My concern is mainly that if BioWare didn't realize the DR flags were messed up when importing into Witch Hunt- a DLC whose big selling point is reactivity to the DR- what does that say about the possibility of other choices from Origins being messed up when imported to DA2? The DR is the biggest choice in Origins and its flags were messed up when using the post-epilogue save, which many people use before importing to tweak equipment and so forth.
If the flags for the biggest, most important choice from Origins are messed up, what does that mean for any other choices that may be imported into DA2? Hopefully not much, but Awakening had import problems too- I just hope whatever the DA2 import system turns out to be, it has a bit more transparency so we know what choices we're actually importing and don't get surprised by buggy imports like in Witch Hunt.
My feeling exactly...
But what takes the cake for me is the fact that nobody at QA or whatever noticed the missing gamesave that was supposed to be made at the end of WH.
Messed up flags from way back in Origins that WH needs is one thing, programming & technical... but not noticing an autosave being created??? At best looking for a screen that says "Autosaving game", at worst looking in the appropriate directory on the disk to see if the files are there...

tomorrow...day after or whatever... what does it matter... stop whining about it not releasing on some specific day

I'd normally agree with this, and I was very happy they moved on this as fast as they did, but I'm beginning to question the commitment here.
Rushed games, bugs, delays fixing the bugs . . . .it's becoming a pattern. And not a good one.

I'd rather they make sure the patch works than rush it out today just because they *thought* it would be ready today.
True, I just wish they'd done that with the game . . . .

looks like they release the game and then see if there are any bugstaine wrote...
I am not saying this as a complaint, but I am kind of curious about what exactly the QC process is like that allows huge, obvious bugs like this to slip through. Is it a matter of needing to rush to make the release date? It's certainly not something unique to Bioware. I guess I am just curious about how the process works in the games industry.
its better that way

What is the patch for exactly?
There's a bug where, if you do not import the perfect save into WH, the game misreads your Morrigan relationship flags, to the point where people who romanced Morrigan and did the DR with her were being treated in the game as if they didn't do the DR, and/or never had a relationship with her.
Very frustrating for someone who DID do the DR to be told by Morrigan in WH that the character turned down the DR and betrayed her. Game ruining, in fact.

And the lack of a end game save- whose exclusion would negate the whole point of importing the end choice into future games...

As someone explained to me on this board awhile ago, these I believe are called hidden saves. I'm all for the good old fashion autosave.

Did it actually not save? I was under the impression it did, just wasn't accesible - not that there's a practical difference. I'm also on the 360, so that may have something to do with my confusion there.

Nope it didn't save, that is another thing they said they are aware of and are fixing

I don't suppose anyone's said whether this patch will fix an existing WH playthrough? I've got a save from just before the Morrigan conversation I could load, if that were so. It wasn't so much fun that I particularly want to repeat the whole DLC just to get that conversation the way it should have been.

Well, that was disappointing. I get to the end of the thing, and Morrigan's gone nuts and thinks I didn't send Alistair to her bed after all. *sigh*

My understanding from reading what's been written by the beta testers is that the patch will fix up a WH game in progress. So you shouldn't have to replay it.

In WH's current state there is no end game save that would track your decision with how you dealt with Morrigan. Thats what the patch should fix though- basically that split second scene that flashes after the cutscene and before the credits is when the game shoudl be creating the last auto save to conceivably import into DA2.
But that should be fixed with the DR stuff in the patch.

Yay! I was NOT expecting that answer. That's very nice. I found it especially dull to play through a lot of this DLC because my Warden was already at level 35, so I wasn't even earning XP. Given how much stuff they've made available, they really should bump the level cap up.

I was hoping they would make a patch to fix the infamous bugs in Awakening. Particularly all the armor and weapon visualization bugs, the silverite mine bug, the quest bugs etc...

Yea like bump it up to 40 or something by the time WH was over.
