Cant stand Paragon of her Kind it pissed me off so much took hours to do and the outcome and the rewards are not worth it only good part is gaining access to the assembly to get The Key to the City =.=

I agree about Paragon of Her Kind, but it helps to do it in chunks. I usually go to Orzammar fairly early, get Key to the City and recruit Oghren, then leave and do some other stuff before going back to finish. Otherwise it can end up the Land of Half-finished Playthroughs. Had to do that this weekend on a character- I took her out and did the Urn of Sacred Ashes, which is one of my favorites for its beautiful setting and the emotional stuff in the Gauntlet.

Fade isn't too bad since you can do it pretty fast once you know how it works. Orzammar I tend to do in chunks. Go up there do everything up to the carta, then go the Tower, Shale, and the Keep then come back, and finish it off.

I'm interested in what everyone considers their least favorite of the main/recruitment quests - Redcliffe, Urn of Sacred Ashes, Paragon of her Kind, Broken Circle, or Nature of the Beast.

For me, it's Paragon of her Kind simply because it way too long of a quest for such a visually boring environment, imo.

QFT!! Specially considering I hate the dwarfes. I hate elves too but atleast I get a choice to **** the elves over, that I don't really get at the dwarves (except turning some of them into golems).

Probably Paragon of Her Kind for me. It had nothing to do with the environment, since I liked seeing what happens when Darkspawn hold territory, and playing both sides was fun. However, every time that I've played it, the loading time got longer and longer as I went deeper into the Deep Roads. It usually made me stop playing for the night because I was spending so much time just staring at a load screen.

Paragon of her kind annoyed me to no end. :pinched: It was fun until I realized after all those injuries and hours of my life gone I wasn't even halfway done with the quest, and the color scheme of the deep roads made my eyes hurt, lawl. The Fade is a close second, although after the first run through you can get done pretty quickly and the extra attribute points are well worth it especially if your a lower level character (even though it can be pretty hard if your too low).

I agree with Addai67 though, do it in chunks just to get Oghren at least, and it's much more enjoyable (although you can't talk to him until your done). Plus it has some good loot at the end, and the broodmother is fun to kill.

Mages circle. It's boring and you get Wynn from it...followed by the Deep Roads one only because it's so long.

paragon of her KIND

Ohh a tunnel
Oh darkspawn
Oh locked chest with dagger
Oh another tunnel i need to check
Oh a new zone
Ah a new tunnel with more darkspawn
Oh . AH . UH . IH . AH . Oh .UH

The end.

What make no sense. My Warden actually *cleaned* the whole deeproad by himself in a couple of day. While the dwarf Paragon with an entire army got lost for 2 years.

I enjoy the Fade, which I guess puts me in the happy minority. The Deep Roads is a grind done all at once. I now do Aeducan Thaig and Caridin's Cross, then something else, then come back. That helps a lot for me. At least in the Deep Roads you can go straight to the World Map. Tis very annoying not to be able to do that in Nature of the Beast.

Dang I'm surprised at all the contempt for the deep roads. I dislike having to do the Fade section the most but I love the Deep Roads section the most by far. I'm extremely fascinated by the ancient dwarven cities and love fighting hoards of darkspawn. Before this Witch Hunt DLC, I had always felt that the ending for my Warden would end up in the Deep Roads.

I *hate* the Paragon of Her Kind....The way I've started doing it now is, I go ahead and go there after I defend the village of Redcliff, play it up to after I've taken out the carta, then go do the other main quests, then take on the deep roads. I just can't bear to sit there and play the entire thing again without breaking it up like that. It's just too long. I personally don't mind the fade. There is a lot of backtracking in it until you have all the necessary skills (ie, mouse, golem, burning man...), but it's relatively easy....I just don't like that I have to play it alone. I've become accustom to having my little party hanging about.

The setting is fascinating, and has its own beauties, but the combat is very grinding and repetitive and the story you get along the way is mostly in codex which a) many people don't read, B) I don't read on repeat pt's.  I wish they had put more party interaction in, such as a dialogue option with Alistair about the Calling or something.

I think it's just that it's way too long. Caridin's Cross requires a helluva lot of backtracking (if you're doing Crosscut Drifters and Asunder) and is full of *@!*&ing deepstalkers. Grrr. Then there's Ortan Thaig, which is fine - no backtracking here, and not too big. But then there's the Dead Trenches. Yes, there's some interesting stuff in here but the level itself is way too long. And once you've done that, you have the Anvil level, which is short, but that damned face anvil thing makes me grind my teeth. I know how to do it but, urgh.

If the whole thing were compacted down, it'd be fun. But it's just too long.

Recliffe, probably. They all have their annoyances and their good things, but Redcliffe is the least interesting to me on the whole.

I love certain parts in the fade:

The Sloth battle, and the dreams of your friends were cool.

The deep roads had the broodmother fight, and the bridge battle with the legion.

While Haven has the guardian and some origin specific stuff there for you.

For me it is Redcliffe. Out of all the quests, this one does nothing for me. I find it terribly boring from beginning to end with the only bright spot being coercing the fade demon to give you what you want. Which of course only happens if you are playing a mage. Otherwise there is no bright spot for me.

I'm not really fond of the Fade in the mage quest, but like others have said once you know how it works, it's goes pretty fast. I quite like the rest of the Circle Tower though. Plus fighting the sloth demon and seeing your companions' dreams are both fun. I agree with the poster that said that the PC's Fade dream could have been a lot better. I really think each Warden should have had a dream based on their origin. It would have made more sense and been more emotional. To have just one seems lazy to me.

I actually like the Deep Roads quest despite agreeing that it is too long. There are a lot of great battles in there and seeing the archdemon and the horde of darkspawn is epic. I have to agree with the person that says they don't like all of the running around you have to do for Harrowmont/Bhelen beforehand. I remember the very first time I played the game and I thought that the quest was over after I had defeated Jarvia! Boy, was I in for a surprise!

I agree that the Brecillian forest part of the Dalish quest is a bit dull (kill a tree here, kill a werewolf there...I'd much rather fight darkspawn), but I do like it once you get down in the ruins. Plus it is certainly the prettiest of the quests.

I've always liked the Urn quest quite a lot. It's got lots of interesting battles and I love the ice and snow. It's fun to fight your own party (they beat me sometimes! XD) and see who is waiting for you from your origin.

I'm with the 'love the Deep Roads' guys. It's so immersive. And has brilliant encounters. Yes the Deep Roads are pretty epic, even claustrophobic, but that's exactly how they're supposed to feel. Paragon of Her Kind is probably my favourite quest.

And I don't mind the Fade too much either. Attribute points, companion dreams and the fact I can get it over with in an hour stops it being much of a pain.

Less fond of the Brecilian Forest. It bugs me that the forest feels so small - even compared to the temple in terms of floorspace. The forest totally lacks the sense of expanse the Deep Roads has.

But I think I'd go with Urn of Sacred Ashes as my least favourite. The whole coming-face-to-face-with-Andraste's-miraculous-ashes thing plays havoc with non-religious characters, RP-wise. It just strikes such an odd chord in terms of the story. And though the Gauntlet was cool, it's far too blatant a rip-off of Indiana Jones to ignore. It also takes a blimmin' long time (in the story) to complete - Eamon's comatose for at least the time it takes for you to trek from Redcliffe toDenerim, to Haven, up a mountain and back to Redcliffe. Months at least. It's actually quite an enjoyable quest, but there are too many plot oddities for me.
