After discovering the new species known as the Yahg at the end of Lair of the Shadowbroker, the codex says they're a terrifying and ruthless species with great strength, agility, and intelligence. The Yahg culture is based on violence and brute strength, which reminds me of Krogan who are a powerful species with a long history of war. The Yahg seem to be one of the more intelligent species, but this intelligence is contradictory to their brutish behavior. The wiki says they're also agile, I'm surprised something that large could be considered agile. The Shadow Broker certainly needed that energy shield, because he had no chance of avoiding my attacks. He was fast however, so I'll give them speed, but not evasiveness. If these Yahg are so large and powerful as well as skilled in many other attributes, how would they fair in a fight with one of my favorite species, the mighty Krogan!

Thoughts?

PS:Keep the majority of the discussion on Krogan vs. Yahg, but once you've answered that I'd love to hear about other species you think could go toe to toe with these monstrous humanoids. (Shepard doesn't count, because we already know)

I was wondering this myself the first time I met the Shadow Broker. I think it depends on the situation. If it it was a one-on-one fight between individuals of the two species, I'd give it to the yahg based on your in-game experience fighting both krogan and the Shadow Broker. If it was an all-out war between the two species, however, I would give it to the Krogan (but only if it were pre-genophage Krogan) since the Krogan had such a high birthrate they could likely overwhelm the yahg in numbers. This is just speculation, of course, since there is (as to date) no information about yahg birthrate numbers.

Anyways, just my thoughts.

I think Wrex could have pretty easily killed the Shadow Broker in a straight-up fight.



Gotta remember: Yahg, as a pre-spaceflight civilization, ain't got no biotics.

Wrex killed the thresher maw alone while Shepard needed Grunt and another friend. Shepard killed the Shadow Broker. Therefore I think Wrex wins.



Seriously though, krogans seems more advanced overall, they even have strong biotics and top of the line tech despite the sorry state Tuchanka is in. The Yagh on the other hand are still stuck on their planet with the exception of the SB.
