying 'kill me now' that I find totally immersion breaking. Armor isn't about displaying assets, it's about not getting killed.

Hmm that is very sound advice and everybody should follow it .
Although i just thought about it.... We already have Hawke's epic armor we couldn't possibly have another epic lookin armor in the trailer.
Also the Qunari was related to Jacob Taylor and was just showing of his abs
Its a heavy risk but the priiiize :devil::devil:

Yes, the in-game universe would probably have ended. Or our brain melted...
Anyway, I really, really like the new armour designs we saw so far, yes, all three or so of them

This armour set sucks. Big time. It's unconvinient, unprotective and looks like it was created by Orks. And Ork-made armour only can protect Orks exclusively.

But it looks so very awesome, that the awesomeness must make up for everything else! It's like frightening appearence.
It also fits the look of the character and even Marian Hawke very well, in my opinion, seeing as they are on thee run and can't have perfect armour at all times.
The new templar look also looks great, from what I saw in the tiny blurry screens in the Ustream.

Ideally they'll have a mix so you can choose an armour you like. Ideally they'll have some leather armour you wouldn't be ashamed to be seen in.

Heresy I say! Heresy! It doesn't have any pink. How will the Templars strike dread into the hearts of demon and mage alike?
Now I must depart. *Vanishes in a cloud of pink smoke*
