Bioware may not have fixed it, but there is one very GOOD fix, i'm actually using it right now, it let's you import your Starfang and Grey Warden Commander Armor into Awakening and Vigilance doesn't suffer from it at all. you can keep your WK DLC on and it works perfectly!bobobo878 wrote...
It still amazes me that they haven't fixed the Soldier's keep texture bug.

Decision-wise I romanced her, did the DR and everything, and yet she...well...says I denied her.
Bugs like dex bug and stuff I can put up with, but not when it impacts my decisions in the game. Disappointed and can only hope. But it does mean that importing decisions to DA2 now seems a whole lot dodgier as a result.

some modder will find a way to fix it...
it seems that is bioware's modus operandi.

a) Imported saved file from Origins>Awakening>GoA (GoA to be precise)
c) References to my past actions were correct, along with the small mention of Anders from Awakening by Finn.
d) Morrigan recognized me as the father of the child and also recognized our romance.
Total: Everything was PERFECT with GoA and Awakening imported character. I guess this bug doesn't happen to everyone...well,anyway there you have it!

Well, i must say DLC's, Expansions & patches have broken everything but the storyline so far. So the last DLC must've been reserved for the story breaker. Sure the Original DA:O's difficulty was hard to swallow, but it was reletively bug free for me till all this new patches & dlcs came.

Here is the current status of the patch:
"The beta patch has successfully passed today. We've now created the real PC patch with a proper installer etc (currently dubbed 1.04a) and this is in final tests over the weekend - we hope to release it on Monday (exact time still tbd).
The X360 title update, and the PS3 patch were also completed today and will be in test over the weekend - we hope to send these to MS & Sony early next week. Once we hear from the platform holders on a timeframe to release we'll communicate that out to you."

Honestly though, most game bugs I wasn't bothered with when they affect gameplay. Most I never knew about until I read the things people were complaining about on the forum. But then I don't play on a hard setting so it's less noticeable for me.
But when characters don't recognise your actions like in Witch Hunt...very disappointing. At least I saved just before starting that conversation with Morrigan. So if the bug is fixed properly, I won't have to play through it again. I'll leave that for my other dozen of characters.

If the witch hunt bug if fixed, I'll consider pre-ordering DA2. Part of me forgives them for this, because they just released GoA, LoTSB, and on top of that they were working on DA2. But then I realize this should have been seen during initial testing, so I lose sympathy.
I've forgiven pretty much every bug in the games so far - Sentinal armor bugged, oh well, just cosmetic. Vigilance looks like Starfang? Meh, no big deal. Warden showed up naked in Awakening, ooops, I had other armor, so it's ok. Alistair showed up as King when I made Anora Queen and married her? Annoying - very annoying - but I let it go.
This bug is beyond excuse. From what I've seen, the game pretty much is just randomly deciding whether you romanced Morrigan, left her in love, or as friends, or did the DR. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to it at all.
This bug is pure and simple BS. There's no way that they should have missed this if they actually tested the damn game. No way they COULD have missed it, given that it seems to be happening to so many people, over various platforms.
This is inexcuseable.

I hate this bug, I hope they fix it soon and fine. Take your time, folks, with DLCs and with DA2 too! We don't need the games right away, we want them well-done and properly tested.

Here is my report on the matter:
a) Imported saved file from Origins>Awakening>GoA (GoA to be precise)Had the ring equipped and it was recognized by Arianne
c) References to my past actions were correct, along with the small mention of Anders from Awakening by Finn.
d) Morrigan recognized me as the father of the child and also recognized our romance.
Total: Everything was PERFECT with GoA and Awakening imported character. I guess this bug doesn't happen to everyone...well,anyway there you have it!
I did basically the same thing. My Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer (+Battle Mage in Awakening +Keeper in Witch Hunt), Ares, had no troubles at all. I imported a post-coronation save from Origins into Awakening. Then I beat Awakening and imported in Golems (and steamrolled the Harvester, on Nightmare. How can you think he is hard?). Then I imported into Witch Hunt from Golems.
My character romanced Morrigan in Origns, and did the Dark Ritual. I got the "Still in Love" flag for talking to her after the ritual.
You do not need Morrigan's Ring equipped for Arianne to recognize it by the way. She recognized it even with it unequipped.
Huzzah to people like chassis and I, who had no bugs!

-What a shocker another bugged download for Dragon Age. Glad I haven’t picked this up yet, might not either the way it sounds on the bug problems. I have enough problems trying to get an answer on the kill 1000 darkspawn achievement, something that probably was screwed up from getting one of these downloads.DOYOURLABS wrote...
This was in the PC tech support, but since I got this bug too, I thought I should put one in the xbox 360 tech support forum. I romanced Morrigan and preformed the Dark Ritual, but it claims I only romanced her. She says that I denied her at redcliffe, when I didn't. Here's my info, if it helps at all:
1) romanced morrigan
2) preformed dark ritual
3) did not talk to her after
4) at the ceremony after the battle of denerim, I said I would be going after morrigan
5) got the romance epilogue (the non-ring one)
6) Imported character into GoA
7) Imported character into Awakenings
8) Got the proper morrigan epilogue (I forget what it was, not the ring one)
9) imported awakenings character into witch hunt with the ring still equipt
10) It was recognized I still had the ring
11) Morrigan claimed I denied her at redcliffe.
-A better idea would be not to waste money on Dragon Age 2. Considering how badly Dragon Age Origins and Awakenings have been with bugs and the to little to late patches to fix the problems topped off with how almost every download we’ve gotten seems to have bugs in them also. I say nuts to buying the next game.DOYOURLABS wrote...
Please fix this devs, and maybe even compensate us on the wasted money.
-Isn’t this obvious, BioWare cant be bothered to have anyone play testing these games anymore. At least no one who isn’t directly involved in the creating of the game. It been my guess that even if something is found the problem gets ignored unless it’s a huge issue they find.DOYOURLABS wrote...
Seriously how did you not see this during QA testing?

Use your auto save from origins, that worked for me.
I too decided to use the common fix for everyone. Naturally, I went through three runs with save files one from Amgarrak, Awakening, and Origins with the full romance situation....
All 3 bugged to oblivion! Everyone of them has me as the jerk who refused her ritual despite the relationship.... I'm anxiously waiting for the patches, but has anyone even considered having to go through it again due to a possibility of corrupt data from the past WH attempts?
Sorry.... I'm really pessimistic after watching a third failed attempt. [Ironically, it was easier using my Origins Save over Awakening or Amgarrak, but then again that's probably because of the leveling system with enemies.]
