Ok so I started messing around with the OC mod files in the toolset and forgot to make backups of the original files. Some of them aren't loading anymore, it comes up with a message saying the file may be corrupt or was created using newer content. As I know the last part can't be true all that leaves is that they're corrupt. So I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it multiple times using diffrent methods. (ie. keeping custom content, deleting custom content, searching my computer for anything with nwn in the name and deleting it...)

Everytime i reinstalled it though and went to play my modifications were still there! And the game would come up with the same message when I tried to leave West Harbour after retrieving the first shard. Which is odd because all my modifications were to West Harbour, Neverwinter, and Ember, yet I can't go to the Weeping Willow !!

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Yeah, modifying the OC isn't really a good idea unless you make a copy of the module in question first, and make your changes to it (leaving the original alone).

For one thing, you screw up any hope of future updates being successful.  For a second, you get this problem too.

Try searching on your NWN2 dvd to see if there is a folder with the modules in it.  You could copy/paste them over into the appropriate folder on your computer.

If you do/did an un-in/re-in, it should have put back pristine copies of the OC modules.

yeah you'd think it would put back the original ones, but somehow it's not. It's even pulling custom content that isn't in my override folder anymore.

I'm guessing that any module files would be in the data#.cab files that I can't open because they're a diffrent format. They're not a WindowsCAB file but an Install format and therefore won't open in winzip or those other programs.

WHOOT! It's fixed now, or at least my custom content in the opening area is gone now. I just had to search my entire comp for anything with neverwinter in the name a delete it! Seems Windows 7 keeps extra files on some applications in some folder, cuz even after a complete uninstall there was around 2 dozen files still hiding out in the background.

Thank you for the ideas though they were much help.
