...Will thias be a patch that fixes some stuff and then breackes the game?

I lost all faith in DA DLC.

It seems there are 2 Biowares one that does quality work that does not dissapoint (even if they haven't FIXED the damn save transfer form ME1 to ME2) and the other that feeles like its just phoning it in.

Or, there's the Bioware that's just been a bit unlucky with the patches they've released? If they were phoning it in we wouldn't be getting the patch at all. Stop being so ungrateful, they have no obligation at all to provide you with one.

"Just a bit unlucky" does not describe the current situation.

It's not a question of owing, or obligation. It's a question of doing proper and effective QA during the software development process, and not releasing software that hasn't had sufficient testing. Bugs in 1.02 and 1.03 should never have seen the light of day; the Silverite mines bug still hasn't been properly fixed, and now WH gets released with issues that affect a significant percentage of the target audience.

@Thomas, seriously.

Players do PAY for this stuff.

All the "be thankful the creators blessed you with the game" posters here are sorta annoying. I agree that Bioware is awesome, but have a little perspective.

Any time a company puts out a product that doesn't work the way the people paid for it to, the company ALWAYS has a responsibility, if not a legal obligation, to fix the product.

There are too many people on this forum acting like star-struck teen girls at a Justin Bieber concert when it comes to Bioware. You might think Bioware is really cool and all and that's OK but it would be wise for you to come to understand that, at the end of the day, Bioware is a company selling a product to PAYING consumers.

"You accept Bioware's broken game and pray they feel you are worthy enough to have it fixed!!!!!"

Perspective, people. Perspective.

You can't. Mods are PC-exclusive thing and DA is no exeption to this rule.

Technically I suppose it is possible to hook up the xbox to the PC and start messing with the game files on the xbox's hard drive, but that means kissing your warranty goodby and I believe Microsoft is actively banning people with modified consoles from xbox live.

I've heard if I just delete Warden's keep Vigilance will look like it's supposed to.

Well, there are mods on PS3. But developers rarely bother to allow them and to create mods in the first place you need PC anyway.

Sadly, DAO is not the case.

You never thought that perhaps the business of paying for a game, or ANY form of trade really, might be mutual and not one-sided? Customers have a right to make a petition against the company if they feel they have been swindled or shortchanged for their money with a "quality" good. This game is one of THE buggiest in the history of the industry, and you are telling us to be grateful? How do you think that will look to those who are NOT able to play their DLC at all due to the bugs and errors that pop up? I believe, in an understatement, that we customers have every right and then some to complain if we feel like we had been cutpursed and spat out for our choice in purchase. You can argue that those at the company have no obligation to provide us with DLC or a working game, as long as they wish not to make any more money from those who had been screwed over for their time. Professionals understand customer loyalty. Does Bioware? I bet DA:2 will answer that, maybe...

I really think that someone on the DRAGON AGE quality control team needs to lose their job...I do not think we can call this an EA issue (though I am not a fan of EA) as the ME team seems to be on top of their game in terms of dlc quality and value...whats most contemptable is that in simply wanting to be able to play what we paid for in the way in a way that isn't broken and to expect some modicum of value for our dollars we get an attitude and defensive posturing from bioware, such as Stanley Woo essentially telling us that we should take the garbage that the Dragon Age team gives us and smile and be grateful that they ever divine us with any fixes...but again its is not an EA thing nor is it even an overall Bioware thing...it is a Dragon Age thing...

Fire the testers?  Hardly the solution.  QA is the first thing that gets short-shifted when an unrealistic deadline looms.  Don't blame the testers when they haven't been given enough time to do the testing.

Let's look at this WH bug that has everyone up in arms.  It ONLY affects those player saves in which you load and save an Epilogue save to go through unplayed DLC; this happens after Origins has been completed.  The DR flag is screwed up.  This is an Origins bug - not a WH bug.  It existed before WH ever came out.  It has only come to light because WH is the only DLC so far that looks at the DR flag - I suspect that they would have had to fix this bug anyways as it would have affected Dragon Age 2 which undoubtedly would look at the DR flag.

My point is:  if players DO NOT load and save the Epilogue save, the DR flag is not corrupted.  The workaround exists.  And in fact, Bioware has already confirmed that patch 1.04a will fix this problem.  So, stop your whining! Image IPB

Thank you Bioware for fixing the problem

Victor, does this patch also fixes the epilogue with Awakening or just WH?

My concern is mainly that if BioWare didn't realize the DR flags were messed up when importing into Witch Hunt- a DLC whose big selling point is reactivity to the DR- what does that say about the possibility of other choices from Origins being messed up when imported to DA2? The DR is the biggest choice in Origins and its flags were messed up when using the post-epilogue save, which many people use before importing to tweak equipment and so forth.

If the flags for the biggest, most important choice from Origins are messed up, what does that mean for any other choices that may be imported into DA2? Hopefully not much, but Awakening had import problems too- I just hope whatever the DA2 import system turns out to be, it has a bit more transparency so we know what choices we're actually importing and don't get surprised by buggy imports like in Witch Hunt.

Hopefully this fix works with existing Witch Hunt saves. I don't want to have to play through Witch Hunt 3 more times for my 3 characters I've finished it with. (All three bugged)

Just a quick notice that we're going to delay the patch - over the weekend we found one other bug which was fixed and we're currently testing.

We'll be contacting the beta group again to try this out and hope to deliver the full PC patch to everyone tomorrow instead.

Thanks again for your patience folks.

Did I say everyone here was a blind Bioware fan? No, I don't think I did.

There are some, obviously, as mister "Be grateful that they made the game," fits the bill.

I never said that everyone was, nor more than half, nor any number for that matter. I just said "all of the" indicating that I feel that there is more than one.

But anyway, the guilty dog barks first...have you been going around the board bothering people that criticize Bioware?

The dialogue with the dog that has the options "Don't worry we'll find Morrigan" and "Don't worry we'll get the child back" appeared in my first run through of WH but not in the second run through (which was done with the same save game).
Just thought I'd mention that.

The inital line "harder words I've never spoken" was present in both of my run throughs though.

Thank you.

(oh I'm not a beta tester just a player of the game)

Also, the only thing that changed during my first run through and my second run through is that I downloaded warden's keep. (if that has any relevance).
