Lair of the Shadow Broker - Cannot Install

First thing I've changed in Mass Effect 2 was sku.ini file. For me not including in installer an option to choose language version was just outrageous. Especially when int files are copied to drive regardless of your language version.
Second thing I changed to override "technical limitations prohibiting lair of the shadow broker to be installed on polish version" was manually changing of registry value of installer language.
I smell some very lazy programers in dlc release division. Was it so painful to include options to change language in installer or configuration tool? Coding that would be less problematic (and costly) that having to explain why Bioware "hates Poles Czechs and J... Hungarians...." to ME2 fans. I think that PR people in Bioware have better things to do than explaining that Bioware are not ****s....

then in the morning - file was ready to install...
i don't get it why it takes a friggin long time to 'run' a file.
anyway done with 'normal' playthrough for the shadow broker and it is awesome.
if only there were no install issues then this would have been the best dlc that i've ever downloaded.

Change entry Language in the following registry key from "hu" (or whatever you have there) to "en"
32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\SOFTWARE\\\\BioWare\\\\Mass Effect 2
64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\SOFTWARE\\\\Wow6432Node\\\\BioWare\\\\Mass Effect 2
Then install DLC and after that change Language back to original value.
Everything should be in your original game language but Shadow Broker texts in english.
I have only checked mail "Shadow Broker Intel", but I expect that everything will be working just fine.
You're life saver man! I was looking just for this solution. Thanks a lot.

I can run the file just fine, but it advises me that I have to install ME2 before I can install the DLC. I have the Steam version of the game, and I have installed other DLC's before, this is the first time I've run into this issue.
Any solutions?

I keep reading things like...
"Makes computer freeze"
and stuff like that...
should I just uninstall and and wait it out till Bioware fixes it?
....I have a sinking feeling I'll be old and unresponsive by the time they DO fix it...

Ya my installer claims I don't have ME2 installed. Is it not checking for the Steam distributed version?
I've got Steam and mine didn't say anything about ME2 not being installed.

Odd. My installer works, but it says "You must install Mass Effect 2 first" and quits on me.

well my computer just did a freeze on me.
DEAR LORD...
I deleted it from the file I stuffed it in..which I'm not sure at this point is "uninstalling it", but whatever.
Thanks to this entire situation of idiocy I am starting to regret buying more points to get this DLC....

'${31}\\Cooked_PC\\BioD_Exp1Lvl2 had the same problem in about 20+ files and there were 30 more in other unrelated files.
all of the above apply to the second download.
there also appears to be some type of weird "artifact" in the initial file segments of the first download.
it really looks like the file is being courupted during the download. i wonder if the server has a cross-signal from another download?

I don't regret buying the DLC, I'm really interested in the story, but I'm just disappointed I am unable to play it right away.
I guess I can agree with you...I read the comics with Liara and I'm curious about Feron even though he's probably in it for like...five seconds.

Are you trying to say, that you can 'make Lair of the Shadow Broker' compatible with Polish version of the game by simply changing the language manualy in game files (which I did already)? I was really pissed off when I found out about compatibility issues, as I own every DLC possible (including all pre-order items ) for ME2 but I've a Polish collector's version which was brought to me by a friend from there - I'd really like to play it without having to buy one more version of the game here. -.- Even if I'll have to, will my DLCs be compatible with a different copy of the game ?
