I don't want to make a whole bunch of lame threads, so if they want to close this they can.
But I think it's important for Bioware and people to know, that I played through bugged and one not bugged.
I loaded one game from awakening, that was imported into awakening from a "post-epilogue" save, when they allow you to run around after the epilogue, and that was bugged, she didn't recognize the dark ritual.
BUT when I imported straight from my "epilogue" save, right after killing the archdemon... or whatever... There was no bug. She got everything right, and recognized everything.
My theory is the post-epilogue messes up the save, the only other way is if Awakening causes the bug. But the post-epilogue makes more sense, because it relates directly to morrigan. Infact many people begin the romance again with the mirror, which is I believe apart fo the bug.
Take that as you will, but if you don't want the bug, I'd import an Epilogue Save from Origins.

For my first playthrough of WH, I directly import my character from Origins post-coronation save and, as you, I did not notice any bug or discrepancy during Morrigan meeting.

Maybe you should post your remarks here because many users are complaining about DR bugs in WH.

Edit: may be you should edit this thread title to clearly indicate that it concerns Witch Hunt?

Bioware:
I'm sure you guys already have an idea of the bug, but I have played through several imports of the same character and I know what causes it.
It's from Origins, after the epilogue... when you guys let us pretend we are doing things before the final battle...
The bug is Morrigan doesn't recognize the Dark Ritual.
1. Loaded my character from awakening, in which I loaded from a post-epilogue save... bugged.
2. Loaded same character from epilogue save itself, the post-campaign one... no bug.
3. Then to prove it wasn't awakening, I imported the epilogue save to awakening, then to golems, then to Witch Hunt, and no bug. She reacted correctly.
The reason why so many people are getting this bug is because most people play after the epilogue, even if it's just to switch equipment. So that's what I think.

I have tested this theory, and Awakening is NOT the cause. It is any save the is imported after the Epilogue in Origins.

I know this is a bit off topic but what if you take the epilogue save but never "restarted" the romance? After my chat with Morrigan at the gates (About last night), my romance got switched from Love->Friendly. But my epilogue had the part about the ring and her regret. Does the DLC still consider you having a romance with her?

The problem is, most people who get the bug, I don't think have the mirror to restart the romance... I think they just went and switched their armor around, weapons, played Return to Ostagar... stuff like that. I think because it takes place after the epilogue, it bugs Witch Hunt. People try and restart the romance because it goes to freindly, but that is part of the bug. Either don't talk with her in the final battle, and get the awakening ending... or do talk with her and get the ring origin ending. If you know what i'm refering to...

For a game that has DLC you can play afterwards, this is quite an issue.

I have no longer the automatic savegame of epilogue to Origins

I have the romance with Leliana, but I did the dark ritual. I did "Return to Ostagar" after the end of the game and then I did with that savegame Awakening

I just finished WH with 2 imported saves both from the same DAO profile with the Dark Ritual Achievement , the first one I quick saved after the epilogue and the second one, is the original auto-saved Epilogue. It clearly confirms what Night0205 said, Morrigan talked to me like I refused her in the first save and when I played it again with the later, the dialogue played coherently. Thx Night0205.

No problem, yes by various different play throughs, this theory has been basically proven. Much evidence there is that after the epilogue saves cause the bug for Witch Hunt. I'd be curious to know if this fixes the Awakening/Morrigan bug however. Anyone have any ideas about that?

It didn't for me. The only one that worked for me was the epilogue save. Importing epilogue save into Awakening and then the Awakening save to Witch Hunt also worked for me, but the key was to start with epilogue save.

By epilogue do you mean the auto-save or the party camp save?

The autosave that you get right before you have the chance to talk to your companions in the crowd during the ending ceremony. I think the name is Post-Coronation Epilogue Save or something to that effect.

Actually I just checked and the name of the save is Post-Campaign Epilogue Save. That's the one you want to import going forward until Bioware comes up with a fix.

I just verified the workaround. Imported the epilogue save from Origins and Morrigan seemed to respect the proper flags set (in a romance, did the dark ritual and I had the ring)

Yep. Basically do everything before you kill the archdemon. That's the key.

LOL no joke. I literally did that! I mean just when my PC got the killing strike on the archdemon and it went into that animation of you hopping on the archdemon's head, I paused the game and stripped Alistar, Leliana and Morrigan (the three I brought with me) naked so I can import their gear into the DLC! Normally I'd do this in a post-epilogue save...
