Installed the Shadow Broker DLC pack downloaded 9/8 at 10am CST (redownloaded since it failed yesterday)

In Liara's apartment, ME2 crashes when the cutscene starts for Shepard examining the Prothean artifact near the stairs.

I had a crash when you first meet the Asari Spectre. When I asked her if she was a spectre the game crashed. Does it constantly crash? If so try mashing spacebar to skip the dialogue.

Mine crashed at that EXACT moment too. "a spectre?" CRASH.



SO many problems with this DLC... PLEASE FIX!

exactly the same here, right at the "a spectre" part.

I'm on:
Vista 64bit
Q6600
6GB Ram
GTX 470

Now this is a weird error.
The first time I played through I had no problems at all. Then I decided to replay it and loaded a previous save. I tried three times and at every time it crashed right on the "A Spectre?" line.

Then I thought I'd try to play it as I did the first time (trace my steps). So I took Garrus and Tali like the first time instead of Garrus and Thane. I even closed Firefox as I didn't have that running in the background before, and chose the "How are you doing?" option with Liara before I offered her the info on SB (as I had done the first time). And just like that, no problems at all with the cutscene.

I thought I'd post this in the case it would be of any help to anyone.
So for the same reason here's my system:
Win 7 (Ultimate) 64bit
Intel Core i7 860
4gb RAM
GeForce GTX 460

Same crash as the OP. I activate the Prothean artifact at the base of the stairs and I get an error message telling me there's no disk in the drive. I have a downloaded version of the game.

I have the same crash in Liara's appartment when the asari introduces herself als "a Spectre".

I had this problem too. Resolved it by choosing Miranda and Jacob for squadmates.

I resolved my issue by changing squadmates as well, went with Kasumi and Jack. Crashed previously with Samara and Garrus.

Interesting... I crashed with Garrus and Samara as squadmates as well.

Yep same here, using Kasumi and Miranda as squadmates. Hopefully can be fixed with a small patch and not having to dl the whole 1.5GB again :~(

I am playing LotSB and i get to the skycar chase mission. it seem to work but no graphics being displayed. i just keep getting the blank or foggy scene. the lock on text still diplays. have tryed it with multiple characters.Can any one help

ME2 no longer crashing at Liara's apartment when Shepard says "A Spectre?". I used Samara and Garrus as squadmates, which was the same as before when ME2 was still crashing.

Here's what I did:

1. Re-downloaded the Lair of the Shadow Broker executable this morning.
2. Deleted local DLC content files and re-installed DLC (fresh re-install).
3. Played with Samara and Garrus as squadmates... trouble-free playthrough to the end.

Sorry for the stupid question, but how do I deleted the local DLC files? Do I just delete the DLC_EXP_Part01 from the DLC folder in the me2 main folder?

Mine crashes after the car chase. At the cutscene where my car hits other cars...the screen goes black and stays like that. :|

Played Mass Effect 2 without a problem.

Installed latest patch, then DLC.

After speaking to Liara, i go down the stairs, turn right through the round door to go to the shopping area and it crashes.

I have re-installed DLC, changed characters - but still crashes in the same place !

To delete your local Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC files, delete the folder

...\\mass effect 2\\BioGame\\DLC\\DLC_EXP_Part01

had the same problem!
try switching off motion blur, put antialiasing to 2x, switch off dynamic shadows, etc... just siwtch off all the fancy stuff. that's what I did and it worked without problems.

on the SB's ship I could crank the graphics back up, had no problems after the car chase.

in general, if you don't see the injured people in front of the building after the explosion in the cutsene (you bump into "invisible" people), restart the mission right away because it won't work. just to be on the safe side, save before starting LotSB and load THAT savegame if you experience problems, maybe just restarting the mission won't do the trick.

oh yeah, i used Miranda and Jacob and for the car chase i took MIRANDA, not Jacob. maybe that helps too..
GREAT dlc but DAMN it's got more bugs on it than Normandy SR2 herself... :/ (get it? because Normandy is full of the Illusive Man's bugs ^^ I know, it's a bad one )

I also have a crashing problem, but it's not during the asari spectre scene. I actually got most of the way through the game without any crashes; however, just as i return to the Normandy, during the loading screen, it crashes. I tried installing the latest patch but no avail. It has happened twice. The first time nearly destroyed my computer.

Another crashing problem to add to our list: I never even made it to Liara's apartment - only saw the cab coming in and then blam...black screen. Anyone know what can be done about it?
