I got the bug with a character save made after the Post-Coronation save.
So, I tried the same character with the Post Coronation save and still got the bug even tho I completed the ritual.
I decided to uninstall and reinstall everything, which presented a new problem. I installed DAO, then Awakening, then the 1.04 patch. However, I wasn't able to download the Lucky Stone, Dragon Armor or Stone Prisoner - those were set for DAO v. 1.0 not 1.04. The Feastday Gifts and Pranks are set for 1.03, so they can't be used for 1.04
So I uninstalled it all, reinstalled DAO, downloaded the Lucky Stone, Stone Prisoner and Armor content. Then installed Awakenings which also installs the 1.03 Patch, which then allowed me to get the Feast Day gifts. Then I added the 1.04 patch which allowed me to get Witch Hunt along with Witchcraft for Origins and Awakenings.
I have no idea if any of the other DLC is 'pegged' to an older version like 1.0 or 1.03 but that might be a problem to watch for if you're going to reinstalled everything.
I ran into a similar situation with a new install of the game. I never had the bug for the Silverite Mine in Awakenings until I reinstalled the game. My last playthough of Awakenings...I lost all of my equipment. This never happened to me before. So it appears, when reinstalling the game, if the patch files are missing with an uninstall and not reinstalled in the proper order than the game is being broken.
Are the past patches provided in the correct order on the patch download page. I seem to recall only the lastest patch of 1.04 and not the previous ones. Bioware can you please make all previous patches available, if they are available where do I download them from if they are not on the patch download page.
I'm also wondering since all of these beta testers are available will the patch team also take a look at their save files from the Silverite Mines. This is a hugh bug that is game breaking for owners of Awakenings. I would like to see this fixed, since I enjoy playing Awakenings as much as Origins.
Also, why can't we have a seeable autosave to all games and dlc instead of a hidden save? I find the hidden saves annoying. I'm just wondering why the hidden saves are used.
Several pieces of the above messages make no sense to me, because from extensive experience:
1. All patches for DA are comprehensive and include all necessary components from previous patches.
2. Awakening will install 1.03 whether you want it or not.
3. All DLC that requires a specific patch level will work with that patch OR any later patch (due to 1. above)
There's generally no need to download an older patch, so BW only provides the latest. If you really want an older patch, they can generally be located by a suitable Google search. And statements like, "those were set for DAO v. 1.0 not 1.04. The Feastday Gifts and Pranks are set for 1.03, so they can't be used for 1.04" don't match up with my own experience in re-installing to multiple PCs.
"will the patch team also take a look at their save files from the Silverite Mines."
I have *no* expectation that the patch currently being beta-tested for WH will make any attempt to fix the Silverite Mines bug. That bug predated 1.04, and due to (IMHO) poor handling of bug reports by BW it never got properly acknowledged in the run-up to 1.04. It has now been acknowledged, but a fix for it is both non-trivial and also affects a completely different portion of the game than the WH issue--so I expect BW to issue a low-risk patch (1.05?) that only fixes the plot flags that matter for WH, and then we'll all pray for at least one more patch (1.06?) that actually fixes the SIlverite Mines and other outstanding issues of significance.
When will the Ancient Elven Boots and Shaperate's Blessing be officially fixed? I don't expect those in my lifetime.
And I guess if I want the "wrap up Morrigan's story" expansion pack that I had hoped for, I'll need to spend some quality time teaching myself more about the toolset--because BW has already refocused on DA2.
