This is a no spoiler thread. Please, no spoilers.

Project Name: Expedition to Castle Ravenloft
Project Link: http://social.biowar...m/project/3399/

A faithful Neverwinter Nights conversion of the 3E campaign module Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. Includes extensive new custom content as well as a lot of the best quality content produced by the NWN community. As with the original adventure, many of the module's plot elements are dynamic, and things play out differently each time it is played. This module includes custom implemented systems for silver weapons, holy symbols, and secret doors. There are over 80 different types of monsters and over 60 unique NPCs. Additional NWN custom content includes updated tilesets, new monsters, new  PC gear, new placeables, lots of custom scripted monster abilities, and much more. Single player, multiplayer and DM-assisted play are supported. Multiple  henchmen with detailed personalities are also be available to round out your adventuring party.

Progress will be updated on the Bioware site project pages (gallery, threads, etc.) for anyone interested in keeping up to date.  If you are excited about this project, please considering clicking on the "Subscribe to Project" link on the right side.  You can also click on the big green plus sign (+) where it says "Popularity" in the upper right hand corner of the project page. That will cause this project to show up higher in search results. Or, for those of you who don't want to be exposed to any spoilers at all, you can just subscribe to the thread you're reading now. Periodic no-spoiler project updates will be posted here.

I will also be setting up a project collaboration web site soon to coordinate with team members and anyone else that would like to help out with this project. I would welcome contributions both large and small from community members -- particularly texture artists, 3D modelers, animators, and BIK movie makers. And of course, play testers will be needed as we approach release. All contributions, regardless of  how large or small, will of course be fully credited in the module documentation.

I've just completed the list of all required module assets, and am currently cross referencing that list with all the available community made custom content. After this is complete, it will be straightforward to list out what assets will need to be altered or created new. Contributors will be able to choose items to work on using an a la carte approach based on having a task for each required asset.

If you are interested in helping out with this project, please feel free to either send me a site message or make a post in the Volunteer Here! thread of the project Discussions area. Thank you!

My current plan is to push through this project fairly quickly. I'm making no firm promises here, but if I can possibly release this by Halloween 2010 then I will do so. That will entirely depend on real life commitments between now and then which are highly subject to change, but I will try.

Heh, yes, I do. I'm a independent consultant, and I'm currently looking for my next work assignment. If that doesn't materialize in the next few weeks, I'll be able to devote at least 60-80 hours per week to this. Hence my interest in moving very quickly on this project.

It will also depend on how much assistance I can get from the NWN community with the handful of custom content assets that are somewhat outside my area of expertise. Something that might take me 10 hours may take someone else only 2, and with much better results.

Well, it looks like I have a fairly sudden job offer, so Halloween isn't going to happen. Not sure how much free time I'll have for the next few weeks. However, I'll be spending at least a few evenings and most of the weekends on this project every week moving forward. Which is to say, most of my free time. Release date will be "when it is done". Progress updates and screenshots will be posted on the project pages.

Good news on the job offer!  :)

As for the project, I wish I could offer you my help but sadly I'm no CC creator... But I'll definitely look out for the release and if you ever need a playtester, I'd be willing to volunteer, should my time allow for it. In any case, good luck!

Good to hear about the job offer. :) I'm not a CC creator. But I love the Ravenloft setting, and I'll be curious to see how this goes.

I haven't been able to do much work on this project recently due to this new job. In fact, I'm heading out to Microsoft HQ in WA for training all next week. Things should settle down in a few weeks though, allowing me to make some good progress on this project.

One of the first things on my list is going through Hardpoints' Libris Mortis creatures to see which ones will work as-is, and make slight tweaks to others as needed. Also, a thorough evaluation of the NWNCQ castle interior update, and figuring out how much work it will require to implement 'True' Secret Doors & Illusionary Walls (assuming they aren't already included).
