Let me tell you right now that is the line that they say (or are scripted to say) every time for these issues. They are NOT working on it, the file download is the final one. It seems each incident is unique and the problem types vary widely. The first file they released was a completely broken file. Many people had downloaded this and that somehow counted as the download purchase for many like me. When they released the working file, my problem is that it said my DLC was not authorized, and I suspected that because I downloaded a completely different file the second time and the system programming was counting it as unauthorized and unpurchased, but was listed in my purchased downloads list because they simply replaced the previously purchased one with a working file. They removed the (second working) file from my listing and reset my stats as it being a brand new download, which worked. In the process of installing LOTSB, it removed all of my achievements which was fine (I didn't mind getting the cheeveos again). Ultimately it took 4 days to get mine going after it was initially released.

After a few days (you should get a specific timeline from them instead of a gerenalization of a timeline) of when to check back and then you re-download and install, if it still doesn't work, put on the pressure heavy, that's what I had to do to get them to do what I thought was the problem specific to me. Tell them you want your money back if this isn't going to work. I have to say, the past few DLCs from Bioware have been near disasters, and this one is a big one considering the issue they created releasing a dead file the first time. Witch Hunt for DA:O still doesn't give the right dialogue ending for those who met certain criteria in Origins, though they rleeased fixes for it, it still didn't work and nothing has come of it since. Me thinks Bioware/EA needs to better their downlaoding system so when they have issues like they had here, that the end user doesn't get screwed out of their money and especially their time when some think it is their system, and not the file.

guys stop suffering ,its the shadow broker ,that is super gliched and corrupted. Look at the forum over 200 complain of same type or another ,,bottom line they dont care if it works or not, they got your money that is all they care about. The numbers of complains for that DLC keeps growing, and they have not had the education to even give us a tell ,if they are going to fix ,or what they are going to do, nothing.

Me i guess this is the cure for me,i was addicted to this game, that addiction is over, Game Over. Hope you guys can deal with this ,i am super pissed and fed up,bye

Bioware does make great games, hell mass effect 2 is my fav game of all..

but it f*cking pisses me off that those bloody lazy dudes just dont even both giving us a frikin PATCH to get these DLC compatible with localized versions. me being Hungarian find this to be borderline racism toward mid europe, and would ditch this bloody games company if they would make worse games

ever since LotSB all new DLC was incompatible with localized versions, does this mean no more DLC for mid europe? insetad for writing "sorry for the incoveniece" just make it compatible you lazy motherf*ckers!

Hello guys,

I guess the problem I am having is related to the fact that I purchased the localised, Hungarian version of the game. The installer says there is a problem with the language compatibility.

I understand no translations were made, however, I have been playing the game in English as I modified the ini file in one of the game's folders. Only the subtitles were affected by the localisation.

Considering above, it's quite frustrating that I am unable to install it simply because this was a localised version, which, if I am not mistaken, is the only version that got shipped to Hungary. I have been waiting for this for quite some time while doing my 3rd walkthrough checking every little detail again and again because I love the game so much, and this happens.

Frankly, I think I deserve to be disappointed.

Regards.
Peter

If you are OK with editing registry, there is a solution:

Change entry Language in the following registry key from "hu" (or whatever you have there) to "en"

32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREBioWareMass Effect 2
64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeBioWareMass Effect 2

Then install DLC and after that change Language back to original value.

Everything should be in your original game language but Shadow Broker texts in english.
I have only checked mail "Shadow Broker Intel", but I expect that everything will be working just fine.

Hello

perfect and easy and PAINLESS solution. I would like to ask, if I have to change the value to the original or not? I am standardly using English in the game, because Czech is not top notch and wonder if the en in register might screw something or if it does not matter and I can let it how it is.

Thanks for the answer.=]

I'll try and answer this, but the lack of punctuation makes it difficult to understand what you are saying.
When you click on the download link, do not select "Run", but instead select "Save", and save it to your local drive. Once thats done, run the installer program with administrator rights (Win7/Vista).
Depending on the speed of your machine, it will take anywhere from 5-30 seconds to then verify the integrity of the downloaded file, and start the installation.

Note: Because of the unique (ie; dodgy) way that Steam installs programs onto your machine, it might come up to say it cannot find Mass Effect 2. In which case, you will need to follow the manual installation instructiopns as provided by the Tech FAQ. Section 2 deals with DLC.

Hi! So I just spent an entire day downloading Lair of the Shadow Broker. No problems came up during the download and now I'm getting a message that it won't run! I'm getting that alot of people are having similar issues but there doesn't seem to be any help from EA. Is there a way of contacting EA and getting a hard copy of the expansion? How about an email address just to ask. I haven't seen a helpful link or contact info on any of EA site for over an hour now! HELP PLEASE!!!!

There are numerous reasons why it wont run, ranging from packet loss while downloading, through to lack of rights during the install process. If you want help from us here on the unofficial support forums, we are going to need a lot more info than what you have provided. Please consult the "Read First" thread for the types of details we need, make sure to include your type of internet connection, as well as which browser was used.

If you want official help from EA, you are going to have to look harder on their website for contact details.

Tell me one thing... How does the full, complete Shadow Broker .exe file (as if in correctly downloaded) look like in explorer? To be more specific: does it have the red ME2 icon like some smaller DLC? I have downloaded Zaeed, Arc Projector, Normandy Crash Site and Cerberus Weapons and Armor and they all have the red icon. Does LotSB have it as well? Mine didn't but I've been getting NSIS error.

And there's another thing. At fouth attempt od downloading LotSB I didn't get the NSIS error, but the installer has frozen the system and I had some HDD issues (though they may be unrelated). Fixed them, but now the game loads horribly slow and main menu says "One of the DLC <something something PART_1> is corrupted, please try to redownload and reinstall". The game itself works as before but loading times (like when requesting a new squad member or traveling between locations are unforgivably long. How do I uninstall the LotSB corrupted DLC? Should I just delete the folder?

MORDIN'S EDIT: Not patient enough. Deleted the folder. Didn't work well. Some sounds didn't load, muted conversations. Error pop-ups at startup. Tragedy. Had to reinstall. That helped. Will attempt downloading LotSB again. Fifth time. Most unnerving.

I do not want to live in central/eastern Europe...I always have issues that my region is not supported, that DLC won't install, because I bought the only available version of the game in my region etc.
Nevermind I will spend another 12 hours downloading, installing and searching for solutions...
I just do not understand, that why I am playing in English, trying to install English DLC I am told, that my game is not compatible which is justified (hope I am not using wrong word) by EA/Bioware that they want to provide me best possible experience (wtf?) and that english audio/text in the game so much differs from english audio/text in the DLC...
