I've fowarded the problem to EA support, but they fowarded the problem to programmers and I don't know if they're going to do anything about-it.

Anyway, I just wondered, is it possible to finish the game without getting a team memeber? Did anybody tried to do so?

Okay, I suugest that everybody that gets this problem post here. The more people that report this problem, the more visibility it will get. And more visibility should make this problem more urgent on their "to-do" list. It would be great indeed to get this fix. Besides, I don't believe this bug to be that hard/long to fix. After all, it is probably just a variable that's not triggering, you don't have to redo everything from scratch...

I had the exact same problem with it. I made a post like a stupid guy without checking if someone had the same problem. I hate my slow thinking:pinched:

Yea I had the same problem. Liaras computer doesn't seem to work for giving you intel about Samara. I had to reload a save and ask her directly then talk about shadow broker after.

And they said bioware staff did get here from time to time. Must all be getting their hand dirty with TOR... Still, we'd love-it that they don't let this work unfinnished, don't we?

Is there someone we should send PM to? I am not sure they did see the thread... it would be nice if someone could be sure they knew about the problem. Maybe if we modify each wikipedia to state that this bug exist and that we should wait for a patch before we buy-it, there might be a chance they notice the problem and do something about-it...

If there are issue with the mechanics, there is a word that we use for this kind of sh*t: a bug. Usually, we have to rely on the dev-team to fix-it. Sometimes, we can see bugs being fixed by modders (as with Knights of the Republic of TSL), but otherwise, when a product is sold, the seller has the responsability not to sell a broken product, I believe.

He suggest to refer to the "game master" inside the game: now what would that be? This RPG is no MMORPG, so I do not think it has any game master... oh well. We just gotta love to see how EA helps us to get rid of bugs: -give the player a cookie so he can forget his bug

-tell the player that he is indeed facing a bug and he might want to discuss about-it with all the others that encounter the same problem on forums.

Seriously, I suggest we inform ALL the Mass Effect community about this unfortunate bug with the SB DLC, tell them how to avoid-it (download the informations about Samara BEFORE going for the Shadow Broker!) and suggest them to wait that this bug is resolved before they download-it. If this would indent the selling of said DLC, maybe they'd wake-up and correct the issue...

I'd say that's the publisher/sellers job, promoting and selling a product with a known "game breaking" bug without informing potential buyers about how to avoid it is borderline fraud and just sad.=(

Anyway, here's some more:

Hello and thanks for your reply, but I'm sad to say that it didn't help me much.
How do I "refer game-master inside the game"?
And
concerning the forum links, if you had followed the link in my e-mail
you'd have ended up at the same bioware forum you adviced me to post my
problem on. *confused*
Thanks again for your time and I hope to hear from you again.

My god. There's no improvement or what? Still not saying a thing about what this game master is. Yup, you can't get enough of this kind of support. Kinda:

"Hum, let's see, one confused gamer there: Mr, you are confused, please speak about it over the forums... or Oh, a question I don't know how to answer: Hi there, sorry for any inconvenience that may ever fall upon thee, if it can consolate you, you can always see how to change your EA password in our Great FAQ... and on and on."

God, sometimes, we'd just like them to plainly admit they can't do anything by themselves but will do something to help with the problem.

I take it I should post the problem on the forums that closed a year ago or something like that?

Guess its time to give up on this.=(

This just happened to me too. I wanted to know if there was someplace else to go to get this unlocked. I wouldn't be as ticked if I had a save before the dlc, but that was 6-12 hours ago. Is there any way around this problem?

Why did you bother sending mail to EA? They didn't make the game they just publish it and provide the money.

Because of this text at the top of the support forum:
"This forum is for fans and owners of Mass
Effect on the Xbox 360 to assist each other with technical questions.
Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are
encouraged to try to assist each other here. This forum is for ME2
support, please use the ME1 technical support forum for ME1 tech issues."

Could anyone report if this particular bug is also hapening on PC? I've wrote about the issue to a BioWare dev team member and he seemed to believe that making a fix for this particular bug might hard as this game is multiplatform.... so if the bug is also present on the PC, maybe, just maybe they might be more convinced to act upon-it! By then, "I should download informations about Samara even before I get those about Thane" he said. Oh well! So please, anyone, report upon this. If you don't, I SHALL.... do it myself :P
