It's not really so much 'militant' as it is 'sensible'. Maybe (understatement of the year) you know something I don't. I only have the available second-hand sources. But we know that the elves are basicly facing genocide, even if it's not an industrial one, and that all offsprings produced by an elven-human union results in a human child. Those two facts alone should put almost any elf off at the thought of a relationship with a human. It's not like you have to be a fanatically militant elven radical extremist with genocidal hopes for the human race to come to the same conclusion.

I get the vibes that some Dalish clans are already pretty much Scoia'tael already. They're supposedly very diverse, with some camping near cities or alienages, with others living a more 'Robin Hood'-esque life. The amount of cooperation with humans vary.

I'm actually glad there's no female elf "romance" for a change. For a species that's supposely aloof and rare and in favor of long courtships in many settings, it's rather odd that in most games there's an least one if not several elven women screwing random men (who are usually not even elves) at the drop of a hat. And there doesn't have to be a "romance option" for every combination of race, gender and sexual orientation. It's not the end of the world if a character -- for whatever reason -- doesn't have someone to hump in a game. Since I dislike cross-species-lovin' quite a lot, I'll just have my elf and dwarf stay happily solo.

It should be noted that in Dragon Age, elves have comparable lifespans to that of humans, due to the quickening.

There are several factors that weigh in as to why roleplaying a elven-human romance as a pro-elf elf isn't really viable. If you don't mind missing out one a part of the game that's gotten a fair bit of work put into it (romances overall) by going solo, well congrats to you.

There's no reason for a human not to romance an elf, except possibly cultural issues, I suppose.

You could always roleplay a polygamist. Have the little elven wife taking care of your brood at home,all the while romancing one of the main ladies in the game.Of Course to be a polygmist you have to be married to more then one woman, and I don't think marriage happens in the game....so then that would just make you a cheating cad.

Oh no, no, no. My human woman would never do that. If the male is committed (whether he likes it or not), she'll not touch him. No matter what race. Not only Dalish or City Elves have principles.

But my warrior human woman finds human men very boring. She strongly beliieves in justice and equality. Picture her coming across an equally passionate (single) elf. Elven men are hawt. Cultural differences pale in comparison to attraction. Aside from that, saying that all human women are tarts is the same as saying all elves are inferior.

Gawd, (single) male elves are so... envigorating.
