Just ran accross the same bug yesterday(PC User)
Generally its considered polite to atleast give a response to a post like this as an admin/bioware community manager. That there has been no response in all this time, tells me something about the level of respect bioware has for its loyal customers, but then we've seen a lot of that going arround with the other games to.
It is a bug that apparently effects all the platforms out there and allthough the Lair of The Shadowbrokers is a great piece of DLC if it breaks the game to the point where it stops recruitment of an essential crewmember then people should be warned about that beforehand at the very least and the problem should be fixed. Shortly!
Also some compensation for those who encountered this problem and had to wait so long for a solution seems no more then reasonable

And your helpdesk, oh my god, someone fire that person before someone bombs the ea support desk out of frustration. He obviously has no idea wtf he's talking about so why the hell is he working there.

Oh btw this might not be news that anyone wants to hear after replaying 35 hours on an intense level, but if you download the Gibbed save game editor(which you can also use to change your hair and eye colour 
and even you hairdo) you can just add Samara without doing her mission.
She'll be sitting there in the normandy observation deck cool as you please, just like you recruited her all by yourself.
Not something I usually do, cause I enjoy the mission to much, but in this case its a solution of sorts.

I'm pretty sure that is only a fix for the PC version, tho just had this happen to me today, should definitely look at forums more often, or just 5 months ago

Honestly, after so many months without even a RESPONSE OR ACKNOWLEDGMENT from Bioware, they've just lost a customer for life. Can't believe I gave them my money just to waste my time and not be able to finish my game because Bioware can't be freaking bothered to fix a variable somewhere. Even if they couldn't fix it, I would still be okay if they at least took responsibility and admitted it.

Well just do their RM's before doing LotSB, that's what I've been doing with my playthroughs.
I have been able to fit in LotSB before the Collector Ship if only Dossiers are done, with very few assignments done. So after Horizon, I pick up Tali then get Thane and Samara, before defeating the Shadow Broker.

Well I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I've played through the game three times (this is my fourth and my first time with LotSB), so it wouldn't be an issue except that this is the first time I've played on my own Xbox. So my import to ME3, unless I play AGAIN, will be sans Samara.
I don't really have anything new to add, I suppose. Just wanted to add another bump to the thread in vain hopes that it finally gets noticed by an admin.

This is seriously stupid, I mean, i'm glad I got a free copy of Dante's Inferno out of EA for ****ing about lotsb DLC ruining my perfect playthrough, but honestly, can this PLEASE BE REPLIED TO AT THE LEAST, BIOWARE?

I can't believe this.... I've just invested 60 hours of my life in trying to make a perfect playthrough on Insane (!!) to find out now it was a total waste because now I not only can't recruit Samara, but can't even finish the damn game???!!

Though this forum is about Xbox 360... so it would not be a good idea to try to tamper with your saved games...

I tried fixing by removing thane in the editor but it didn't work (probably works in some instances). I had to just select her as already recruited/met.. at least I was able to finish the game.

Would make sense for your post to be in the PC tech boards. Besides, they may know more though it wouldn't surprise me if they directed you to the mod threads for those who use those programmes.
Patches tend to be released fairly soon, unless it's a slow burning problem that patch 1.05 for DA:O sought to fix. After so long it is unlikely any patch will be released especially with ME3 just round the corner.

Problem solved with this Mass Effect 2 Gibbed Save Editor (http://social.biowar...ussions#details). Download the editor, run it and open your last save. Go to Plot/Henchmen/Flags and unchecked "Thane acquired", save and go to Liara's terminal. Read the info only about Samara (you will have the info for Thane too) and save. Go to editor, open your last save, and check back "Thane acquired". It works!
