So, Today was the big release of the Shadow Broker DLC and of course I was super excited to get it and play. Well I decided the other day I would rush through a whole play till I got to Illium and then get the DLC and have my romance back up with Liara. Unfortunately, I only recruited Thane before starting it, and never bothered to ask Liara about Samara... Now since she isn't on Illium I cant talk to her to get directions to the official and then get the cab to travel to the crime scene - every time I try to access the information on Liara's Terminal it just exits the whole screen...
Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC - Can't get information about Samara Dossier...

I have the same problem. If you do LotSB before asking Liara about Samara, the justicar becomes impossible to recruit. The info on Liara's terminal cannot be accessed (as described in the post above), and thus you can't get the correct dialogue with the tracking official.

Fortunately on my play through which I did the DLC during, I asked her about Samara first time we met. The terminal to look at the info about her IS broken though, so something is up with several things.

Is the police officer you have to speak with simply gone? Or she just won't talk?
I didn't think the game forced you to actually speak with Liara before doing either mission.

Well.. my last playthrough was quite a few months back, but it's officer Dara you're supposed to speak with, right? If it is then shes still there but she just says something like "nothing to declare, move along".

If you don't speak to Liara about the mission first, you can't initiate dialogue with the tracking officer.Slayne wrote...

Has anyone tried to remove the DLC and proceed from there? If not I shall attempt this when I return from my Orthodontist appointment and update you all with the results.

Okay, all I discovered is that game saves do not load without the missing DLC. I should of researched this before I attempted it. BioWare, please make a patch for this soon.

Strange...same problem...yet the terminal worked to get the information for Thane.

Just did a quick check...I had done SB then Thane and was going to do Samara next. Ran into this problem...reverted back to a save just before doing Thane's recruitment and was able to pull the info for Samara off the terminal. Sucks that I will have to redo Thane, but at least now I have Samara initialized. I would suggest that others try this to see if it works for them.

Good lord, this IS annoying. I did get Thane very early to get the sniper. This means I'd loose just about 12 hours of game if I was to redo-it from there (assuming I have a sav at the right moment.) We need a patch for this. Otherwise the whole DLC should be deemed broken. So please, bioware, fix this, help us, hear the plea of your faithful gamers!

Same problem here. When I talked to Liara I asked her about both missions before doing the Shadow Broker and the terminal had data on both Thane and Samara.
When my son played he did the Lair of the Shadow Broker first and was only able to get information on Thane.
Is there a Debug Console where you can force a plot state to get Dara to talk?
Do you have to pick up Samara?
What was her ship upgrade?
Loved Lair of the Shadow Broker -- unfortunate bug.

So where is the staff? I've seen no intervention so far, it has been 29 days and so far, 13 people manifested to have the bug, but I bet a lot more of people have not manifested and will eventually encounter-it... So why no answer from the staff?

I didn't have this problem, having all my toons past this point, but am posting to bump.
Shame to have such a glitch mar otherwise stellar content.
(And thanks for the heads up. I am sure I will eventually start a fresh run. 7th one, I think.)

I just ran into this problem too. I searched the net for help & found this thread.
Oh well, this is my 4th different Shepard & 4th playthrough so it's not that big of a deal, I'll just finish without Samara. I won't make this mistake again.
