I have purchased Witch Hunt through the web store, but nothing came up on the download section In-Game. I'm trying to have it installed manually through the DOA Updater, but it tells me to convert the files into "Dazip" which I have no idea how to accomplish.

Please help!

If you download the file from http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php, you will directly get a dazip.

I suspect that the zip file you downloaded contains the dazip you are looking for. Unzip the zip file by right-clicking on the file and selecting extract. By default, it will create the unzipped file folder in whatever directory the zip folder is in. Once it is done extracting, open the extracted file and look for a file with the extension "dazip"

Got the file, it is actually a *.dazip. Just add the "DA" manually to the extension. (Right-click ===> Rename DAO_PRC_STR_1.0.zip to DAO_PRC_STR_1.0.Dazip)

I've tried all these suggestions, and still it won't work. Even if I rename it "dazip" it's still registered as "zip". Do I need to rename it through another path? I'm not sure what you're reffering to, sami jo, I upload them into my computer and as stated, it won't be accepted by the Updater.

just add DA in front of Zip so ithe extension looks like .dazip. It should work then.

Really? You've renamed it to "DAO_PRC_STR_1.0.dazip"?

Then, just run the daupdater.exe. The file type in the Windows Explorer should read "Dragon Age: Origins DLC". Do not unzip the file, just rename it.

Then there's a possibility, the file's corrupted. If that's the case, re-download it.

The zip file cannot be read by the game--dazip is not another variety of zip file. Zip files are compressed files to make downloads smaller. You must extract the zip file to get a non-compressed file. After extracting the file (right-click and select "Extract All" then click "Extract" in the bottom right corner), you will get a folder that is NOT a zip file. Open that folder. Inside should be a file with the extension .dazip. That is the file that you then install using DAUpdater or one of the modmanagers. Renaming the extension on the zip file will do nothing but make it unreadable by any program.

Edit for more explanation: Compressing a file is a little like folding a shirt so that it will fit in your drawer.  The folded shirt takes up less space.  Similarly, a compressed file has been "folded" to make it smaller so that your download will take less time.  Sections of the file with repeated values (like textures that are reused over and over) are marked with the computer equivalent of a ditto sign--the value is recorded once and every other instance of it in the file is simply pointed to the first one.  The problem is that programs such as the DAUpdater don't know what to do with those "ditto" signs.  They need the full value to be in the file every time it comes up.  A folded shirt may be more compact, but you can't wear it while it is folded.  You have to unfold it, or in the computer's case, reverse the compression.  Zip is the Windows native compression format.  Any file with ".zip" as the extension will need to be extracted to be used in any way. Many modders use other compression formats such as rar and 7z..  They are just different ways of "folding" the file to make it smaller.  Again, any file with those extensions must be extracted in order to be used.

If for some reason the "Extract All" option does not appear when you right-click on the zip file, you can download a utility such as 7-zip file manager found here that will extract any of the formats I listed.

From the help section (Your profile ===> Registered Game promotions):

To access your content on the PC, please ensure you log in with the same account you used while redeeming this code on the social website. Once you have done this, your content will automatically start downloading the next time you log in with this account in-game.

If the content does not start downloading automatically in the game, please follow these steps:

Right click on the link below and select "Save Target As", or the equivalent in your browser. Save the .dazip file to your computer. If your browser tries to rename it to a .zip file, rename it back to .dazip after download.
Find the daupdater.exe application. It is usually located under \\\\bin_ship in your Dragon Age folder (for example C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Dragon Age\\\\bin_ship\\\\daupdater.exe). Double click on it to open it.
Click on "Select DAZIPs". Navigate to where you have saved the .dazip file and open it.
Now the .dazip file will appear on the Install tab. Select it on the list and click "Install Selected."

Sami is talking BS in this case. Otherwise useful info. Winrar is a good app for those *.7z, *.zip and *.rar etc files.

I agree with UpiH. It's not a conversions process, nor is it an extraction process. The file you downloaded should already be a .dazip file. If it's not, according to the instructions, you just rename the extension from .zip to .dazip. You shouldn't have to extract anything, open up anything, just rename the extension. Then remembering where it is, you run daupdater.exe and then browse to that .dazip file, then extract/install from there.

Hopefully you don't have "Hide file extensions..." turned on. Depending on your version of Windows, you're can enable/show file extensions, but it takes some doing.

The problem here is that your browser converts the .dazip file to a .zip file automatically, then  if you rightclick the name of the file AFTER downloaded  and select RENAME, it won't allow you to change the .zip part. At least that is my case. So you have to do that BEFORE downloading the file. Go to  http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php, Click More info PC. RIGHT CLick the DOWNLOAD link below. Select Save Target as... In the screen that appears, choose where you want youir file saved and then go down and click the right arrow where it says Save as type...  and select All files. Now click the arrow above this one where the name of the file appears, and it pops out a screen where you can select the DAO_PRC_STR_1.0.zip file and change the .zip extension to .dazip. Click the SAVE button.
That worked for me. Hope this helps. I know it's frustrating. Shame on Bioware

I don't think, it's Bioware, which is to blame. Changing file extensions may be a bit tricksy unless you log in as the adminstrator (Win7, Vista) meaning, you ought to have the rights to do so.

Anyways, one thing to do is to change the way Windows displays the extensions. To do that, open Windows Explorer (Windows flag, start button + E is a neat shortcut).

Select "Tools" menu, then "View" tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Click on "Apply to all folders", OK, and you're done. Choose "Detals" from the "Wiew" menu, so you'll see better, what's going on.

Then just go to the desired DLC downloaded from aforementioned page, right-click and choose "Rename"

Answer "Yes" to the question "If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable. (In this case it will not). Are you sure, you want to change it?"

I agree UpiH. But I was not blaming Bioware for not being able to change extensions, but because all the fuzz and problems to download stuff. When I am in DA, my connection doesnt last more than 5-8 minutes. Downloading Golems of Agmarrak took about two days. And BTW, the info you provided is most useful. Thank you.

At least for me, it was much easier and faster to get the Golems, Leliana and The Witch Hunt + the goodies directly from the User Entitlements page. Was a real PITA to try end fetch 'em thru' the game.

I'd just hope, they supported resuming, too.

When you download the zip from Dragon Age Wiki & click on save,
in the window that asks where to save, the file name will be in blue. Just click your mouse in front of the .zip & type da to make it .dazip.
Then just drag & drop it into the updater.
