Size seems to be OK, but the CRC is invalid. I am gonna download the file again and check it, if it is not the same as my original file, I will upload it somewhere.

No, it is the same file. Size, CRC and MD5 all check out. Must be error on your end guys. I recommend using download manager such as FlashGet for downloading the file. At least now we know for sure the file in this link -

http://static.cdn.ea...hadowBroker.exe

is definitely OK.

What?.....
What if got to be something with bioware server.... guess we should ask or something. Because I dont think we all download from the same server, even if they got the same adress.

No, it is a static IP, same for everyone.
Is there any chance you are using any Anti-Virus program or something like that? If so, disable it and try again. The invalid CRC clearly indicates the installer is corrupted and since there is 100% OK version on the server, it must have got corrupted on the way to your HDD. Also, try saving the file to a different location, for example not to your usual Download dir, but make a new dir called Broker or something and save it there.

To the MacCave!
that means gonna try download it from the mac then pass it to the pc. Wish me luck because the worst thing could happen is that it will never work.

Good luck :)

There is no reason why it should not work, when I downloaded it the second time to check, I just used FlashGet and downloaded without any problems. Hope it works for you guys.

Ok: out of curiosity, I decided to give one of the older DLCs which I already have installed a try - and what do you know, I get a note about it being corrupted too.

There seems to be something wrong with my PC, but what? What would you suggest Kronner?

I think it can be caused by 3 things (imho from most likely to least likely):

a) you have anti-virus or firewall running that prevent the exe from running correctly
B) your computer is infected by malware/virus
c) faulty hard-drive

I can't think of anything else that could cause this (except for corrupted .exe file of course).

Can't be either of the first options.

Come to think of it (I'm actually starting to see a picture here), the first time I had problems trying to install something was a few days ago I was installing Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms for my PC. It contained some seperate but mandatory Windows installation (can't remember what, though), and it said the same error about the install failing due to corruption. I figured it was just a random thing, but now...what could this be?

I do not think it could be caused by anything you installed to be honest. Since the CRC is different, best bet is that the downloaded file is corrupted. Check out CRC for some other DLC you have and I will check mine if they are the same.

For example for Zaeed DLC exe file I get:
Size: 522 684 080 bytes
CRC: 6E310AEC
MD5: 6c26e31293b126d276f00453dcccd13e
(lower or upper caps is irrelevant)

Zaeed:

Size:  522 684  080 bytes
CRC: 6E310AEC
MD5:  6C26E31293B126D276F00453DCCCD13E

 - that is, the exact same, and I can actually start the installer.

Good, so clearly the Shadow Broker file you downloaded is corrupted. Have you tried downloading it again to some other drive/directory? If you are not running any Anti-virus programs etc. there is no reason why it should not download correctly.

I have, and it doesn't seem to help. I don't know what's wrong, but the fact that I can download some DLCs and install them but not all of them is just odd and frustrating.

Any chance you have nVidia firewall installed? (Check My Computer> Control Panel> Add / Remove Programs)

That seems to help some people.

Ok, I downloaded it on other PC (which I do not use for gaming, although I did try the installer on that PC out of curiosity, and it worked), put it on a flash drive, put it on my PC and hoped it would work that way - but no.

So, it has to be something on my PC, but what? I'm no expert (at all), but like I said, the first time I noticed this type of problems was when I was installing Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms for my PC a few days ago. It contained
some seperate but mandatory Windows installation and it said the same error about the install failing due to
corruption.

Have you checked if you have the nVidia firewall installed? Have you tried running it as an admin? This is really weird.

edit: disabling windows firewall might also help
edit2: also check the path to the file, if there are some non-english characters, move it somewhere where there are only english characters in the path.

Well, you could also try dowloading latest Microsoft Windows Installer. It will help if your Windows Installer became corrupted.
