I'm not so mad that they are actually taking their time to get it right this time, I get your point on that.  The part that makes me really made is this is all happening AFTER they sent out a buggy DLC.  If it was delayed back when it first came out so they could fix it before releasing it I wouldn't have minded nearly as much.

But because they released it without beta checking it like they are now some of us had to go through a dissapointing playthrough.

That's understandable. I'm not real thrilled that I bought it and have had to wait since I got it to play through it . I had started it, but found out it was bugged and left off after only a few minutes into it (I realize I could play up to the end, but I'm just going to wait for the fix).

So . . . for those of us that have already played through the entire Witch Hunt, we'll have to import our character from a previous module and play through it all again? Or can we just import the Witch Hunt save prior to the last encounter?

I've asked this question before and you were kind enough to answer it. I just want to know whether this has changed or not with the re-release of Witch Hunt.

Thanks.

Zy-El, Fernando's post on the previous page seems to indicate you could just load up the save prior to the end and have it work properly.

seems the bug may have to do with the dark ritual if you play female character she will say you denied her in redcliff but my female character made Allister sleep with morgan. so i dont understand why its claiming i denied her when i did in fact do the ritual.

and my way i played was dragon age{original} shale dlc ostigar wardens awakenings witch hunt i was thinking about getting the golems dlc later this month

and the  bar for how she is to me is all the way in the white end.so it makes no sense as to why she claims you  denied her..

also it wont even save after the talk to orgain after we get the book she says  there something else in there  that i would find interesting and then it cuts to credits

also should state that i am playing on the xbox 360

Eurypterid, I don't understand where your getting this info.  I don't see it in Fernando's last post, but than again, you have better connections to the folks at BioWare than we the masses do.  I have attached Fernando's last posting and if you could, would you please point out where it says, "...could just load up the save prior to the end and have it work properly..."   From what I have read from Fernando's last post, is no one knows yet if you will need to replay the DLC, or can pickup from the save prior to the final save.  I am drawing that from this portion of the message, "...players will need to re-download and install - full instructions will be provided... "  I just don't see how you can draw that conclusion from this message, but as I said before, you have access to way more info than we the masses do, so you may have received a communique from Fernando or someone else from BioWare, who has provided you with the info you presented.  If this is in fact how you obtained it, could you please just reference in your message how you derived that info.

Thanks, and please don't read into this anything other than a simple request for clarification.  I hope you are correct in your statement, but I just don't feel comfortable from Frenando's message, wherein he leaves the question unanswered.  However, he does say, "...players will need to re-download and install - full instructions will be provided... ".  So I guess we're waiting for those instructions and maybe, just maybe, he will provide the answers we seek in todays message, "...I'll post an update tomorrow...".  I personally hope he answeres it today, so I could possibly play WH this weekend, building up to the end portion, where the bug are running rampant, lol.........

The waiting game continues.  WOW, does that line bring back memories of my days in the Marines, wherein this line was the rule of each and every day, "Hurry Up and Wait", ROFL....................Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

Fernando's last message:

Sorry for the late update folks it's been a busy day for fixes - significant progress made today, but still some more waiting, details below:

PC - In Progress.  ETA Monday.

We've had to change up how the fix will be delivered for PC.  Originally planned as a patch (1.04a), the update will now be delivered as a v1.1 of the Witch Hunt DLC package which players will need to re-download and install - full instructions will be provided.

In addition to solving a variety of potential issues across various windows OS versions, and cases where more than one player/account exists on the same PC, this also allows us to future proof the update.

Although the core fixes have passed and are verified, we've had to explore and test a few ways to best deliver this to players.

We are now in progress on a full test cycle of the v1.1 DLC package which will continue into the weekend - and if successful we hope to release this on Monday.  My apologies again for the delay, we were very much looking forward to having this out to you earlier than this.

X360 & PS3 - Final tests.  ETA tomorrow to go to certification.
The team is on the final verification tests of the X360 title update and PS3 patch which are both looking good.  We expect to submit this to certification tomorrow.

I'll post an update tomorrow.

If you made a save in Origins after the coronation room, it's bugged.

It's from another Fernando post earlier in this thread.

Will that impact someone's ability to load an existing WH save and have the final conversation play out properly?

Not
at all, current saves will work fine.  The DLC contents are essentially
the same but now with the new fix files, the game will just treat it as
the same DLC so you should be able to resume an existing WH save.

Gunny, as noted, it's from Fernando's post on page 10 of this thread. A tip if you're looking for dev posts: click on the BioWare logo under a particular thread. That will show only the dev posts. It's a good way to easily keep up with them.

As well, keep an eye on This Thread. It's locked, but the devs have been posting updates there when they have them.

On a side note, I don't have any more inside info on BioWare's dealings with patches or releases than anyone else, unfortunately. I just go by the info I see them post on the boards (I use the BioWare logo trick to easily find them).

Well, if you have a bugged WItch Hunt, there is dialogue thats different even from the very beginning thats not correct (part of Morrigan's opening voice over) and you do miss out on some dialogue choices that should be available if you're going in a bugged save. So whenever the patch is released it may be best to just do the whole thing over if you want to get the full experience.

I really, really wish Dragon Age Central still worked, especially for the DA2 forums. That site was great for quickly finding and sorting through dev posts.

I think your answer will be included in the "Instructions" that will be released along side the revision of WH version 1.1.  Personally, I hope it just does a write over.  When people start delving into their systems to delete game matter, things can sometimes get a little dicey, which will in turn bring about more frustration, more negative commentary and more finger pointing, and we all know how much we love all of that, NOT.

So in an effort to slay that monster before it comes rolling out of the cave (Image IPBto Fernando & TeamImage IPB), heres' to hoping it is a "simple" (as if) write over and move on to game play, on Monday afternoon! Image IPB

**NOTE:  I don't want to do a double post, so in that vein, I am providing a link to a post I made in another thread, which may prove of interest in reading, if for nothing else, an attaboy to Fernando.  Here is the link, and my comments are towards the bottom:  http://social.biowar...ndex/4715495/59

Thanks for the regular updates.

It's unfortunate that the DLC was not properly tested, giving us the bugged release, but on the other hand, I've never seen a developer communicating with players so openly and regularily, giving updates on the patch status.

So, while your beta testing team is not very good, your community management does a good job.

I'll probably play it again. So I can have a game that's gone through awakening that actually recognises that I had the God Baby.

One thing is puzzling me...
Video games naturally evolve in terms of video and audio precision, star quality, story writing, engines, hardware, etc.
But logic is still logic right??
The flags marking your choices in DA:O are as difficult to handle as those in BG2 or any other old game. DA:O logic is not based on some new evolutionary rocket science that never existed before.
It's merely the same undying concept of flow charts or decision trees or whatever programmers choose to call it.
Also the concepts of time estimation, course planning, milestones, etc. are the same for any corporate entity in any decade

I think we're looking at a step back guys... a step back from solid code, top notch QA & QC, sharp timelines, etc.
My guess is; Bioware started hiring rookies by the shipload for some reason...
No offense intended of course.

Anything man made is not evolutionary, its all thought up, all designed and all manufactured and in a few years, very short time span. Take away man's intelligent involvement and no games, no technology, just nature is left. Games and technology change for the better very rapidly because of our desire to always improve our lifestyles and standard of living. Whoever programs a better game with better graphics, sfx, etc will get more people buying it, simple intelligent global economics and competition. Same with cars, model Fort T was the first model, designed by human engineers and in only about 100 years later, we have a huge variety of vehicles, all designed by us humans. No amount of time, randomness, chance with no intelligent involvement will ever produce a vehicle, any technology or piece of software, etc. Whether you're a software engineer, mechanical engineer, electronics engineer, in welding / fab, etc., all require intellect and at a highly trained level. No evolution here what so ever.

Incorrect. The way humans think is constantly evolving, whether we like it or not, and that reflects on our physical output, which is constantly evolving. Take a ship for example, we have gone from wooden to metal; this is an evolution, one that humans contributed. Something does not have to be alive to undergo an evolution.
Also, evolution is NOT random.

Anyway, what save would I import from GoA to WH?

Incorrect. Humans have high intellect and we are always designing new ways, by our intellect, to improve ourselves. Wood has always existed (trees) and same with minerals = metals, etc. Humans, using our intellect, over a short time span, thought of ways to make wooden and then metal ships, to always better ourselves. No humans = no ships = no technology of any type no matter how much time has passed. No animals has ever made a ship to this day, let alone any technology like us humans. In the deep oceans, on land, in the air, in space, many complex languages, clothing, computers and related tech, all in a very short time span for us, etc. When people say games evolve or cars or warfare or anything human made, that is totally incorrect. No humans = no tech of any kind period. I have never heard of an animal(s) do this and that's billions of generations. So DA 2 does not evolve, its programmed by software engineers with University Educations (highly complex and intelligent) and its still full of many bugs. So no software engineers = no DA 2, no matter how much time will pass. And we also have creativity and imaginations and that why games are made so emotional and colorful, same with vehicles and any tech.

Evolution is no intelligent involvemt in any specific process. Basically, long periods of time, randomness, chance, "dumb luck", mutations, etc.  When you have humans or another life form intelligently designing and making things happen over a short time period, that is not evolution and never will be.
