I guess the problem I am having is related to the fact that I purchased the localised, Hungarian version of the game. The installer says there is a problem with the language compatibility.
I understand no translations were made, however, I have been playing the game in English as I modified the ini file in one of the game's folders. Only the subtitles were affected by the localisation.
Considering above, it's quite frustrating that I am unable to install it simply because this was a localised version, which, if I am not mistaken, is the only version that got shipped to Hungary. I have been waiting for this for quite some time while doing my 3rd walkthrough checking every little detail again and again because I love the game so much, and this happens.
Frankly, I think I deserve to be disappointed.
Regards.

No error messages, no fail messages, no non compatible messages, just won't install. It does however, freezes my download folder for about an hour and then I just gave up and hit end now.
Thats what I've got happening. At first i had the not compatible with your windows error, now I have the taking an age to install. But while I was typing this the installer just popped up. So I guess my problem is solved.

I'm downloading the file again.
Edit: Apparently I still had the zero file. I thought I had downloaded the DLC after the fix. It's working now.

Here is the link to download english version (you must activate your product with the serial for your copy of the game):

There's an alternate method, as with your serial, at the EA page you can download a legal digital copy of your game - which will be English.
Or, as I did a while back when I realized TIM was translated as Rejtőzködő Fickó (
The copy protection is the same everywhere, and frankly, I don't think it's piracy in any way.
Side note: The guy who suggested releasing the game in certain regions without the original English texts, should be suffering the effect of a krogan headbutt. Seriously.

If you are OK with editing registry, there is a solution:
Change entry Language in the following registry key from "hu" (or whatever you have there) to "en"
32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2
64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2
Then install DLC and after that change Language back to original value.
Everything should be in your original game language but Shadow Broker texts in english.
I have only checked mail "Shadow Broker Intel", but I expect that everything will be working just fine.

when trying to install it a message pops out saying that it cant create or write the temp file to start it
This happened with the first corrupt download, make sure you delete it and re-download, the one they have put up now works. The new download should be called shadowbroker(2) and also have a 'part' .exe file.
