AMGarkin: I am a bit newbie here. Can you kindly explain how to get to this registry and where to look for the local machine?
Thank you very much in advance!
Win XP: Start>Run Type "regedit" and press "enter"
Vista/7: start > type "regedit" in the search-field and press "enter"
I get the "Mass effect 2 needs to be installed first" error too, but I have the english version. (Live in sweden though)
The language key in regedit is set to "en", so that shouldn't be a problem. ME2 is installed on C:\\\\ and the shadow broker-DLC is on C:\\\\ as well
[edit]
Installing the Overlord DLC works...

No error messages, no fail messages, no non compatible messages, just won't install. It does however, freezes my download folder for about an hour and then I just gave up and hit end now.
yup this happened in subsequent downloads...
many dlcs came out today so i was weighing between bioware or 2k's mafia 2 dlc...
i bought amgarrak / witch hunt / firepower pack / shadow broker in one hot..
amgarrak / witch hunt froze at 18% / 19% so i'm trying manual install
shadow broker / either just hangs when you double click it... or hang just before you finish downloading it...
why do i feel that i get suckered everytime when i dip my hand into the DLC cookie jar??????????????
or should have probably just got jimmy's vendetta...... grrrrrrrr...

If you are OK with editing registry, there is a solution:
Change entry Language in the following registry key from "hu" (or whatever you have there) to "en"
32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\\\\\SOFTWARE\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Mass Effect 2
64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\\\\\SOFTWARE\\\\\\\\Wow6432Node\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Mass Effect 2
Then install DLC and after that change Language back to original value.
Everything should be in your original game language but Shadow Broker texts in english.
I have only checked mail "Shadow Broker Intel", but I expect that everything will be working just fine.
Installed and running. THX!!!

VOLanguage=INT
TextLanguage=INT
This will put your ingame ME2 language to English. The registry edit is just for the installer.

*bump*. We paid for this, it's only fair we get it in a working state. As this is a widespread problem, it should be BioWare trying to help us with troubleshooting.

If you don't want to have mixed language, go to ME2 installation folder, then open data folder and edit sku.ini, under [SKU] section set:
VOLanguage=INT
TextLanguage=INT
This will put your ingame ME2 language to English. The registry edit is just for the installer.

I know about this solution but I refuse to use it.
I spend money for working product not for change to edit the game files or OS parts.
Gues I will not buy any other DLC when they are not working properly.... Just waste of the money.

Thank you for the solution. It worked and I did a successful walkthrough yesterday.
Now I just have to load my previous careeers and replay the mission to see the different scenarios I can be given.

downloading now, will give it a shot.
(a little bit off topic) just through with amgarrak - one of the better DLCs... would have been better if it was situated within the game like soldier's keep.

I must say Bioware,that having to do such things just to play a cinematic that 1) should work 2)should be skippable just like any other in the game is unacceptable.
