On insanity stasis is pretty much only rivaled by AP, Warp, or Reave, and IMO the ability to completely remove the only tough opponents from the fight and deal w/ the grunts is priceless, not to mention the ragdolled effect.....its almost gamebreaking (sure on lower-levels its unnecessary )

Well part of it is a bug, so yeah it is game breaking.  While it is awesome, I still only rarely use it.  I almost always find the class power to be a better use of a cooldown.  The one big exception for me is stasis vs Ymirs etc with an adept.  But against anything that singularity staggers I'd rather stagger them so I can freely unload on them with my weapons.  There are times when I need both though and that is where it really pans out for me.

The Fall of Death bug is gamebreaking only if the target you want to kill is not the last one remaining. If you fight one YMIR mech, you might as well abuse the bug, because the YMIR has no chance anyways and you'd be only wasting your time waiting for it to fall completly, shoot a couple of times, use Stasis again etc.

I like Stasis on a Sentinel and Adept. For other classes I have other favourite powers.

Yea I would only use it on biotic classes, but still, it pretty much negates any tough fight if you choose to do so

I like Stasis on many classes, particularly Vanguard and Soldier.

Only for my Engineer do I have bonus powers that are clearly better than Stasis. Drone does a better job than Stasis again certain enemies, plus it has almost no cooldown, and you can take a different bonus power instead.

For playing on Insanity, stasis is a godsend. It can help in virtually any situation. Freezes the strongest enemy, like YMIRs, Scions, and merc bosses, so you can pick off the weaker ones. Also, it's good for holding an enemy still while you pop out of cover to charge the geth shotgun. The damage bonus immediately after the stasis releases is also very nice (but I've read that it is actually a bug)

It's a shame Harbinger is immune to stasis.

That is the purpose of crowd control powers. To make otherwise tough fights easy. And only two of them now actually work through "defenses".(the other is singularity, that for no reason fail on fenris mechs and varren/dumb as hell)

I just "found" an interesting and fun effect for stasis. I did the sucicide mission today and there are several places where drones fly in, or the platforms fly in with collectors. You can apply stasis and it will freeze them in-air and the platform will move out from underneath them ( killing them ), Also you can freeze a drone in mid-air and when they unfreeze the drop down into the void sometimes. Well I froze a drone flying in and then harbinger possesed the frozen drone. He talked some smack while frozen then when he unfroze he fell into the void. : )

Also Drone and Flashbang.  Maybe more that I'm not thinking of.  The AOE from Inferno rounds, maybe?

@ryold: I also saw the same trick used to kill the Scions on the DCS mission.  Just freeze them right before the platform moves.  Can't remember which video it was, though.

Yes, that was from Kronner, the first time I saw it.  I have never seen Harbinger get stuck that way before.   I always use stasis on the DCS because of that vid.

It seems a lot of  flying targets get killed if they get "freezed" by stasis. All those rocket drones in LotSB are instakill.

Because of a bug, Harby already is rendered useless for the entire fight with Flashbang Granades. Another power to help doing the same thing.... too much.

@jwalker - signature video = that is the hardest part of the game, and you make it look too easy.  Good to see some scmitiar love, but the two scion kills were cool.

 My thoughts on Stasis:

Stasis should have been avaliable from the start but only on the Adept. Aparently Shep died and 'was brought back exactly as he was' but somehow forgot how to use Stasis until he bumps into Liara again, and then can use it as a Soldier, or an Engineer? WTF? The whole point of the Adept is Crowd Control, and yet the Adept somehow forgets one of the main CC abilities? The Ability to effectively remove an enemy from the fight for a period of time sounds like the very definition of Crowd Control to me! The fact that you can use Stasis on any other class diminishes the Adept to me.

stasis is stupid broken, makes playing even an adept a rush job because of the huge damage boost (even disregarding the glich it comes with) and locking out whoever the best guy is
