As one who opted to explode the Collector base rather than give it to Cerebrus and argued that TIM was a threat who could not be trusted I can say now after completing SB that my prior argument was invalidated. TIM says ' Information is my weapon ' The SB has information that dwarfs Cerebrus and it's likely Liara could eliminate Cerebrus with a few keystrokes eliminating their funding. I don't think it matters anymore whether or not you saved or destroyed the Collector base because through the SB intel center you are in a position to exrert control over Cerebrus. TIM has suddenly become either irrelevant or a pawn to use. If anything TIM is antagonistic to the SB but with intel and influence that far exceeds that of Cerebrus it's unlikely TIM could be successful.
A campaign to take down Cerebrus is just pointless at this point.

You do realize that Cerberus was the one who found the Shadow Broker. I would thread carefully before calling them irrelevant or a pawn for you to use.

although i don't like them and i did quit them, destroying cerberus would be an idiotic thing to do. The enemy of your enemy is your friend.

I'd expect this to be more of a plot point in ME3. Shepard is basically completely independent of Cerberus now. He/she has direct access to the galaxy's largest info network, plus a lover/close friend in charge of it. The Shadow Broker Ship also gives Shep a nice base of operations that's probably the most secure place in the galaxy.
This has GOT to make TIM nervous, and the guy is a nasty piece of work. I fully expect him to try and screw you over whenever he can. Plus he knows Liara is alone on the ship; I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to destroy/sabotage it when Shepard's away.

Plus TIM is still running the show in Retribution. If Cerberus gets taken down or taken over, it'll happen chronologically later. Which probably is out of the range of ME2 DLC's.

I agree. If a team of 3 can infiltrate and take down the Shadow Broker, surely an organization with the resources and intel of Cerberus is easily capable of doing the same.

Why would he do that, when Liara helping against the Reapers is good for him? She took out the Shadow Broker, owes TIM more than one favor, and is helping his interests. TIM is the one who set this up, and he wouldn't have unless he accepted the likely outcome.
People are over-estimating what they've won. While Liara's assumption of the Broker's network is impressive, it isn't at the cost of Cerberus.
First, and foremost, the Broker's infiltration of Cerberus is compromised, if not destroyed. We read it in regards to The Illusive Man's summary at the end of the mission: while Liara assumes direct control, TIM knows who and where to look for the Shadow Broker's old agents. The old network, and it's penetration, is compromised. But TIM's infiltration of the Shadow Broker's network... that remains. Cerberus got the lead, after all, and the fact it could be made to work indicates that however infiltrated the Shadow Broker was into Cerberus, it wasn't enough to stop him. It also implies that Cerberus has intel and access to things the Shadow Broker does not.
While TIM's home is mobile, however, the Shadow Broker's ship is made to exist on one, known, planet, and only in a certain spectrum. Liara's base is not hidden.
Mind you, none of this is to say that Liara couldn't hurt Cerberus if she wanted to. But it wouldn't be as grave as many might hope, it would be far from one-sided, and it's not something Liara's own network could be guaranteed to come from in one piece either.
That, of course, is if there's a fight between them in the first place. Which, considering that Cerberus set this all up and Liara owes them for it, and they share common enemies and interests, isn't guaranteed in the least.

it should be happened after suicidal mission if you destroy collector base. if you wouldn't, DLC won't be activated. but probably DLC will be different way. yeah, it's good idea. but I think that Shepard still need cerberus, and illusive man no what he has Liara, and tons of valuable info in shadow broker ship now.

I wouldn't want to take down Cerberus even if it was a possibility. Regardless of failed experiments they were the organization that brought Shepard back, they were the ones that assisted Liara to prevent the SB from selling Shep's body to the Collectors to begin with. While the Alliance decided to accept that Shephard was dead, ignored the threats of the Reapers, basically have done nothing since the attack on the Citadel...Cerberus meanwhile has acted. Maybe negligently they've made some mistakes based on bad judgement but with good intentions.
So I don't personally see why I'd want to take down the one group that's helped done something and have taken actions against the Reaper threat. Just my opinion though.

The Illusive Man found The Shadow Broker.
The Shadow Broker couldn't find The Illusive Man.
Hmm....
Says a lot, really.

Why would I want to destroy Cerberus? I'd much rather use the Shadow Broker's intel to neutralize Cerberus's enemies.

Taking down Cerberus is something that should, barring extraordinary circumstances, be put off until the Reaper threat is over, if it is even to be done.
