Is anyone getting this: Required Game Version 1.04

It's in RED. My status for this is "disabled" because I don't have this non-existing patch!

The current patch level is 1.04

Available, (if you don't seem to be able to get it from within the game) using the blue and white "Download" button lower on the page at: http://social.biowar...page/da-patches

You mean "...the patch for the patch", right?  Image IPB
According to the BioWare poster on the "Official Witch Hunt DLC Update" thread, they're looking to number it "1.04a", (but that could change.)

Dare we hope that they're delaying it just a touch longer to get in some of the other  things that SHOULD  have been in 1.04?  Naaaaaaw...  Looks like there's way too much developer "OMG" around the things that are borked with WH  to think they had plans to slip in anything additional with a "next patch".  (Pity...)

As I mentioned in a different thread, it seems the patch that was due out today, with a definite due out Fri quote thrown in for good measure, is NOT going to be released today! I really had high hopes that it would have been released today, especially considering I have NOT been able to play the game since the day I bought it, which was on the release date. So a little over a month has gone by and nada, nothing, ""Same Old Song and Dance" (Aerosmith tune), fits the bill rather well.

Honestly though, I would have thought we would have been told something today if it was NOT going to be released today. I mean per the last contact, all they were doing was compiling the Patch 1.04a. They did say, if it didn't get out today, it would be on Friday. But again, I draw concern since we have not been told anything. I sure hope it comes out tomorrow, because I do not want to wait yet another week for the patch to fix the patch. Boy that sounds bad..................

**NOTE:  I went back and reread Fernando's posting from yesterday.  In his posting (See Below) he states:  I'll do an update tomorrow to confirm a release date/time..."  So, I wonder why he did not do as he said he would?  This paints a dismal picture in my book.  Anyone desire to provide their spin on this conundrum??????

Fernando's post from yesterday:
"Still working on this - the issue (and fixes) are not as straight forward as they appear, so apologies for the delay.
We believe we have now solved the remaining issues and the latest patch is being created now for all platforms to go into testing tonight and tomorrow.  If successful, we may be able to launch the PC patch either tomorrow afternoon or friday morning (Mountain time). Console patches will go into certification at that time as well.

I'll do an update tomorrow to confirm a release date/time.  Thank you again for your patience.

He didn't say if it wasn't out today it would be Friday. He said they may be able to get it out today or Friday morning.

And yes, he did say he would update today, but did you consider he may be busy enough that he hasn't had a chance to get onto the forums yet? Day's not over yet in Edmonton either (although at this point he'd have to be working late if he's posting from the BioWare offices).

You have GOT to be kidding me... how many 'mondays' are we gonna go through here?  And could you please stop saying"Thank you for your patience"?   Not to be an ass or anything but my patience officially ran out 3 days ago, though to be fair I can't speak for everyone else.

If it takes two weeks to fix bugs just for a 2-hour tops DLC then the fate of DA2 is looking grim indeed...

You'd rather they release a patch that doesn't work?

Okay, so as of 3 hours ago, it's no longer going to be a patch to DA:O, but instead a re-download of WH itself. Will that impact someone's ability to load an existing WH save and have the final conversation play out properly?

Maybe I could get my point across if I used an example. I come across a similar situation when me and my family order movies from netflix. Sometimes the disc is scratched up and when you play the movie it pauses and/or skips scenes. Then we have to send it back and wait for one that works, and sometimes the next one they send is just as bad. Which could all be avoided if Netflix properly tested the movies they received back to see if they still work no thanks to the people who scratched them up... I hate when that happens.

(And don't even start with 'then go buy the movie' or 'the reason the movie is scratched up is because of the previous people who ordered it not netflix' because that is not the point I am trying to make.  Nobody previously orders and uses the DLC that you buy and you can't get official dragon age related add-ons/dlc's etc. anywhere else.  Of course people want the product they buy for however high or low amount of cash to work the first time.)

My guess is you'll have to replay the whole thing, but I'm not sure since they haven't released the 'instructions' for said patch so we don't know how it will work yet.

Well, I'm happy we got an update from Fernando, but disappointed that now we have to wait until Monday, and that is probably a crap shoot. IMO, I would say the best guess is before Thanksgiving, lol. Now we have to redownload the entire DLC, rather than afixing a patch. This means that we will need to replay through the DLC yet again. I mean no problem we that, heck I play everything many times, when they work properly that is, **ding**! So, the story goes, on and on and on and on........Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...................  Image IPB

No one's arguing that they shouldn't have released a DLC that didn't have such a major issue. Absolutely, they should have released one without those glitches. However, that's not what happened. So in light of that, wouldn't it be better that they take enough time to be sure what they do end up giving us will work the way it's supposed to? Take your Netflix example: when you send that dvd back, would you rather they rush you out another that's scratched and doesn't work, or would you rather they tested the new one to be sure what they send you will work?

That was my point in my previous post.

maybe they should have actually tested the dlc before they released it, at least get some half way competent beta testers over at bioware.

the rip-off that was Awakening and the absolutely unacceptable crappiness of Witch Hunt is starting to make me worry about DA2. I thought Bioware was trying to appease the fans by answering some interesting story questions, but they really just ended up aggravating me even more. shame on you bioware... FOR SHAME!

Not at all, current saves will work fine.  The DLC contents are essentially the same but now with the new fix files, the game will just treat it as the same DLC so you should be able to resume an existing WH save.

Well, that's a relief, anyway.  I won't pretend this whole situation isn't a little annoying, but it's nice to know that once it's fixed, I won't need to start the whole DLC over again.  Hopefully that fix will come soon!

I'm not so mad that they are actually taking their time to get it right this time, I get your point on that.  The part that makes me really mad is this is all happening AFTER they sent out a buggy DLC.  If it was delayed back when it first came out so they could fix it before releasing it I wouldn't have minded nearly as much.

But because they released it without beta checking it like they are now some of us had to go through a dissapointing playthrough.
