It was probably just a bug with the origin save... which then created this big problem later down the road. Fix the root of the problem, and the tree will be fine.

I received an e-mail, however, I am having trouble with sending the files through e-mail. I am a bit unsure of what you meant by "zip the file", do you want us to zip the DAS file or the "slot #" folder?

They are only fixing this so fast because they know they ripped us off with this dlc. It wasn't worth the money and being the final dlc for origins you would think they would of reyes harder.

I just zipped everything in the "Slot #" folder. The .das, .das.met, .dds, .XML, and the .jpeg just to be on the safe side.

Let's just hope that who ever is in charge of patching the rest of origins will get around to it. Everyone and their dog can tell you some of the bugs. Well, maybe not, but just go to Dragon Age Wiki Bugs/Glitches and there you have the list of things to fix. Can't wait for the Witch Hunt patch btw.

Just wanted to give a quick update: We've received plenty of save files and they are being examined by the quality assurance group. A beta version of the patch was released to the beta testers who were selected from last night's recruiting, and we're awaiting feedback. The patch will be in additional testing over the weekend to verify it on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Thank you for your patience through all of this and thank you to the awesome people who are helping us test!

Thank you Bioware for fixing this quickly and for Witch Hunt. Will this patch be called 1.05 patch?

Do you think that certification on the patch for the consoles will take as long as certification for an actual DLC, or do you guys expect that process to be faster? I know you can't give real time estimates since that kind of thing is on Microsoft/Sony's end, but do you have some kind of ballpark guess?

You guys worked that out really fast, so thanks for your efforts!

Does it just fix the root of the problem from the Origins epilogue then?

If so I will have to play through the entire freaking game because I no longer have an Origins save, and my Awakening guy is bugged.

No, they fixed it properly.

They asked us to send our broken save that we used to import our character into Witch Hunt, and once they sent the beta patch files we load up the previously broken save. It fixed whatever wasn't working so that your decisions would be properly recognized.

So no, you do not have to play Origins all over again. It should fix your Awakening save.

My game sat there for ages with witch hunt in a 'downloaded' state doing nothing more. Only about 15 minutes later did it finally change to 'extracting' and then it installed. I'm on Windows 7 64. I was just about to tear my hair out...

I'm so happy! I wonder how they fixed it though, unless it's just a fix you only download if it was bugged for you, interesting.

Just fix the issue with no autosave at the end. So we all could get out final DAO autosaves and wait for DA2 in peace.

Well, you don't NEED an autosave after Awakening. All important decisions have been made by that final auto-save as you approach  the final boss.  No matter what you say to the final boss, nothing will change in your epilogue, so there is no reason to have a post ending save, since there is no DLC that might have come out after you finished the game like Origins itself had.

I think he/she is refering to Witch Hunt.

Did your BETA PATCH have an autosave at the end?

Pretty sure patches don't take as long to certify as DLC since there is no pricing and such, they just need to upload it, though don't quote me.

Ah, no I thought that he/she meant Awakening, I've not played Witch Hunt yet (waiting for patch on 360), so I am not sure if it "saves" just before a final boss fight or not.  I know  Golems of Amgarrak did the same thing, no "choices" after the final boss fight necessitating a "final save"

The reason why I ask is because Bioware has confirmed that your decisions at the end of Witch Hunt does effect the world of Dragon Age, and need to have a autosave afterwards in order to import those decisions into DA2... where as Golems and Awakening didn't need a END save, but one that saves right before the final boss.

Haven't played through the entire DLC yet, but the patch files do appear to have solved the problem, Morrigan gave a slightly different intro and I had a new dialogue option, both of which match what should have happened. So far so good.
