Easy isn't terribly difficult, but I can imagine someone new to RPGs still having issues.

You found Easy too difficult? I played on Hard with no real crowd control except 2h sweep and occassional Holy Smite. That was with 2 warriors (Tank, and DPS) Wynne (Healer) and Lelina and I beat the game without changing the difficulty even Archdemon. You must be just hitting A and watching the game...
