Hello all,

Many of you have encountered issues with Witch Hunt that causes the DLC to not react to some choices that you made in the Dragon Age: Origins core game, specifically related to Morrigan.

The team is at work on a patch to fix this issue and we would like to recruit 25 members of the community affected by this to assist us by trying an early a beta version of the PC patch and report their findings.

If you have previously played Witch Hunt, and encountered the reactivity bugs being reported (including the dark ritual), we invite you to send a message to me (Victor Wachter) with the following details:
  • Your real name
  • Email address
  • Confirm that you have completed Origins
  • Your relationship state & choices with Morrigan
  • Whether you’ve completed Awakening expansion
  • Whether you’ve completed The Golems of Amgarrak DLC
By contacting us, you may become a part of a pool of community beta testers and help us release the best patch we can to resolve the issue, and you may be asked to send us your affected save games.

Please note that while we appreciate everyone that responds, we will only be contacting those selected to participate.

Your name and email address will not be shared outside of the BioWare development team.

Note: We are beta testing specifically on the PC platform, but are developing the patch for release on all platforms.

Just wanted to also pass on my thanks for all the folks that offered to assist us with this. DAO is incredibly complex when it comes to all the possible permutations so having the additional real world cases in addition to our save library is very helpful!

Incidentally, I think we're very close to a PC fix now - beta testers should expect to have something tonight to test! If successful, we hope to then get the console versions of the patch out to MS/Sony for certification shortly after.

Just a quick notice that we're going to delay the patch - over the weekend we found one other bug which was fixed and we're currently testing.

We'll be contacting the beta group again to try this out and hope to deliver the full PC patch to everyone tomorrow instead.

Thanks again for your patience folks.

Just did a quick update here: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/94/index/4730386#4808506

We believe we've now got the last issue resolved and patches for all platforms are being created and will go into test asap.

There will NOT be a patch released tomorrow AM, however if all goes well we may be able to release tomorrow afternoon or friday morning (Mountain Time).  Console patches will go out to certification at that time as well.

I'll post another update tomorrow to confirm where things are.

F.

Will that impact someone's ability to load an existing WH save and have the final conversation play out properly?

Not at all, current saves will work fine.  The DLC contents are essentially the same but now with the new fix files, the game will just treat it as the same DLC so you should be able to resume an existing WH save.

Better news today... http://social.biowar...4730386#4825942

We expect PC out on Monday.  X360 has gone to certification.  And PS3 is on track to go to certification this weekend.

Have a good weekend.

PC being uploaded now.  We'll do a final check and then make it accessible to players.  I'd estimate about an hour from now.

Sorry folks, slow upload today - the updated DLC is still being pushed to the servers - it'll probably be another hour or so to complete that and verify it is ok.

Any word for xbox users?

It has gone off to certification - as soon as we hear back on a release date from MS we'll communicate it here.  (Likewise PS3 for those interested)

It'll over-install - we're not going to ask folks to manually delete or edit files ;)

Do I have to delete the old Witch Hunt DLC before I install the new version? And what is with the 2 DLCs for the items?

No, this simply installs over the previous DLC (or on its own if you didn't have it before).

As for the items DLCs (assuming you mean Witchcraft) these are the reward items for Origins and Awakening campaigns respectively.  Start up a new game (or continue a previous game) in Origins or Awakening and you get new loot.

Great, it just HAD to be something about the daupdater.exe, I couldn't find that damn thing on my computer to save my life.

As the instructions say, it is where you installed the game, inside the bin_ship directory.  PM me if you're still having difficulty finding it.

If WH was working before the update, you should not need to delete anything - however, if you are now having issues after installing 1.1 and logging off / re-logging back in, please post in the PC tech support forums so we can track these easier.

If you did remove WH completely (or in the future, if you re-install DAO), you will only be able to download v1.1 from now on from within the game or manually from your list of content here on social - we no longer point to 1.0.  This means you will not need to get WH and then the update from now on - 1.1 is all you need.

i downloaded the new File, installed it via DAUpdater but nothing changed:
in every scenario i try, after the last dialog comes the credit no "picture" Story or going back into game. ?
--> is this normal?

DAO german + Awakening + 1.4patch WIn7 x64 loaded a savegame before i walked into the last "Room"

Sorry if I misunderstood.  If you are asking whether there is anything else that happens after the last dialog / autosave point - then the answer is no.  Both v1.0 and v1.1 end the same intended way - your warden (you) do not actually get to see what the mysterious book/item is.
